    It is with immense pride that @RoyMukungunugwa has been promoted to WO1 and will be our next Regimental Sergeant Major. The RSM is the most senior soldier in the Regiment and Mr Mukunganungwa’s promotion is a reflection on years of service and upmost dedication to the Regiment.

    The Royal Lancers, and it’s antecedent Regiments, have proudly served the Royal Family for generations. We wear the moniker “Queen Elizabeths’ Own”, in recognition of services to both Her late Majesty the Queen, and the Queen Mother. God Bless the Queen, Long Live the King.

    Happy 5th Birthday to us! On 2nd May 2015 two historic Army regiments joined as one to form The Royal Lancers in the presence of HM The Queen. 5 years on, with an Op Tour under our belt as well as the suffix "Queen Elizabeths' Own", it's been a great start!

    "Stormed at with shot and shell, Boldly they rode and well." Today, in 1854, the 17th Lancers rode into the Valley of Death with the Light Brigade at Balaclava. Of 147 men who charged that day, 74 were killed or wounded. 3 Victoria Crosses were awarded. @thehistoryguy
