A lot of the 80’s was really just the late 70’s that wouldn’t leave. Everything was so so, brown. If you were lucky, you got a burnt sienna. Dark red? Luxury.
I was lucky enough to see Hamilton live. I went in cold. I wasn’t prepared. The power of “It’s Quiet Uptown” absolutely broke my heart. But seeing it up close like this... the anguish on @Lin_Manuel’s face and the tears in @Phillipasoo’s eyes... it breaks my entire soul. ❤️

Yeah, it has big “can you photoshop the watermark off of this photo” energy. Those are words that were actually spoken to me by the CEO of a major company who thought everything on the internet was free. 🙄

Instead, learn early in your career that your time is a finite resource. The money you earn, what you’re actually getting paid for, is for a piece of your life. Like “The Machine” in The Princess Bride, those moments are being sucked away (but for money). Value your time.
I’m so sorry. I’ve had a few really bad therapists and the worst ones were openly dismissive of my work when they found I drew comics for kids. I was like, “look, I’ve got enough issues. I certainly don’t need to *pay someone* to make me feel like what I do isn’t important.” 😭
I just gently caught a *huge* moth with my bare hand and whispered to it before releasing it outside. It flew straight up, so I’m hoping that means the eagles will be here any minute to save us all from 2020.
