Jake and James tweet for the KYTC District 6 counties of Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Harrison, Kenton, Owen, Pendleton and Robertson.
We may be biased but this could be the coolest video you see all day! Watch the incredible progress made in under 2 weeks as crews work hard to restore a safe and sound Brent Spence Bridge before the holidays. More progress to come!
For many, this has been the honor of a lifetime to work day in and day out to return the Brent Spence Bridge -- quickly and safely -- to the people of Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati.
Striping is finished on both decks. Paint is drying. ✨☀️ In about an hour, law enforcement will lead traffic from I-275 northbound on I-71/75 across the bridge so that traffic can build gradually as lanes and access ramps are reopened. It's like our very own #OpeningDayParade.
We’ve got rebar! Yesterday, crews started installing the green coated bars of reinforcing steel to add strength to the pavement before concrete is poured. Project Manager Cory Wilson shares more:
Happy Friday! Major progress has been made installing deck pans on the upper deck of the Brent Spence Bridge. These metal liners serve as a platform for workers on the bridge & will be the base that concrete will be poured into. #BSBUpdates
Thank you to everyone in District 6 who worked endlessly this weekend. The plow drivers, people behind the scenes, @KentuckyEM, @kentuckyguard, @kystatepolice and all other first responders who helped throughout this arctic storm front.

In NKY the interstates are in decent shape. It’s going to be hard to see pavement markings on some roads, just take it slow. Our crews will be out all day! Respect the plow! @WLWT@Local12 @FOX19Frank @WCPO@KYTCGoKY@700wlw
9:45 Update: Debris has been removed from the bridge & reps from @KYTC, @ODOT_Statewide, FHWA & 4 consultant teams are on the bridge now for a walkthrough. An inspection will begin soon. #BSBUpdates
