Remarkably, the inaugural ep of THE AFRICAS VS AMERICA is here. We begin with the story of an American girl whose remains turn up as teaching props at an American university, 35 years after she was killed in the state bombing of her home on May 13, 1985. link.chtbl.com/5uRgkMB4

Yo. Everyone involved in making this moment happen should be ashamed of themselves. Never in a million years would this happen the other way around. You used HER moment to embarrass her ... to make room for a man looking to apologize for embarrassing her? I just don't get it.

Imagine CARDING the most high profile exec in professional sports, seconds after his team wins a championship. Canโ€™t even make history without the police reminding you where you stand.

Iโ€™d like to add โ€” this from Offset didnโ€™t happen in a vacuum. We have a culture thatโ€™s completely romanticized the idea of the man that โ€œwonโ€™t take no for an answer.โ€ That needs to stop. If sheโ€™s saying no, thereโ€™s likely a reason? Stop trying to coerce women into relationships.

Also, for the people framing this as some sort of โ€œshe was in on it!โ€ conspiracy. Why? Why must the standard for a hurting woman be so high? Stop contorting yourself to poke imaginary holes in a womanโ€™s pain.

If not for Kyle Lowry, Masai couldโ€™ve had the moment of his professional life stolen from him by police. That will bother me for a long time. If theyโ€™re willing to do Ujiri like that, in front of 20,000, imagine how they do old boy on the corner when nobody is looking.

Before anyone comes in trying to play contrarian โ€” refer to the video: it's clear Masai has his credential IN HIS HAND the entire time. This is a terrible look for the sheriff's office, and could've been much worse had players not stepped in. x.com/JacksKnow/statโ€ฆ

I've done my best to stay off here the last few weeks. But this set of #s now widely quoted in the press needs interrogation. As does much of our public discussion, which for some reason appears to believe the advocacy of one people necessitates the erasure of another. #Tigray ๐Ÿงต
The Israeli bombing campaign in Gaza might be killing children at a rate unprecedented in 21st-century conflict, this data suggests. (By @RubyMellen @arturgalocha & @juledurg) washingtonpost.com/world/interactโ€ฆ

another high profile ethiopian who has, remarkably, said nothing about the worst campaign of violence this century, unleashed in their ancestral homeland, whilst loudly advocating for those suffering identical regimes of violence elsewhere. false advocacy is worse than silence.

Let's begin here: It's likely the case that the # of dead children in Ethiopiaโ€™s Tigray region outnumbers these combined totals by *many* orders of magnitude. The reason we donโ€™t have these #s is due to Ethiopiaโ€™s years-long effort to block all outside attempts at investigation.
