It was certainly better compared to the desert of today. It was just a better time in general anyway. Remembering Star Wars Kinect >>7645 (OP) the 7th gen was the last to have an abundance of shitty shovelware games that lended themselves to making funny reviews of on YouTube. Companies just stopped making those in the 8th gen.

Halo always was garbage. Every now and then I get recommended a stupid video about 'the decline and fall of the Halo series' as if it wasn't the reviled Call of Duty of its day. It's actually way worse because nobody pretends the older CoD games are some legendary masterpieces transcending their status as simple deathmatch shooters. CoD 'nostalgia' videos are just shorts of some guy obliterating noobs and nuking the map. Way more respectable.

Let's talk about this classic series.
Just finished Super Ramon 4, while it has some flaws compared to 3 I still find it to be the peak of the series.
>QoL improvements
>Streamlined gameplay with the tightest controls
>Best, most open ended level design of the series
>The top notch art design of the previous games is still here with better technology and graphical updates
>Top tier THX certified sound design
<Side characters are kind of boring
<Voice actors could be better
Still remember picking this off the shelf of my local CeX store 10 years ago, good times!

I know sports video games often don't have the best reputation, that's mostly thanks to their current direction of monopolies focused on PvP online play only to capitalize on microtransactions as much as it can. However it wasn't always like this, video games began with titles like Tennis For Two and Pong, sports are fundamental to this medium, I have many fond memories of playing video games based on sports I like, either arcade or simulation, often something in between, it's all a treat if done well. It'd be cool to have a thread for this genre for once.

I love Winning Eleven more than anything else, what do you all play?

I decided to give some really old stuff a try, really enjoyed winning the World Cup on TECMO World Cup '93 (which was made by SIMS and not TECMO… and also there was no World Cup in 1993) with Brazil, it plays some good football, I genuinely prefer it over modern FIFA/EA FC and PES/eFootball and I don't say it just to be a hater, it's better.

P.S. I won the World Cup on the last shot of the match with only a few seconds to spare.

One thing I forgot to mention about this title that ended up being sort of funny in this screenshot, you pick your kit/jersey color before you start, no matter the national team, you can wear any color from the selection, and the opponent's kit is always sorted before the match too, so you can get situations like this where Brazil is blue, because I was in the mood for giving the blue Brazilian kit a try, and Germany in yellow, which would normally be Brazil's color, it's odd… but it worked.

Did you use a crt shader? Doesn't look too bad. I plan on going through the sega fifas and nhl games on emulation myself. I started with fifa 99 on the psx and enjoyed a match, it was snappy and arcade-y compared to the simulation style that came out in the 00's fifas.

I think the mini is about $200 on sale, so they're not in the same product class at all
