14:00 Policing Paradise Series 2: Episode 3
A haul of suspected cannabis plants is found at a residential home.
PC Jen Suter and PC Tyler Kendall are called to a scene in Hamilton to assist fellow officers after the discovery of over a dozen large plants, believed to be cannabis, growing in a residential garden. The drug squad are called in, and as the team of officers document and remove the plants for testing, the homeowner arrives and casually admits they are his. Inside the property, the officers remove what is suspected to be more cannabis. His confession is taken under caution, but with the amount involved, officers must consider whether this is personal cultivation or something more organised? Across the island, PCs Adam Thompson and Melissa Butler head to a derelict seaside resort, following reports of trespassers. Inside the abandoned buildings, they discover stripped motorbike frames, scattered parts and makeshift tools, signs that the site could be what is known as a chop shop for dismantling stolen bikes. Crime Scene Investigator Tianna Mullan joins them, though the island’s humidity and the building’s exposure make recovering usable fingerprint evidence a challenge. At Bermuda’s international airport, PC Paul 'Geordie' Watson teams up with customs officers and drug-detection dog units to screen luggage from a flight arriving from New Jersey. The dogs raise the alarm over three bags, prompting secondary searches in a secure area. Officer Geordie knows the dogs are rarely wrong. Will the dogs' sniffing detective work hit on something suspicious in the travellers' belongings? Detective Damon Hollis and the drugs squad carry out a tightly controlled operation to destroy large quantities of seized narcotics from multiple investigations. Under the scrutiny of senior officers and independent witnesses, every item is logged, counted and signed off before being escorted to a secure facility. We follow the final, dramatic steps and the incineration of the evidence. For Damon, it’s all about ensuring dangerous drugs are permanently taken off the streets.

20:00 The Repair Shop Series 14: Episode 14 R [AD][S]
The Bear Ladies harness their skills to transform a life-sized model horse.
Kicking things off is a life-sized model horse used as a teaching aid at a riding school for disabled people. Instructor Ena and star pupil Ellen are hoping Hector, who is badly damaged after years of service, can be restored. Hector is on hand for students to practise approaching a horse and tacking up. He is a key part of the school and has been of great value to Ellen in particular, who was born with a condition that affects her hearing and balance. After enlisting Dominic Chinea’s help to build up Hector’s uneven hooves with fibreglass, the Bear Ladies, Amanda Middleditch and Julie Tatchell, mend his mane and missing fur before coming up with a smooth solution to make him look friendlier. Ellen and Ena jump for joy as they are reunited with their transformed, trusty friend. Next, Mary-Rose and her daughters Lou and Kate bring a chair with a rich history. This classic piece was commandeered from Mary-Rose’s grandparents’ home in Paris during World War II after they made a daring escape to England. After the war, it was returned, badly damaged, to its owners, who reupholstered it themselves before keeping it safely under wraps. Once passed down to Mary-Rose, it was well used and became the favourite seat of her beloved late husband. Upholsterer Sonnaz Nooranvary strips it back to its wooden frame and uses traditional techniques to restore its strength and comfort. In homage to its history, she covers it in a fabric woven by a Paris-based company. The family are delighted to see their treasured chair given new life. The third visitor has an unusual clock that intrigues and excites horologist Steve Fletcher. Robin is the proud owner of a chromosphere, a mechanical marvel built by his great-grandfather. Using a grandfather clock mechanism, it rotates a globe that reveals, on a ring around the equator, what time it is anywhere around the world. Or so a newspaper article fixed inside the clock’s stand claims - Robin has never seen it working. While Steve mends the mechanisms to revive its long-lost tick, globe expert Jonathan Wright uses an endoscope to locate the position of the old lead shot inside the globe. He replaces it to ensure it rotates smoothly before meticulously restoring detail to the paper covering. Robin returns and is overjoyed to hear it tock and strike for the very first time. Finally into the barn are Adam and his mum Trish. Their sights are set on saddle maker Suzie Fletcher restoring a cherished leather darts case that belonged to their late father and husband, Alan. Like his dad, Adam loves the game but is unable to use his treasured case, as the stitching is too worn to hold darts in place. He asks Suzie not to clean away evidence of his dad’s handling on the leather exterior, so a plan is hatched to carefully condition it from the inside instead. A surprise awaits Suzie as the case is taken apart. She replaces the stitching with a linen thread - like it originally had - and adorns the front with embossed initials, which is just how Adam and Trish remember it. When they return, they are transported back to happy times with the family man they adored.

She and Tate also long for a cascading water feature, a cosy seating area with a pergola and plenty of visiting birds. Tate and Barbara bought their first home in 2024 after moving from Bristol to Coventry, and they have fallen in love with both their new house and the strong sense of community in their neighbourhood. With their demanding NHS nursing schedules, they have had little time to bring their dream garden to life. Can Chris and Lee create an exotic, low-maintenance jungle paradise on a £5,500 budget?

00:30 MasterChef Series 22: Episode 19 R [AD]
It’s finals week, and four cooks battle it out for the ultimate prize.
Six weeks of fraught competition have produced four exceptional amateur cooks, who all stand a chance of being enlisted into the MasterChef hall of fame. They are about to embark on the culinary trip of a lifetime, where they will experience a culture and cuisine full of life, beauty and exceptional talent on the Caribbean paradise of Antigua and Barbuda. The final four begin their culinary tour in Nelson’s Dockyard. Now a Unesco World Heritage Site, this historic location is the perfect place to kick off their adventure. To get the cooks immersed in the local cuisine, Anna and Grace have invited 20 locals for a barbecue feast of traditional Antiguan dishes. Working with unfamiliar ingredients and recipes is a huge ask for the final four, so to help them along, local executive chef Maurine Bowers has agreed to come and guide them. Antiguan cuisine is a true melting pot and includes influences from African, British, Spanish and indigenous cultures, including the Caribs and Arawaks. This results in vibrant, diverse dishes packed with flavour, and the locals are very passionate that their dishes are delivered authentically. Given that the amateur recipes include local favourites such as ducana sweet potato dumplings and Antigua’s national dish, pepperpot stew, all of which require a deft hand when it comes to technique and seasoning, it will take every ounce of skill and culinary intuition for the cooks to win over the hearts of today’s diners, as well as judges Anna and Grace, who will be scrutinising the finalists’ every move. Having gained some local culinary know-how, the four amateurs will next venture to the stunning location of their second challenge, where they will have their first shot at local fine dining at the Estate House within the five-star Jumby Bay Island Resort. This exclusive restaurant incorporates French technique with contemporary Caribbean cuisine under the helm of celebrated Antiguan chef Eustace Cabral Jr. Each of the finalists will be preparing a dish from the exclusive dinner menu, which celebrates the finest local produce such as grouper, goat and breadfruit, and will need to ensure every element is treated with the utmost care and respect and delivered in ways that draw out maximum flavour. Anna and Grace will also be dining and hoping that the finalists can live up to their expectations and prove why they were chosen as the final four. The Caribbean journey will end with one final task at the resort, where the contestants will work as private chefs for a VIP dinner being hosted in one of the resort's most exclusive private villas. Guests include cricketing legend Sir Viv Richards and deputy governor-general of Antigua and Barbuda Sir Clare Roberts, KCN, QC, so this is truly a time when the finalists need to be on their A-list game. Inspired by their time in Antigua and Barbuda, each of the cooks has designed a course for the menu. It is the first time on this trip that they are responsible for their own food, which must not only look and taste great and be jam-packed with technical prowess but should also be a celebration of their surroundings alongside some of their own personality. A mammoth task indeed. The judges will be taking notes too, as soon they will be choosing their winner. Any championship-worthy mouthfuls will live long in their memory and no doubt stand those cooks in good stead.

Miss Skerritt has an aggressive detainee in custody.

Across town, DC Nick Akle and DC Quincy Fevriere handle one of policing’s most sensitive tasks: returning personal belongings to the family of a deceased victim. Later, detective Nick stops by custody with a much less important delivery – a very specific sandwich order for PC Skerritt, who affectionately calls him her ‘work son’. Out on the west of the island, PC Rajiv Bailey and PC Krislyn Lambert investigate a car that has crashed and been abandoned in the doctor's surgery car park. What starts as a possible crime turns into a welfare case as they try to track down who the elderly driver is, find his family and work out the circumstances of how the crash was caused. Meanwhile, PC Hugo Benziger teams up with coastguards Matt Powell and Matthew Stephens for a day on the water. It’s all smooth sailing until one skipper tries to dodge an inspection. He doesn’t get far, as the team stops the vessel, checks the safety kit and issues an instant fine for failing essential water-fairing requirements.

Stacey calls in Zoe Sugg to tackle three generations of clutter in the Jamiesons' home.
Stacey and her team head to East Sussex to help the Jamieson family tackle their overflowing converted bungalow. Single mum Nadine has called it home since her teenage years, raising four daughters there and helping her late mother. With three generations under one roof, the family’s belongings have taken over entire rooms, leaving no space for a fresh start. With the team’s help, the family strips every item from their home, unveiling the hidden potential beneath the chaos. During the packing, the team learn about Nadine’s history of looking after everyone around her – at work as an NHS nurse, as a carer to her mother and raising daughters. The family’s possessions are displayed in a vast warehouse – an awe-inspiring art installation of their lives, including 106 animal ornaments, 87 board games and over 1,000 pieces of Nadine’s beloved china. As they sort through the decades of keepsakes, emotional moments arise. Nadine reflects on her idyllic childhood, the challenges of raising her daughters and the impact of her father leaving the family home. With Nadine’s daughters supporting her every step of the way, the family takes on the challenge of letting go of 40 years’ worth of possessions and memories. Once the most treasured items are selected, Stacey and the team work tirelessly to transform the bungalow into a warm and welcoming sanctuary. Rob upcycles forgotten furniture to create a cosy, revamped kitchen, and he turns Fleur’s bedroom into a retro 1970s-inspired haven. Dilly organises Nadine’s extensive china collection, and Iwan modernises old furniture and cleans the house from top to bottom. Stacey’s online friend Zoe Sugg, aka Zoella, steps in to lend an extra pair of hands as they prepare the house ahead of the family’s return home. Will Stacey and her team’s efforts to declutter, organise and upcycle provide the fresh start the Jamiesons have been dreaming of?

21:00 Reported Missing Series 5: 3. Runaway R [AD]
Police mount searches for two teenagers who are missing from care and could be in danger.
Eighteen-year-old Taylor has not been seen for almost two days, and while this might not be so unusual for a young adult, he is reported missing by the care unit where he lives rather than his family. The unit’s description of him as vulnerable person immediately raises police concern, particularly as he has continued to live in care since turning 18. At Drylaw Police Station in Edinburgh, Inspector Alison Lawrie launches an immediate investigation. With Taylor not responding to any calls, police visit his adoptive parents’ house to find out whether they have seen him, but he hasn't been responding to their messages, either. Taylor moved into care at the age of 14 after his parents felt they were unable to keep him safe. Police scour any friends or contacts who might have heard from Taylor, and their concern grows when they discover that he is drawn to the homeless community. This is all the more worrying as Taylor has recently started transitioning from female to male. Police enquiries deepen when they find a new person of interest in the investigation - a man named Danny. When officers visit Danny's flat, he tells them that he doesn’t know Taylor, but as the days tick by and police gain access to Taylor’s phone records, they realise that Danny has not been entirely honest with them and that the two have been in touch. With Taylor now missing for five days, fears increase that Danny is hiding something, and that Taylor may have come to harm. Dealing with reports of children missing from Edinburgh’s care units is a constant pressure for the city’s police. Over 1,200 Scottish children go missing from care each year, and the responsibility for finding and returning them safely falls to officers such as Sergeant Stevie McMinn. Sergeant McMinn is on duty in the south of the city when another alarming report of a child missing from care comes in. Thirteen-year-old Ava has failed to return to her care unit after school, and night is approaching. She has no phone on her, but her father, who does not have guardianship of Ava, has passed on an unknown phone number that she has used to contact him. When Sergeant McMinn checks the number, he is immediately worried when he discovers it is linked to a 38-year-old man. Officers are sent to the man’s address, but he denies knowing who Ava is and refuses to let them search his flat. Sergeant McMinn is on his way out to join the search when he learns that officers there have intercepted a 13-year-old girl leaving the man’s flat. She is carrying Ava’s coat and travel card, but she is not Ava and denies all knowledge of her, only intensifying police fears. After repeatedly denying police entry to search the property, and under pressure from Sergeant McMinn, the man eventually allows the senior officer a check of his flat to establish that neither girl is there. As midnight approaches, police are left with a mystery to solve: what does the intercepted girl really know, where has Ava gone, and is she still at risk?

22:40 Rivals: Messi v Ronaldo [AD]
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo didn't just dominate their era. They created one.
As football entered a new era of global prominence, two players emerged who would redefine not just greatness but the sport itself. This film looks at two individuals who didn’t just dominate their era – they created one. For over a decade, their rivalry transcended clubs, countries and competitions, becoming the defining story of modern football – reshaping how the game was played, consumed and debated across the world. Featuring exclusive interviews with Xavi, Sergio Busquets, Rio Ferdinand, Angel Di Maria, Cesc Fabregas and Pablo Zabaleta, this account explores how that rivalry was born, how it reached unprecedented heights and why it ultimately changed football forever. Messi and Ronaldo’s childhood coaches trace their beginnings in Rosario and Madeira, which were shaped by early sacrifice, both leaving home as teenagers to pursue greatness. With insight from Txiki Begiristain on Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona and Rene Meulensteen on Ronaldo’s development at Manchester United, those formative environments set them on diverging paths: Messi, the visionary who redefined the forward role; Ronaldo, the relentless athlete who elevated goalscoring into an art form, laying the foundations for a rivalry that would explode at Barcelona and Real Madrid. Former Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez and Barcelona insiders recall a golden era of El Clasico unlike anything seen before, where the collision of Messi and Ronaldo, and Guardiola and Jose Mourinho, combined with relentless media coverage and the rise of social media, fuelled a global debate. Messi or Ronaldo became more than a question – it became a defining argument for a generation of fans, pundits and players around the world. Respected journalists chart the scale of what followed: record-breaking seasons, Ballon d’Or dominance and a level of consistency the game had never seen. Pushing each other to unprecedented heights, they redefined what was possible. Former teammates, including Argentina goalkeeper Emi Martinez, reflect on the setbacks behind the success – the international heartbreaks and personal challenges that only deepened their drive, culminating in defining moments: Ronaldo’s European Championship triumph with Portugal and Messi’s crowning World Cup victory with Argentina. As their careers evolved beyond Spain, social media and marketing experts unpack the growing power of their global influence. Moves from Madrid to Juventus and from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain, marked a shift in football’s centre of gravity – where fans follow players as much as clubs, and where individual brand power shapes the modern game, redefining its relationship with culture, identity and global fandom. This is the story of how Messi v Ronaldo became the rivalry that transformed football – and defined a generation.

Flo and Joe transform a patch of grass, gravel and concrete into a healing zen garden.
Flo Headlam and Joe Swift are in Wilmslow to help Vin and Reena transform their chaotic patch of grass, gravel and concrete into a zen and grow-your-own garden for family healing. With a pile of old bricks where a shed once stood and a path that leads nowhere, the couple have struggled to create the sanctuary they long for. They dream of a peaceful space with a cosy pergola and decking for family time, a fire pit for evenings together and a vegetable bed to grow organic produce to support Vin’s health. A tree to honour their ancestors and a family swing for their daughter Pruthvi will add meaning and magic, while a small play area ensures fun for all. Both Vin and Reena share a deep love of nature and spirituality. With Vin living with Crohn’s disease, healthy eating and time outdoors are vital to family life. Can the team deliver the calm, nourishing retreat they need on a £4,000 budget?

01:35 MasterChef Series 22: Episode 20 R [AD]
The finals continue with the last four chefs back in the UK.
The finals continue with the last four chef back in the UK, where they take on their biggest task to date – a task that would cause even professional chefs to quake in their aprons: Chef’s Table. This is followed by their most important cook-off to date as the contestants fight for a place in the final. Only three of them can make it, meaning one must say goodbye to their hopes of being crowned champion. Chef’s Table is first on the agenda, and Anna and Grace have whisked the final four off to Opheem, a two-Michelin-starred Indian restaurant in the heart of Birmingham. They are put through their paces by chef patron Aktar Islam, who has designed a menu for the guests – six of the nation’s greatest chefs who hold a magnificent eight Michelin stars between them, including Daniel Clifford (Midsummer House, two stars), Nieves Barragan (Sabor, one star, and Legado, one star) and Paul Ainsworth (No6, one star). This is the first time any of the amateurs have prepared food at this level. They have just hours to master the techniques required and will need to adhere to the same standards as any professional chef working in Aktar’s kitchen. The finalists take on one course each that includes a sand carrot prepared in eight ways, monkfish cooked delicately over coals and a venison course that has a to-do list as long as the saddle itself. Each plate also requires impeccable working methods and processes to be adhered to, as well as perfect attention to detail. The pressure is immense, not to mention that the amateurs are cooking for some of their idols. Anna and Grace hope to taste some of the finalists’ best food to date. Having had what must undoubtedly be the experience of a lifetime, the finalists need to compose themselves, as next up is their most important cook-off yet. This is the time to prove themselves, as they now have to fight for a place in the final cook-off, and there’s only space for the best three. Anna and Grace’s brief is for the amateurs to cook one dish: a classic but with their own twist. Classics carry that name for a reason: they are tried, tested and loved the world over, so any tweaks by the finalists must be done with caution. Play it too safe, and the cooks risk flying under the radar, but taking too many risks could ruin the essence of the dish. It’s a tough call for the chefs, who attempt to do their own version of some of the world’s best-loved dishes, including buffalo wings, coq au vin and a classic pasta dish that is bravely tested with Thai flavours. It’s for Anna and Grace to decide who stays as one chef says their goodbyes. The three remaining can rest easy for now, but they will need to get match-fit again pretty sharpish, as the biggest day of their lives is just around the corner. The MasterChef final is up next, and one of these three exceptional cooks will be crowned champion.

07:30 Policing Paradise Series 2: Episode 1 R
A vulnerable, elderly man sparks an island-wide search.
With exclusive access to the police service on the paradise island of Bermuda, we follow life on the front line for the near 400 officers keeping both holidaymakers and locals safe. From patrols and traffic operations to the drug unit, forensics, tactical response teams, the coastguard and community policing, the series goes behind the scenes with the officers at the heart of the action. The island has its fair share of challenges on both land and sea, with more than 3,000 crimes committed each year. We show how these dedicated officers, including around 30 from the UK, deal with the highs and lows of policing this British Overseas Territory. In the centre of the island, Sergeant Milton Hill responds to reports of an elderly man walking along a busy roadside in clear distress. When he arrives, the man is unable to recall his name, address or basic personal details, and the mystery begins. Concerned for his safety, Milton stays close, guiding traffic around him as he repeatedly steps into the road. On an island where everyone knows everyone, Officer Milton sends a photograph of the man to base, where his identity provides a surprising twist to the tale. It's a race against time for Officer Milton to get him returned home safely. Elsewhere, PC Eddie Smith and PC Jameela Sabir are on a stop-and-search operation. When Sergeant Mervin Homer examines a bike, he discovers a dangerous switchblade hidden under the seat. With the rider offering no feasible explanation, the prohibited weapon is immediately seized. Back at Hamilton Police Station, Custody Sergeant Francis Blackman reads the bike rider their rights, while Assistant Commissioner Martin Weekes examines other recently confiscated blades, including machetes and a samurai sword. At Bermuda’s international airport, PC Paul 'Geordie' Watson supports Customs Officer Malcolm Martin and drugs dog Zorro while screening an incoming flight from Canada. After sweeping the aircraft cabin in just five minutes, Zorro indicates interest in two bags in the arrivals hall, leaving customs officers the job of discreetly monitoring the family before searching their bags and bringing them in for questioning. What will the canine team uncover next?

16:30 The Travelling Auctioneers Series 6: 1. A Menagerie of Memories
Zoo memorabilia and a secret stash of gold help Bee and JJ aid a heartbroken widow.
Despite an array of eye-catching animals at the zoo they both worked at, devoted couple Jan and Chris only had eyes for each other. They had hoped for a long lifetime of memories together after Chris, born with just a single kidney, had a transplant in the early 1990s, which greatly improved his quality of life. But after a series of heart problems, sadly, his health declined, and after a final stay in hospital, he passed away in 2025. After 42 years of marriage, Jan’s world was rocked to the core. To help with the healing process, Jan is now sifting through and organising the belongings in her home, from the extensive zoo memorabilia collected by Chris to a hoard of jewellery. She dearly wants to find new homes for all the belongings to make the spare room, affectionately called the Zoo Room, into a little girl’s bedroom for her great-niece Dorothy when she comes to stay – something she knows husband Chris would have approved of. Can the auctioneers help Jan’s wish come true? On the hunt for glorious auction delights, auctioneer Bee Harford discovers overflowing boxes of jewellery, and a surprising find hidden away in an airing cupboard is simply stuffed with sovereigns. Then there’s the crammed ‘Zoo Room’, stacked high with animal ephemera including posters and programmes. Could this make wild money at auction? Restorer JJ Chalmers has a mountain to climb as he turns into an animal carer too. A large stone eagle has a broken wing, and adding a steel rod and a lick of paint to the crumbly concrete is a risky business. Can he drill the holes he needs without shattering the wing into tiny pieces? Keeping with the bird theme, he next tackles a tired old birdhouse with a missing panel. Also added to his load is a miniature cast-iron rickshaw in need of a shiny new revival. JJ’s incredible expertise is really being put to the test. Can he lovingly complete and restore all three in just one day? At auction, Bee and JJ are primed and ready to raise as much money as they can for Jan as she enters her new chapter in life. Will those in the saleroom bid ferociously for Chris’s beloved zoo collection, and will the batch of gold sovereigns rustle up a frenzy of excitement to help Jan create a bedroom paradise for little Dorothy?

01:50 FIFA World Cup 2026 Group Stage: Iran v New Zealand
Live coverage of the opening match in Group G as Iran take on New Zealand.
Live coverage of the opening match in Group G as Iran take on New Zealand at Los Angeles Stadium. Iran, appearing at their seventh World Cup, are looking to make it past the group stage for the first time. They return four years on from featuring at Qatar 2022, where they beat Wales 2-0 in between defeats to England and the United States. There had been uncertainty over Iran’s participation at the 2026 edition because of the war with the US and Israel, which began just over three months before the start of the tournament. New Zealand make their return to the World Cup 16 years on from going unbeaten in 2010, though draws with Slovakia, Paraguay and Italy weren’t enough to make it past the group stage. Nottingham Forest’s Chris Wood played in 2010, and much of the nation’s hopes will rest on their captain and record goalscorer this time around if they are to progress to the knockouts for the first time.

20:00 Marcus Wareing Simply Provence Series 1 Compilations: Episode 6 R
Marcus attempts to reinvent two French classics.
There is one delicious food that is adored across the world. It may have started life in South America as the humble cocoa bean, but it’s the Swiss, Belgians and of course French who have turned it into an ingredient we all love: chocolate. But Marcus loves a good, old-fashioned British bar of chocolate, so can the French convince him that they do it better? To find out, he visits local chocolatier Joel, who takes inspiration from Provence to create chocolates with unusual flavour combinations, like almonds and olives. Marcus is surprised by how good it is and challenges Joel to make chocolates using English breakfast tea bags, and invites him to dinner to try them out. With Joel bringing dessert, Marcus needs a main course, and he is taking inspiration from a Provençal ingredient he is obsessed with: figs. Here, they grow a variety you don’t see much in Britain: white figs. So, he meets up with local fig farmer Aurelie, who agrees to give him some in exchange for a lesson in how to make fig chutney. Marcus decides he will use the chutney in his simple twist on a classic British pub dish: a Provençal-style ploughmans, which he serves for dinner followed by Joel‘s English tea-flavoured chocolates. Marcus loves herbs. Where would tomatoes be without basil, curry without coriander and lamb without mint? Here in Provence, they have created their own signature blend of herbs and put it in pretty much everything: herbes de Provence. With no equivalent in Britain, Marcus wants to create his own simple mix that will not only rival this French classic but turn any dull dish into a truly tasty treat. He starts with a visit to the local herb shop, where he discovers that despite it being the flower of Provence, lavender is not used in the famous dried herb mix. It is one of Marcus’s favourites though, so he can’t resist adding it to his own recipe. He then tries this flavour combination out on some local chefs in the town. First Natasha, who uses it in her super simple breaded root vegetable recipe, and then Patrick, who agrees to try it with his flambeed lamb. The final test is using it to create a meal for the owner of the herb shop, to see if he will agree to sell Marcus’s mix!

Chris Hull and Sue Kent are in Water Orton to help Johnny and Jo transform their uneven, overgrown garden, neglected for 60, maybe 70 years, into a stunning blend of rustic French charm and English Victorian elegance. The couple want to keep an old ivy as a central feature, alongside fragrant lavender, honeysuckle and jasmine to attract wildlife. Sustainability is key, with reclaimed brick for raised beds and walkways, and recycled wooden reels repurposed for tables. A gin-and-tonic pergola, cosy seating area and hidden garden nooks will add charm and character throughout the space. Married for 31 years, Johnny and Jo first met when he was a chef and she his manager. Their journey took them to France, raising two boys before returning to the UK. Now retired, they have poured their hearts into restoring a former sweet shop and general store into a home full of character – and they’re ready to do the same for the garden. Can the team bring this historic plot back to life with a modern twist on a £6,000 budget?
