PROMPT: DARK OF WINTER

Just after the sun goes down the air starts to creak, followed by a high pitched whine. The sound repeats over and over as dusk turns to dark. In the distance dots of orange light appear beneath the stars. Bonfires. Lit to protect those who live in the village. The seemingly never ending creaking grows louder as the eve of the winter solstice begins.

Tell us a story of the long dark winter and the sounds that fill the night. A story of snow falling from the sky and the mystery of what falls with it. A story of magick ignited.
