TRUST-AI 2026 workshop, co-located IEEE ICHI 2026 on June 1, 2026, focuses on how artificial intelligence can transform Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) data into safe, usable, and trustworthy clinical insights. It brings together researchers, clinicians, designers, and policymakers to explore how AI-enabled IoMT systems can be technically robust, clinically meaningful, and aligned with regulatory and ethical expectations.

The workshop’s goal is to bridge the gap between algorithmic intelligence, human experience, and governance in connected health. It emphasizes the intersection of application, human-centered design, and policy, highlighting practical challenges, deployment experiences, and lessons learned from real-world AI in IoMT.

Themes and Topics

We invite contributions on the application, design, safety, and policy of AI in connected health, including (but not limited to):

  • AI applications in IoMT: predictive modeling, anomaly detection, personalization, and real-time analytics for connected health devices.
  • Design and usability: human-centered design of intelligent devices, clinician- and patient-facing interfaces, and workflow integration.
  • Safety, security, and privacy: robustness, privacy-preserving analytics, authentication, and data governance for AI-enabled IoMT.
  • User trust and ethics: explainable AI, transparency, fairness, and methods to foster patient and clinician trust.
  • Policy and regulation: compliance-by-design and governance under frameworks such as GDPR, the EU AI Act, and FDA SaMD guidance.
  • Innovation and lessons learned: industry reports, case studies of deployments, and well-analyzed negative results.

Submission Information

The workshop welcomes a range of contributions to support both mature and emerging work on trustworthy AI for IoMT:

  • Long papers (up to 8 pages): mature research on applications, design, safety/security, or policy analysis.
  • Short papers (up to 4 pages): work-in-progress studies, pilot evaluations, or design concepts.
  • Extended abstracts (up to 2 pages): industry reports, policy position papers, and clinical case studies.

Important dates:
  • Submission deadline: March 16, 2026
  • Notification: April 2, 2026
  • Workshop: June 1, 2026
