Tom is a managing director and leads the HardTech Practice at True. He offers a unique perspective having been a client, a hiring manager and a candidate himself while serving as a CEO of multiple high-growth, public and VC/PE-backed organizations over the past 20 years. His experience enables him to apply first-hand operational knowledge to his searches. Tom also has held various board member and advisory positions throughout his career allowing him to uniquely navigate multi-stakeholder decision-making and executive team building.
Prior to True, Tom was COO of Orases, CEO of Blue Pillar (acquired by Generac), CEO of CURRENT (acquired by Ormazabal) and VP / GM of Efficient Networks (IPO: EFNT then acquired by Siemens). He has also been at the forefront of some of the most significant industrial shifts of the past two decades including the transition from dial-up to broadband telecommunications, the systematic digital transformation of the electric grid, the widespread connectivity to information using Internet of Things, the revolutionary change from on-premise to cloud applications, and most recently the adoption of artificial intelligence across a wide spectrum of different industries and markets.
Tom graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor of engineering degree in electrical engineering and was a finalist for Ernst & Young entrepreneur of the year during his time as a CEO.
