What decade is it? There have been new releases from Yellowcard, Motion City Soundtrack and The Starting Line, after a nine, ten, and eighteen years respectively. There has also been new music from other bands that have been around for decades (and more).
In my post about releases from my 2020s discoveries, I covered a lot of albums that I've listened to a lot. There were even more albums and EPs released this year that I've listened to. Here is a list where you might find a hidden gem.
I have kept notes on bands I've listened to over the years, and this highlights those I've discovered in the first half of this decade. This post includes some of my favourite albums of the year, and every release is solid.
This year, I discovered a lot of new bands. I have added over 80 tracks to my 2025 pop-punk playlist of newly discovered bands and over 50 tracks to my 2025 skate punk playlist. A few of these bands have turned into favourites and have been on repeat throughout the year.
