ABOUT THE HONOREES

On January 18, 2023, Andrea Joy Campbell was sworn in to be the 45th Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, becoming the first woman of color to win statewide office in Massachusetts.

Born and raised in Roxbury and the South End, she experienced profound loss and hardship early in life. With the support of family, community, and teachers, she became the first in her family to graduate from college, earning degrees from Princeton and UCLA Law.

After earning her law degree, she worked as a legal services attorney defending the rights of children and their families — particularly those with disabilities. Andrea also practiced law in the private sector and ultimately left to serve the public as General Counsel at the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission, working across 101 cities and towns to address regional challenges like healthcare access, affordable housing, and climate change. She began her career as a legal services attorney and was later elected to the Boston City Council where she was unanimously chosen as the first Black woman City Council President.

She, along with her incredible team, are committed to ensuring their work is responsive to the needs of residents and businesses. They pledge to build economic prosperity for all residents, prioritize the mental health and well-being of children, and break cycles of poverty, incarceration and mediocrity while ensuring that people across the state have access to the AG’s Office regardless of their zip code, language or ability.

7uice Foundation Logo (Black)

Founded by Jaylen Brown, The 7uice Foundation partners with institutions, organizations and social change leaders to bridge the opportunity gap for youth in traditionally underserved communities.

The 7uice Foundation’s Bridge Programs are custom-built to fit the needs of each community we impact. Our goal is to connect those who have lacked access to critical resources. Our commitment to equal educational opportunities bridges gaps for youth in underserved communities to access opportunities in four key areas: 1. Entrepreneurship & Financial Literacy, 2. Health & Wellness, 3. Leadership & Activism, and 4. Sustainability & Technology.

As an NBA All-Star and social justice advocate, Jaylen Brown is committed to leveraging his network, resources, and platform to build bridges for young people, helping them to access existing opportunities and resources to create a more equitable, just, and sustainable society.  Jaylen is focused on connecting young people to resources that already exist, but for which there are barriers to access—access to education, extra-curricular opportunities, the Arts, and digital literacy programs.
