like beating a unicorn to death with a bag of rainbows

from [personal profile] wendelah1 So, what are you doing, thinking, wondering about, reading, watching, making, or writing, that you don't usually post about?

doing: trying, and failing, to make icons. it's not simply that i don't really know what i'm doing. it's also that i so often don't know what i want to do. so i try random things and get fed up and click away in disgust. perhaps i am just not meant to be visually creative.

thinking: about what story i'm going to work on next; about how i have not, since i started writing fanfic in 2006, written this much or this consistently ever. i'm also thinking about writing some, i suppose, meta-ish things about betaing and writing sex (separately, although together would be interesting now that i think about it). but since i am rubbish at writing those sorts of things, i'll probably keep putting them off as i have for years.

wondering about: why fictional people's sex lives are so much of interest to me and why reading, writing, and thinking about them is so comforting when sex in real life is of no interest to me whatsoever. does the fact that i'm asexual make het sex a kink? i have no one to talk these things over with.

reading: currently i'm somewhere in the midst of rereading all of the 'in death' series by nora roberts to date. the books are problematic in many ways but overall i can ignore those parts and enjoy the rest.

watching: bron | broen (the bridge) season 2. oh boy. this show continues to astonish me. still persevering with hannibal because mads mikkelsen is an endlessly fascinating actor. i miss gillian, though. i started watching a silly cartoon on iview called total drama island and got hooked. apparently i enjoy parodies of reality tv shows. i keep watching elementary for lucy liu, and johnny miller's facial acrobatics, but the show itself isn't terribly interesting. is it time for season 2 of the fall? how about now?

writing: i just finished and posted a fic that i pretty much wrote and then re-wrote entirely bar a sentence here and there. alas, it doesn't count as two fics. next up will almost certainly be another section of 'five kisses that didn't happen and two that did'.
