yesterday's sun hadn't surrendered itself to autumn and though the wind was chilled, the sun still burned ferociously. the exposed back of my neck was assaulted on the walk home and last night the paleness blushed. when it fades, it will join the other accidental sunmarks on my back, turning golden.
