my body cools in the way
of bodies, one hand
on my belly, one hand at
my cheek. like a child
i take the rain as my gift
as my right as mine. mine. mine
in the darkness and bursts
of bright headlights, spinning
wheels and the slow
slow lighting of the sky.
*
oh i am jittery jitters jitters
and this is my first attempt at poetry in months and no wonder i haven't been bothering and muscles spasms and head racing and what in the hell is going on? yesterday i forgot to take my little white pills and my head made a wicked ache but now this? oh but the rain woke me, the thunder in the pipes, and the world is silver grey on this last day.
