Jane McAlevey

Jane McAlevey is an organiser, author and scholar. Her Raising Expectations (and Raising Hell) was named the ‘most valuable book of 2012’ by The Nation Magazine. Her second book, No Shortcuts: Organizing for Power in the New Gilded Age (2016) has been published in German as Keine halbe Sachen. Machtaufbau durch Organizing (2019). She is a regular commentator on radio and TV and continues to work as an organiser on union campaigns, lead contract negotiations, and train and develop organisers.
