Gregor Gysi

Gregor Gysi is a lawyer and leading figure of the German party Die LINKE. In 1990 he was elected for the first time as a deputy of the Party of Democratic Socialism (PDS) to the German Bundestag and until 2002 was chair of the PDS. From 2005 he became chair of Die LINKE’s delegation in the Bundestag. From 2016 – 2019 he was president of the Party of the European Left.
