Alfonso Gianni

Alfonso Gianni was a member of Italy’s Chamber of Deputies from 1979 to 1986, first in the PdUP, then as an independent in the Communist Party list. Subsequently, he was a trade-union official (CGIL), chief of staff for Fausto Bertinotti (Party of Communist Refoundation), and a deputy again in 2001. In 2006 he became Under-Secretary for Economic Development in the second Prodi government.
He directs the foundation Cercare Ancora and is part of the National Steering Committee of L’Altra Europa con Tsipras.
