About

Totemtanz is a modern jazz quartet that draws inspiration from a wide range of musical styles and combinations of sounds including jazz, rock and modern composition music.

Based in Denmark, Totemtanz combines Nordic folk traditions and the rich jazz heritage of Copenhagen with the nostalgia of European interwar period cabaret.

Their eponymous debut album was released in December 2022 and the track “Abstrakte maskiner 2” was in frequent rotation on Danish national radio.

The quartets second album “In Trödelmarkt der Träume” further expands on Totemtanz’ unique sonic universe and was released in January 2024.

    Album release: IN TRÖDELMARKT DER TRÄUME

    Totemtanz' second album, 'In Trödelmarkt der Träume' was released today and is available from all the usual streaming platforms.

    Recorded in late 2023 the new album contain 9 tracks which further expand on Totemtanz’ unique sonic universe and include elements of both rock and jazz. The album have been recorded and produced by Johnnie McCoy.
