I drifted away from poetry and went quiet for a while—tucked in a basement cave, letting the noise of the world pass overhead. When I finally resurfaced, I found a changed landscape and needed a new voice to meet it. That’s where Soaky the Clown came from: a persona through which I could speak what I saw, felt, dreamed, and feared.
What began as political frustration turned into a deeper exploration of conscience, humor, and empathy part social satire, part spiritual reflection. Along the way, I started experimenting with generative AI, not as a writer but as a listener, a mirror. It learned my tone, rhythm, and patterns, sometimes surprising me with echoes of my own thoughts. Those exchanges helped me sharpen my voice, not replace it.
Soaky became more than a character—it became a dialogue: between ideals and absurdity, between human thought and digital reflection. Think of it as equal parts barroom philosophy, Masonic wonder, Monty Python, and the generous influence of the people I work beside.
Cheers, and enjoy the ride—and if something here stirs you, leave a comment.

Hi Thomas – I can relate to the endless notebooks full of writing going nowhere (Mom’s Crap, as my kids call it) – it’s what brought me here, too. Some interesting ideas here, I’ll be following.
Thanks, sometimes just happens, become more enjoyable to share, then fill a notebook never to be red
Thanks for liking my funny little poem Cyber Romeo. That makes me feel good! And, if you go back to my blog, there are 216 more poems there on all kinds of subjects.

hi thomas, thanks for the follow. I can totally relate with the scattered notebooks. Putting it up on a blog is quite the sensible thing to do after, but sometimes I miss writing on a paper with smudged ink and all. 🙂 good luck!
is something about paper, and ink… but find that with electronics i will write and post – rather then write, edit, edit, edit … thanks!
Hi Thomas! Thank you for the follow!
I find your poems great, and I know by myself that I can learn with your style.

Oh and Thomas. I write mostly from http://www.swimdeeper.wordpress.com, which is the place the post you liked was from. I am trying to figure out how to switch it so people are directed there rather than rebekahhiggins.wordpress.com.
You are better off following swim deeper thanks!

Thank you, Thomas, for following by blog. I am truly enjoying yours as well!

I like your poetry and the layout of your blog. I, like you, have piles of notebooks filled with years of writing. I am constantly writing new material and usually don’t go back to polish the old. How to take so much, from so many years, and begin the process of reconstructing my life into something called a book, perhaps. Hhhhmm. Look forward to reading more of your poetry.
Please leave me a comment on my blog if you feel so moved by any of my writing.
thanks, reading more of your writing , i enjoy very much 🙂
Thanks for following my blog Thomas. : ) Yay! Tell me how you get so many followers. How long have you been blogging? I guess I can look at your archives to see. I started in October of last year. It’s been and awesome journey unlike anything I could’ve imagined.

Your works are influential. I read a few of them. Keep the good word reach us. All the very best.
Hello Thomas! I’m at the start of the road that you took a few years ago. I used to scribble poetry on the last page of several notebooks. This last few days, I decided to start a blog and carve my words for the world to see. Stumbling upon this made my day! I’m inspired to continue. Happy writing!
Thanks it has been a good journey , and helps me to keep writing when people read , enjoy !!!
