10 random things about me
1. I'm a rescued kitty.

2. My favourite spot to sleep is nestled between my two humans. My second-favourite, for use when they're not around, is perched on the back of the chair in the living room so that I can look out the window.

3. My only phobia is of vacuums.

4. I could totally demolish a plate of tuna right now.

5. I do NOT have a kittypot habit. I can quit anytime.

6. I wish my humans didn't have laptops. They have a tipsykitty, which should take care of all of their lap warming needs.

7. I view any closed door as a personal insult. Why do the humans keep the laundry door closed? I open it for them.

8. My favourite toy is a ribbon, dangled by my kittymommy.

9. I'm very extroverted. I get unhappy when my humans don't let me out to visit people who come into my home.

10. I love when my humans watch movies, because I get two hours of uninterrupted kitty cuddle time.

catster

I know, I know, it's been awhile since I updated my journal. It's been a busy life, what can I say? It's a hard job stalking the Most Comfortable Spot in the House.

But I took some time out of my busy day to create a catster profile.

home

After three weeks (more than that! 22 days!) of kitty jail, I am now finally home. Both of my humans are here. There's luggage and boxes everywhere. They've been pretty good about giving me love, but it's not enough to make up for 3 weeks (22 days!) of kitty jail. And they've been spending too much time on their luggage and boxes.

kittymommy!
My kittymommy is back! She left me for a long long time. Someone came in and made sure that I had kittyfood and kittywater (but not a clean kittybox), but I was all alone and lonely. I shall show her how much I missed her by sleeping on her as much as possible.

puppy

I've nearly got it down. I start in my female human's room. Then we go into the long room with the nice cool tile floor, and she lets me roll around. Next up is the magic room. Then we leave the magic room (through the same door!), go into the long room again, and then we go into my male human's room.

I think that they do the magic room thing just to mess with me. Why do we have to get into this room in the middle, when we just end up back in the long room again? So I tried to beat them at their game. We all started out in the male human's room, then into the long room, then into the magic room. But instead of waiting in the magic room, I darted out into the long room before the doors could close. Then I headed to my female human's room.

Just as I walked up, the door opened. Yay! I was home! I started to run in, but then something horrible happened. A ... god, can I bring myself to say it? ... a dog ran out into the long room! A dog! In my female human's room! And everything inside looked different as well. The male human followed me, but wouldn't walk into this room that should have been my female human's room but wasn't. I ran back out into the long room, where my female human was laughing and the male human said something about me living upstairs. No, I don't live upstairs, there are no stairs! There's just the magic roonm!

So my male human carried me into the magic room, and we waited until the door opened, and then we went into my female human's room. This time, it was the right one. I don't know what that magic room does, but it's something weird. I had to check out everything to make sure that it was the right place, and that there weren't unknown humans or (worse!) a dog hiding somewhere.

I want to know how they got in there in the first place, and why I couldn't smell them after they'd been there. Something's not right here. I don't get it.

bad adventure

Today has been quite the adventure. Most if it hasn't been good.

I was sound asleep by the door to the balcony. I wouldn't've minded if the humans had woken me up to open the balcony door. But no, what woke me (and them) up was a light in the kitchen flashing and and a huge loud noise. My human woke up, muttering something about the 'fucking fire alarm'. She put me in my leash, and both humans got dressed, then gathered me up and walked down stairs. The whole time, there was lots of loud noise. I was scared, and shivered while my human stroked me.

We waited downstairs by the pool. The male human let me explore the flowerbeds. I met a snail and made him my friend. He rode on my back for awhile. My human didn't like that, and removed him, then said the horrible B word. Then these big red trucks, which were even louder than the noise in the building, drove up. They hung around outside for what felt like forever.

Finally, the big red trucks stopped making all of their noise, and they left. Once they were gone, me and my humans went back upstairs. This time, we used the magic room instead of the stairs. After we were upstairs, and the humans did ... err, something, I'm not clear on that stuff ... my human grabbed me. She took me in the bathroom, locked all the doors, and proceeded to try to drown me.

Bitch! I had been hoping that she had forgotten that she had said the B word earlier. She seemed to think that me rolling around in the damp flowerbeds and meeting my friend the snail meant that I needed a bath. So she got me all wet, then she rubbed this bar of stuff all over me that made my fur start foaming, then she used even more water, then she rubbed something else on me, and then she used still more water. Bitch bitch bitch.

Not only that, after she finished with this horribleness, and then she and the other human had their baths (well, they deserved the torture), she abandoned me! They left me alone for like two hours while I wandered around the apartment and dried off!

I've spent he rest of the day sleeping, since this has been ultra stressful. She tried to make it up to me by brushing me. I might forgive her. Might.

anniversary
Today is my two-year anniversary of being a California kitty. Two years ago today, my human drove us into this state, and we took over our first apartment in south San Jose. I was kinda peeved at her at the time for uprooting me from my home in Atlanta and my co-conspirator Koko there, not to mention having abandoned me for three months while she went off to some other continent, but now I'm happy to be here. I get to sit out on the balcony year-round!

solar panel
My human has opened the balcony door. It's really nice out there in the big room. I think I shall spend the afternoon doing my impression of a solar panel. This is a very hard impression, I haven't met anyone who has mastered it like I have.

adventure

I had an adventure today! My human put my harness and leash on me. We then walked forever (a whole block!), and arrived at ... well, the vet's office. While there, I got to see a puppy and a turtle and a parrot. And the mean nasty vet, but we'll ignore him. He sticks things in me and it just sucks. But then we got to walk home (another block! forever!). She let me sniff around outside.

The coolest part about this is the magic room. We walk into the magic room and wait a little while. Then the doors open, and there's a different room waiting there! When we left our apartment, the magic room took us to the big room. Then, after we were done with the vet and our time in the big room, the magic room took us back to our apartment. How cool is that?

This is too much excitement for one Tipsy to take. It's naptime.

cute

So if I lie next to her and cuddle up and look cute while she's working, I'll at least get some amount of lovin'. It's not enough (it's never enough), but it's better than nothing. And I keep warm. It's cold in here!

How is it, exactly, that there is one human, one cat, and two laptops, but the laptops are getting all of my human's attention and I'm not getting any of it?

I cuddle better than a stoopid laptop any day.

roses and thorns

Rose: My human came home early (well, for her) tonight. We napped together on the sofa when she got home. She has rubbed my belly multiple times.

Thorn: Something's up. The big suitcase is out. So far, the only things that she's put into it aren't hers, it's all of the stuff that the last visitor left here. But I think it's only a matter of time. Which means that she's going to abandon me for some period of time.

Rose: The door to the balcony is open, which means I can go out there and watch the activity in the big room.

Thorn: Why can't I actually go out into the big room?! </p>

Rose: My catbox is nice and clean.

Thorn: I don't like it. Bitch replaced my old one with a new one. Grrr.

stalking

The Most Comfortable Spot In The House(tm) keeps on moving. I had it pinned down, in my chair by the window. But then it moved to the floor, to be in the sunshine. It took me a minute to find it, but my superior stalking powers found it. It didn't stay there long, though, and I'm stalking it again. This is an arduous process of testing out several spots: the back of the sofa, under the bed, warsop's lap, on top of the end table.

bedmouse

Ever since this other human came to visit, there have been extra bedmice around here. I don't get it. My human makes up a bed for this extra human, and suddenly there's all these bedmice in it. I think that my human needs to be better about doing the laundry or something, because this is obviously unsanitary. I don't quite get how this extra human puts up with the bedmice, but I shall do my best to save her from them.

Tipsy is ...
  • used for visualization by the Hydra Consortium
  • a lightweight e-powered parkflyer that will give many hours of flying pleasure in calm conditions or a gentle breeze
  • an interactive X-windows display program with which N-body systems can be manipulated and displayed
  • very stable and can be safely flown at low airspeeds that allows flight in restricted areas
  • a public domain package written at the University of Washington for displaying three-dimensional scatterplots of particle data

  • the queen, alpha bitch and proud of it
  • all about being hip and swanky
  • a full-featured tip calculator
  • one of our permanent denizens

  • still one of the main people behind throwing events and pushing hardcore in Quebec
  • remarkable for its frank portrayal of a modern girl
  • a badass nonetheless
  • enough for me to feel satisfied
  • dull and feels like a blanket tossed over my brain
  • amazing, and more fun than you can beat with a stick
  • like lounge exotica successfully updated for the 90s
  • planning on driving
  • the key to solving all of one's problems
  • a dangerous activity and should probably avoided at night

And my favourite: Tipsy is ... demanding payment for this to be shown at all.
