My kids loved this sweet story about a girl whose Grandparents aren't able to attend Grandparents Day at school. Most kids can relate to this at one time or another. The author does a great job at showing how a child in this situation can work through feelings of disappointment & sadness as well as appreciation for her Grandparents even though they can't be there. The story takes a fun turn as one of the Grandparents makes a surprise "appearance." The illustrations are cute and diverse! And we especially loved the activity in the back of the book that makes this personal to each child! Highly recommend!

What a wonderful book! Frannie is fortunate to have 4 living grandparents but none of them can make it to her school's grandparent's day celebration. Discover her emotions as she handles her disappointment. Readers of all ages will love this cute story. Through the gift of technology, we can be close, even though there might be physical miles between us. Thank you for sharing all the different names of "Grandpa" and "Grandma." This book is a "must" for every family. Be ready for lots of fun discussion.

Loved it all. It’s a wonderful story, and an excellent message for kids and adults. Kids ARE bright and creative at coming up with solutions to everyday quandaries. It’s good to remind grownups to let their kids think of solutions. I loved how the author celebrated seniors, and recognized how cool they can be if you take the time to learn about their histories. I thought the illustrations were terrific. I hope the author has many more stories to tell in partnership with this artist!

I'm crazy about this book! I bought it for the daughter of a friend, and I can't wait to give it to her. It has some good messages: Frannie learns that she's not the only one who has grandparents who can't attend her school's special day; she also realizes how absolutely COOL her outer-space astronaut grandmother is! I like that the grandparents are not depicted as old, but rather as vital people out there working and enjoying life. It's a really fun spin on the typical grandparent books available. There is even an interactive question-and-answer page in the back for kids to fill out. Adorable illustrations as well. I definitely recommend this book!

Imaginative and well illustrated. I’d have liked it to be a bit longer little but I think my granddaughter will really enjoy it!

My grandson & I absolutely love this book!! He is 8 & at this moment his dream is to be an astronaut & he thought it was awesome that “granny” in this story was an astronaut. I loved how the grandparents in this story were portrayed as vibrant & full of life. We are looking forward to more adventures from this fabulous author!
