COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson student-athlete Natalie Wandrie has been tabbed Mid-South Conference softball Player of the Week status for the first time in her career, league officials announced Monday.

The freshman, of Indian River, Michigan, helped lead Lindsey Wilson to four wins last week, including two at (RV) Freed-Hardeman over the weekend to kick-off conference play.

She becomes the second Blue Raider to earn weekly honors from the conference this season, joining fellow freshman Kayden Murray who was named Pitcher of the Week back on February 26.

During the week, Wandrie hit 8-for-20 – 6-for-11 with runners on – with five doubles and two home runs. One of those home runs was an inside-the-park effort against Indiana-Purdue Columbus on Tuesday. Her eight hits drove in 11 runs, including the go-ahead run for the Blue Raiders in their 2-1, extra-inning victory over the Lions on Sunday.

Wandrie actively leads the Mid-South for total doubles and slugging percentage and ranks second for extra-base hits.

On defense, the first-year infielder tallied 12 putouts and 11 assists for the week en route to a perfect fielding percentage. She also helped the Blue Raiders turn two double plays.

Natalie and her Lindsey Wilson teammates return to Marilyn D. Sparks Park on Friday, March 22 and Saturday, March 23 to host (RV) Campbellsville in the "Battle of Highway 55."
