Upcoming opportunity to hear from the Metropolitan Educational Research Consortium (MERC): MERC is hosting its 2nd annual MERC Back to School Seminar Series, offering three different Zoom seminars on a variety of topics pertinent to PK-12 education leaders and practitioners:
 
· Tuesday 9/3, 4:00-5:30 pm ET - 
Understanding the Virginia Literacy Act
Target audience: Literacy specialists, elementary teachers, curriculum coordinators

· Tuesday 10/1, 4:00-5:30 pm ET - Out-of School Time Providers in Urban School Systems (partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond)
Target audience: Anyone in the division that works with community out-of-school time partners or helps facilitate afterschool programs for students

· Tuesday 10/22, 4:00-5:30 pm ET - 
School Dropout Prevention
Target audience: High school counselors and social workers, dropout prevention coordinators, high school administrators and teachers
 
Registration is required. All participants will receive a certificate for 1.5 hours for each seminar to be used towards professional development credit.

Are you new to research-practice partnerships and aren’t sure where to start? We’re bringing back our five-part “RPP 101” online series this fall! Led by Paula Arce-Trigatti, Director of NNERPP, the workshop series consists of five free 60-minute sessions providing an engaging overview of all things RPP for those who are new to RPPs or who want a refresher on the most up-to-date thinking on RPPs.
