A bold, dark, and utteraly sensuous dive into a new world of Werewolves

A bold, dark, and utteraly sensuous dive into a new world of Werewolves
Leo Todrius has written the first in what I hope is a long run of novels dealing with the Echo Creek werewolves. It's part coming-of-age, part dark mystery, and part nontraditional romance—and yet somehow, they manage to come together to form something greater. 'Lykos: First Bite' is a fantastic introduction to anyone looking for a new take on the supernatural characters in the post-high school age, similar to novels like Twilight' or 'Beautiful Creatures'. The difference here is that Leo focuses on an aspect that's usually ignored within the genre: male sexuality. 'Lykos' wholeheartedly embraces the tough and often emotionally destructive aspects of being gay in college, while at the same time marrying those aspects to the physical and mental changes and issues that would probably arise if, say, you were bitten by a werewolf. It's an incredibly unusual perspective to take and while it might seem uneven and strange from the outset, the novel easily settles into its own mythology and provides a near constant stream of entertainment, both sexually and otherwise. 'Lykos: First Bite' is a quick, fun, dark, and rousing work of fiction that broadens the scope of what werewolves can be, and I can't wait to read the next chapter in the story!

This is more than just a book about gay werewolves. It's a book about relationships, finding your place in the world, and how to navigate a world where there are always going to be people out there who want to hurt you.

The relationships between the characters in this book is nothing short of superb. These are the kinds of romantic relationships that everyone ought to inspire to, gay or straight. And what's unique about this book is that it explores a polyamorous relationship in the context of a werewolf pack. That being said, this is definitely x-rated to cater to particular readers, but what a delightful package it comes in.

The arguable main character in the book, Marco Iona, is an inspiring and highly moral character, something you wouldn't expect to find in a werewolf. Definitely not an anti-hero, he just ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time, and it gets thrust into a world known to few. He takes it well, but he never let's his new abilities take advantage over him. He's as selfless as they get.

And of course in a world of werewolves, there are those who want to eradicate them. There are several scenes of conflict with not just the hunters of werewolves, but also of another scarier breed of werewolves called direwolves, and the original supernatural source of the lyncanthropy.

Wrap up those pieces and you get more than just gay smut, you get incredible world building with characters you'll want to stay invested with until the end, praying that everything works out okay.

I cannot recommend this book enough. It'll definitely get you hooked on what Leo Todrius has to offer in the future, hands down.

Pretty please do yourself a favor and read this book. The world of Lykos really is a wonderful world to escape to. Yes the relationships may be gay but that does not detract or should put you off in any way from this wonderful read. The characters have a wonderful depth to them. The world itself is so rich with lore you find out something new each time you read the book. For me this is a world I love to escape to when I'm down as it cheers me up so much to read about these wonderful wolves and the keepers who help keep their world safe. So please give this book a chance you really will not regret it. And thanks Leo for writing such an amazing book.

Most stories in this genre fall upon a predictable chain of events centered around a boring, heterosexual relationship. And the ones that are gay themed lack substance and feel no more than just porn with plot.

What Leo does with his Lykos story is give you a literary meal. You get your hot scenes don't worry but you also get an expansive supernatural world around lovable characters you'll be invested in. There's thrills, chills, and lots of spills if you know what i mean. You'll literally laugh and cry and cheer. Not to mention, if you loved this story as much as i did, there's more where it came from.

I recommend this book to any gay, young adult 18+ who loves the supernatural genre. It'll be one of the most memorable stories you read.

This is definitely one of the better shifter books I’ve read. I’ve been following the author a long time on his website. He’s a great writer. He knows how to perfectly balance plot and sex in this book. I’d recommend this book to anybody who likes gay shifter stories.
