Nevermind 03:03
Hey! Here is an irrefutable place And here is this look on my face Here is the unavoidable in the corner of your mind And here's how to pay it no nevermind You've got a hundred techniques to make shit up You've got a million more to find what you wanna find Or to see what you wanna see So you will never, never, never know Anything you do not want to know, it's easy You just disbelieve Tend to your mind Make it real, make it real a little everyday What do you hear what do you say Make it real, make it real a little everyday Make up your mind Make it real, make it real a little everyday What do you hear what do you say Here are the things that keep you from sleep And here's you jumping back on your feet Here's pushing muscle and blood and bone to keep the ticking clock at bay Still it gets a little closer every day So, you can laugh all you want as the darkness falls But you cannot ignore the call that's above it all Coming from just beyond your walls That says it's really, really, really real And every day is a brand-new deal, it's easy If you stop and see Tend to your mind Make it real, make it real a little everyday What do you hear what do you say Make it real, make it real a little everyday Make up your mind Make it real, make it real a little everyday What do you hear what do you say Are you really listening or are you just hearing Are you really taking it in or are you just seeing Can you feel it can you feel are you really living Is it real yet is it real are you really real-ing Are you really listening or are you just hearing Are you really taking it in or are you just seeing Can you feel it can you feel are you really living Is it real yet is it real are you really real-ing

Tryin to shoot straight like a crossbow But inevitably run out of ammo Yeah I've been tryin to pick up the tempo Then I sat on the stoop and let the day go let it go Spent the day thinkin of our old home Oh Lincoln street was so long ago Slide to the next portamento You think they let our little garden fall fallow Oh I don't know which way the wind will blow tomorrow I wanna know when do we get to New Mexico I just wanna get this show on the road Oh I just wanna go go go I just wanna go go go go Go go go go I just wanna go I couldn't sleep at the weird farm Or at Buffalo Bill's with the heat and the tornado alarm But then a little down the same road Earth jumped up from the sky and it said hello Spent the day walking round slack-jawed I never knew that I could feel this much awe We're climbing up the spine of the world And after every vertebrae more unfurls Ooh I was so intent on racing towards tomorrow But now I need to know Just how slow can this thing go Whatever comes next I don't wanna know Oh I don't wanna know I don't wanna know no no I don't wanna know I don't wanna know I don't wanna know No no no no no no I don't wanna know I don't wanna know I don't wanna know No no no no no no

There's a sycamore at the burnside bridge That's standing tall on the eastern ridge that saw it all Blood in your roots and bullets in bark Was there a lesson that we should have learned? We should have moved into a new phase With a clean break from all the olden days and started over Tore it all down and spread it around Its long past overdue

Potholes 02:00
There's a quiet truth Standing behind you Shadows of your youth Carolina pine trees and a colossal storm and riding in a plane There's a couple years in there I do not expect to ever regain There have been a million me's and they've all played some part in the game So I've been trying to fill in some of the potholes on memory lane There's something back there that I feel like I can barely see I gotta get it out, I've been dreaming about it Its very possible that there's a connection to staying up all fucking night I gotta go to bed goodnight Golden rays of light Dirt roads on your bike Something howled at night See I been diggin round back there but its hazy like some sorta dream I gotta couple images but I cant say what any of em really mean All I know is I felt home and I felt love like part of a team Even though I can't recall I got it all pumping in my bloodstream Sometimes I just wonder how much of it is even real I coulda made it up and forgotten all about it Its very possible that there is a fiction at the center of my fucking life I gotta go to bed goodnight
5.
Try being no one for a time Cuz there ain't nothing to find No version of you more refined Keep looking around if you feel so inclined Just keep one hand on the line You've got brain body movement syntax What more could you hope to find You've already put in the time for a readymade mind Your pain and choices and fear won't disappear But when they present themselves you don't retreat to the rear You persevere Why would you wanna turn back Just keep the winds at your back Enough with the sophistry and the pantomime Try being no one for a time Cuz in your garden of mind Each crop can grow given time And you can decide where your water's assigned Or let 'em wither and rot on the vine I've watched you slice through complexity like butter What're you if not already defined You've already put in the time for a readymade mind Your pain and choices and fear won't disappear But when they present themselves you don't retreat to the rear You persevere Why would you wanna turn back Just keep the winds at your back The person you're looking for has been with you since the moment you came on line So when you hear the call All aboard to everywhere Just know you've already paid the fare Just by being born Slow down you've got time You can take the long way You can take the long way So next time you hear somebody say Life is short Ask 'em compared to what Just tend to your mind Slow down take time You can take the long way You can take the long way

IMURME 03:15
Drowning in deep illusions of fluidity Dreaming that willpower can shape reality Washing away all of the stains of history and setting to sea In vessels we've designed in so many separate minds But we keep them bottled up inside Where they never can combine Never form a line And sunk by time But this isn't a storm that we can weather separately Not a one of our islands stands apart from the raging sea And you can run from the waves and you can curse the winds in futility Or we can become the sea Formed into a towering mass of belief that says IMURME The only way to turn the tide is to confront the deepest lie Step outside of the "I" and let it die So when you build your battlement don't forget the garrison You can try to hold it alone with all your might But you won't last a night But the wheel is not gonna turn because we dream of what could be But the axel's gonna be oiled by some time and necessity If we act was a whole when it begins to roll it is my belief We can steer it towards relief With all our tiny letters formed into a page Our drops formed into waves We can dig in deep and hold on tight And when the time is right We'll get them in our sights And give them one hell of a fight
7.
Ill be fine I swear that I can get out of this bind I need to finally make up my mind I think that I just need a little more time You know you really oughta know by now The pleasure palace is the lowest brow You gotta dig into the here and now To find a way to reappear somehow So all you gotta do is tell me what you need And i'll hold it in the highest of esteem And though I can't conceive of eternity I'll try to be a companion until then
8.
Tautology 00:58
Ok, ok, you've made your point Gonna leave it that way Gonna leave it that way What's that make me Thinking life is ours to choose And what's that make you Thinking life is win or lose Or is this one big tautology Or is it going to be When we see Allegiance lay wide open Love of love love of country One of us wont be making Any more proclamations When we really, really, really, really see The fruit of the poisonous tree Till then i'll just have to say, OK
9.
Vulture 02:24
We got lost and stumbled on the house where all the plans were hatched Now rotting floorboards turkey vultures and swarms of yellow jackets John Brown baby draw your blade we need another Harper's Ferry Glory! Glory! Glory!
10.
Frozen Man 02:36
Calling out, but no-one hears me at all I think I'll stand, but then again, god damn what if I take a fall I sit for hours, until they find me here Even though I feel no pain, I still got a lot to fear Ive been sent through the ringer so many times and I I just feel tired anymore I just can't get up off the floor I am stuck, locked up baby I'm the frozen man (Yes I am, oh catatonic) I got nowhere that I need to be, can you come to me? (Can you come to can you come to me?) I know its never gonna be the same Still I kinda feel like at the very least sometimes you seem delighted by the novelty You are haunted by some alternative course All the things you never did all the lives you never lived You've been sent through the ringer so many times And now you find that you've grown comfortable with change You hope that you'll never feel the same way Your unstuck, bust out new stripes ripping up the plans (Yes I am, I'm a chameleon man) You got no-one that you need to be can't you see you're free? (Can't you see you're can't you see you're free)

Tin Man 01:36
12.
Up late, uptight. Something just don't feel quite right I've been walking around aimlessly on this endless street Reading the signs, got some tequila with lime, and some dilating time Discomposed down to my bones, so I can't stay home take it outside Head down, hood up. I can fade into the night Where my thoughts are not so byzantine amongst the philistines and the rank and file As I beguile their dialectic style What if I never went home again? Do you think maybe I could blend in with the mercantile?
13.
Backdown 01:12
You know I wonder what it feels like Not to spend half the day just wishing away I got a new life now and its less...loud Now there's some kinda space to figure shit out Cuz recently I've been down, I've been out But imma get it together now Unlimited potential in every moment I know now yeah I know now I could run from the sound but then there's nothing holding me down And I already spend enough time with my head up in the clouds Get it back down Down, down, get it down Down, got to get up to get it back down Down, down, get it down I spend too much time above floating round Now's a good time to come back down
14.
Apogee 05:29
How many years have you spent vacillating And how many times has he said he would come back down Do you think he sees you Do you think he knows you Do you think he hears you Hide me hide me hide me Cuz I don't wanna I don't wanna see What happens at the end of this catastrophe Why don't you get yourself get yourself free rapidly You don't wanna spend your life staring out to sea When you could get off at the apogee Ten more seasons and ain't nothing changed I see you hiding yourself away And I seem to recall that fall you said, "Not one more day" guess you found a way Yeah you got your reasons, turn 'em over and over 'till they come out right But why not skip self-deceiving and get to leaving Find me find me find me Cuz I just wanna I just wanna see You take a leap and live the life you wanna leave Why don't you get yourself get yourself free rapidly You don't wanna spend your life wondering what could be When you could reverse all the atrophy ... Why are you worrying over a race you can't run there's nothing to be done let it go Its too straight its too long its too late I'm too gone just wait I'll fake it till I belong Cuz when you look at me like that I feel annihilated I am wearing nothing but bones Did away with the right and the wrong I am the dawn and I feel so unlike me Why am I worrying over a race I can't run there's nothing to be done let it go Its too straight its too long its too late I'm too gone just wait I am right where I belong

about

With Rerun, Mayson invites listeners into a journey that’s as
much a revisiting as it is a transformation. What began in the
summer of 2019 as a burst of creativity—ten one-minute
songs quickly captured and shared online—has evolved into a
full-length album, meticulously woven through the threads of
time, change, and return. Each track on Rerun is a
conversation between past and present, where new
experiences and perspectives respond to the raw inspiration
of that nervous and exciting summer. Through his experience
of leaving Minneapolis, returning to school, changing careers
and finally coming back to both the city and his music,
Mayson’s journey finds itself echoed in each song, creating a
sense of déjà vu with fresh insight—like an episode you've
seen before that feels both familiar and newly profound—a
time capsule; a reprise; a Rerun!
