Run.
My only refuge is a place I vowed to never go again.

Besides, he won’t be there anyway.
But he is.
Turns out my old pain feels brand new the second his eyes meet mine.
I can’t leave. I can’t stay.
This snowy town that’s supposed to be my shelter
suddenly exposes me more than before.
With no one else to lean on, Liam becomes my lifeline.
Now we’re both running for our lives,
trying not to get swept away.

About the author

Cambria Hebert is a bestselling novelist of more than fifty titles. She went to college for a bachelor’s degree, couldn’t pick a major, and ended up with a degree in cosmetology. So rest assured her characters will always have good hair.
Besides writing, Cambria loves a pumpkin spice latte, staying up late, sleeping in, and watching K drama until her eyes won’t stay open. She considers math human torture and has an irrational fear of chickens (yes, chickens). You can often find her running on the treadmill (she’d rather be eating a donut), painting her toenails (because she bites her fingernails), or walking her chihuahuas (the real bosses of the house).
Cambria has written in many genres, including new adult, sports romance, male/male romance, sci-fi, thriller, suspense, contemporary romance, and young adult. Many of her titles have been translated into foreign languages and have been the recipients of multiple awards.

Loved it!
Reviewed in Australia on 30 March 2018Loved it! I was in the mood for a good new adult romance and this was perfect. I love Cambria Hebert’s Hashtag series (well Romeo & Rimmel’s story – it is one of my all-time favorites) and Avalanche is very reminiscent of that. Liam is an amazing hero. Protective and caring. He always puts Bellamy first and never doubts his feelings towards her. Bellamy is a very likeable heroine. She is sweet, strong and just as protective of Liam as his is of her. I also really liked that it was set in a ski resort town. It was something different for me. The suspense side of the story was good too but not quite as strong as the romance. Highly recommend if you enjoyed the Hashtag series. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

*3 Stars*
Reviewed in Australia on 28 May 2023I enjoyed this one, but I didn't connect with it the way I would have liked. Bellamy sure has a lot going on in her life. Her connection with Liam is pretty strong, although it does kind of seem a bit too "insta-love" as well. I liked the characters and the storyline, but maybe it was just missing that little extra oomph for me. In saying that, I would still continue this series as it felt like it abruptly ended (I didn't realise it was a continuing series, not standalones withhin a series) and be interested in seeing what happens next with these two and also Alex.

Avalanche of trouble
Reviewed in Australia on 28 October 2018A chance meeting between teenagers on the slopes was perhaps meant to be. Set in a picturesque little high country town and ski resort picks up when the love struck teenagers meet again as troubled adults. There is suspense, danger and romance in this book. It has a Hea, for now.

Another excellent series
Reviewed in Australia on 27 February 2019This first novel is a very promising start to another series and has me hooked! Warm, realistic characters, danger, bravery, love, and all you could wish for in a romantic crime adventure. I’m looking forward to starting book #2.

Sweet with a side of suspense!
Reviewed in Australia on 31 March 2018There aren’t many Cambria Hebert books I don’t fall hard and fast for. She dominates the new adult genre and Avalanche is a prime example of why. If you’re a fan of NA novels and enjoy a side of suspense with your romance than Avalanche might be a book for you.
The suspense lover in me was absolutely captivated by Avalanche from the opening scene. What a killer prologue it was. The chills. The angst. It was all on point. My only wish was for that level of suspense and mystery to continue throughout the entire book. Unfortunately it didn’t. In saying that, the action and suspense did pick up towards the end, which definitely peaked my interest again.
This second chance romance has a strong insta-love feel which while I didn’t hate it, I didn’t love it either. But seriously, it was impossible not to adore Liam and Bellamy both as a couple and individually. I was also too invested in where this story was headed to let the insta-love feel really bother me.
One thing about Avalanche that really stood out for me was the way Miss Hebert scripted such amazing imagery. I could picture it all. The resort. The town. The room where Bellamy and Liam meet again for the first time in years. It allowed the story to feel wildly real, and I loved that.
With a mystery to sink your teeth into. A big, shaggy dog to love. A charming best friend you’ll want more of. And of course, Bellamy and Liam and all the feels. Avalanche is a solid story with the best of everything. Humour. Suspense. Action. Romance. But most of all, love.
While I may not have loved everything about Avalanche, I devoured it and can not wait to see what else is brewing for Liam and Bellamy.

Avalanche has it ALL, and so much more. All the stars for Cambria Hebert’s most recent release!
“I vowed to never return, even to get back the chunk of my heart that had unfortunately stayed behind. Even after all these years, I knew it was still here. I felt it.”
Bellamy Cutler is no stranger to hardship. But one emotionally-charged decision changes her fate. She is strong, smart and selfless; even in the face of danger. Cue the one and only Liam Mattison. Hot damn!! He was everything I could have possibly wanted.
Avalanche is fast-paced, and will keep you on your toes. I started reading this one and BAM … I was already halfway through the book. You will not able to put it down!! Liam and Bellamy share an intense connection. Chemistry that was undeniable upon their first meeting and only grown as they find their way back to each other.
“Thought about me, did you?” Every. Single. Day.
I not only fell in love with Liam, Bellamy & Charlie (gah, his dog stole my heart), but I adored the entire BearPaw Resort family! I can’t wait to read more from these characters.

Twinmum665 out of 5 starsif you like Snow, big soft, cuddly, dogs, roaring fires and hot chocolate and second chances youl love this.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 April 2018Ive read everything Cambria Herbert has written and loved every single word, she can write about most things and has, one thing she always gets the same reaction from me though is i always love the characters she writes about but not just the leading ones, she has a great ability to really bring out the true, real, and rawness of each one. what i especially liked about this second chance romance was they didnt faff about till the end of the book wasting time and energy, they got it sorted straight away, and i loved that, to many times ive read books and its taken 90% of the book to get their acts together and then its over for u, i always feel like im left wondering, but not with this one nope, they sorted their selves out so now you can focus properly on their story as it unfolds without thinking oh come on or will they wont they, dont get me wrong i like that but this was a nice change for me. I like Liam for his honesty, there is no confusion with him, he kind of says it like it is and leaves it at that, how he is very protective of Bellamy and not once did he hesitate to step in and help from the minute he first laid eyes on her again. Bellamy tugged at my heart a little, but is she a survivor or what, i dont think she actually realises just how much inner strength she has. Aaaaannnnd lets not forget Charlie :). cant wait for the next one. id like to say i liked the cover photo when i first saw it but after reading the book i love it it fits so well, but i do find Cambria tends to get her cover photos just right any way.

Jordan5 out of 5 starsAvalanche is a epic swoon-worthy kind of story. It's a fresh, thrilling, sweet new series to dive into!
Reviewed in the United States on 26 March 2018Bellamy has run back to the town of Caribou, Colorado, to the BearPaw Resort. The place she once found love and heartbreak. It's a place she never saw herself coming back to. But she feels safe on this mountain, surrounded by the memories of her father, and moments spent with a guy she thought was her everything. Bellamy's time at the resort wasn't all happy, but she's willing to face the past, in order to survive.
That's all Bellamy has been doing the past two years, surviving. Danger is following her. Always. BearPaw Resort is a good start for her to collect herself, keep a low profile, and plan for her next move. But that plan comes to a halt when she is face to face with the boy, who is now a man, that she loved and lost all at once, years earlier. The memories of them have been with her all this time, and being back and in Liam's presence, it feels like nothing has changed. But after eight years apart, it has. The chemistry between them is more intense. Stronger.
Liam Mattison, former snowboarding pro, is working at his fathers resort, after a injury that has kept him out of the sport. He is trying to heal and get his head straight. He has choices to make, a path to choose. Snowboarding has always been his passion. But now Liam is trying to find who he is after his injury, and what he wants. The last thing he saw coming was the girl who ran from his eight years ago. He instinctively knows Bellamy is in trouble and instantly, after all the years apart, knows he will fight to protect her.
Running, hiding, looking over her shoulder is all Bellamy has know the past two years, and Liam is determined to change that. He vows to protect, to fight for the woman who has always owned his heart, the one who got away, but who was never forgotten. And now with Bellamy back, Liam will be dammed if anything or anyone tries to take her away. Misunderstandings, timing, and regret kept them apart all this time. And with this unknown danger shadowing Bellamy, Liam knows he'll have to be strong and patient, and face his own pain and unknowns, if he and Bellamy have a shot at the something epic that has always been between them.
Bellamy and Liam share a really special kind of bond. And now they have a second chance. To explore what started all those years ago. But will the danger following Bellamy and the unknown future for Liam pull them closer together or tear them apart for ever.
A Second chance at love and life. Avalanche is a epic swoon-worthy kind of story. It's a fresh, thrilling, sweet new series to dive into. Funny and captivating characters, a fantastic setting, and a on the edge of your seat plot. Cambria Hebert writes some of the best swoon-worthy, alpha male leads. And Liam is one to add to that list. He's charming, stubborn and a fierce protector. Bellamy is so special. I loved her. She's scared and alone, but a fighter, sassy and just as fierce as Liam to protect. The connection between these two will have you falling head over heels in love with them.

➳ Raj4 out of 5 starsSuspense and Second Chance Love at BearPaw Resort!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 April 2018Avalanche was my first read by Cambria Herbert despite having Nerd on my kindle still unread, I know I know it’s now bumped up after reading Avalanche lol. From the get go the suspense in this book sucked me in and I was on the edge of my seat. My heart race increased as scenes played out vividly as if I was there!
Bellamy is that girl on the run seeking refuge where she had her heart broken at BearPaw resort. Thinking it had been eight years since she last saw Liam, a professional snowboarder and Olympic medallist that she would be safe and could stay hidden, that is until they cross paths leaving her feeling exposed and unresolved feelings resurface between them, leading to a second chance at love with Liam intent on not letting her get away. I loved Liam’s character he was so sweet, protective, thoughtful, sexy and possessive. The snowboarding action from him was a plus!
I have to say I was totally invested in this story from reading the blurb to the opening pages. Once Bellamy and Liam see each other the elements of suspense and second chance just flowed with excitement and sexual tension. Charlie the dog and the backdrop of the winter resort just gave this book such a different vibe to it that I absolutely loved it!
The only thing I didn’t like was ugh the name Bellamy for a female heroine, I just kept thinking of it as a male name. I also thought this was a standalone book for this couple, so when the book kind of ended like a cliff-hanger I was left confused and desperate for more. Having said that I am still going to one click the next book if this is a series, and oh yeah I can't forget Alex who totally needs his own book because he was hilarious, and I loved the banter and bond he had with Liam!
