A better future for girls
Across the globe countless girls are growing up in a world that does not see them as equal.
For many of the girls, their future is out of their control.
Persisting inequality and discrimination means that millions of girls around the world will grow up into women who missed out on an education.
We know that without education, girls are more likely to become trapped in the cycle of poverty and are at high risk of child marriage, early pregnancy, sexual violence and trafficking.
Without intervention the cycle of poverty and discrimination continues, generation after generation.
An equal world is not only possible, it is crucial to our shared future.
But it is up to us to transform our world into a place where girls can grow into women without facing discrimination, poverty, and violence.
A place where they have the opportunity and autonomy to decide what their future looks like.
UN Women is working tirelessly across the globe every single day, striving for equal rights for women and girls and an better, more equal world for us all, but we cannot acheive this alone.
