Tshwane metro police make R1.5m drug bust on N1
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
The Tshwane metro police seized a consignment of dagga worth R1.5 million in Samrand, Centurion, on Wednesday.
The consignment was being transported in a trailer disguised as a fuel tank.
The load was intercepted by TMPD officers on the N1 while travelling to Johannesburg.
Two suspects have been arrested.
Tshwane metro police chief Yolanda Faro said the bust was made following a tip-off.
"Although we have not weighed it yet, the dagga is estimated to be around 1.5 million. We want to send a very harsh message to the drug smugglers that we will not leave any stone unturned.”
