He pulled it out of his mouth and waved it like a magic wand, announcing, "Well, here we are again."

"You do this often?" Wanda asked, curiously. Now that the immediate threat was taken care of her sour mood was improving.

"He keeps making bids for supreme power," Bobby said. "But THIS scheme, I gotta admit, is a serious step up from his usual. I notice you didn't have your little thief friend tagging along," he noted, addressing Gunther. "Shame. He's cute."

"Stop teasing the god, Bobby," Becca called in the long suffering tone of an older sister. "It's tacky."

"The god hangs out with a thief?" Laura asked.

"Cajun with a nice tuckas. Some sort of ties to the X-Men... but then again, who DOESN'T have ties to the X-Men?" Bobby shrugged. "Probably realized what a bad idea this was."

Gunther glared, mumbling something around the gag that Benji had thoughtfully stuffed into his mouth, and that Bobby had magically reinforced.

With a small sigh Wanda said, "So, what are we going to do with him?" waving at the young god almost dismissively. "Whatever you've got planned you should do it now, before he recovers. Ray'd probably think annoying a helpless god would be hilarious and, while it probably would be, I doubt you want him that pissed off when he gets loose again."

"We're taking him back," Bobby said. "Just as soon as Benji stops playing with the damn dimensional gate that it took me a VERY LONG TIME TO DRAW, BENJAMIN PARKER."

The spider-themed hero jumped back from the chalk drawing on the ground, looking sheepish. "Sorry..."

"The longer we stay, the thinner the dimensional barriers get, and worse still, the weaker I get, magically. Could you give me a hand powering this up, Wanda?"

"My pleasure," Wanda replied with a smile. "It's actually kind of nice to have someone around who can work magic without being disrupted by my powers."

"The pleasure is all mine," Bobby said, just before being pelted with a small rock that bounced off his head, flung by Becca.

"No flirting with your alternate universe sister."

"That's not flirting! I wasn't flirting!"

"Yesh oo were," Gunther accused from around his gag.

"Can we get this over with before things get disturbing? Jayna pleaded.

"Hmph, you're no fun," Wanda replied.

"Sisters, what can you do?" Bobby sighed dramatically.

"Please get this done before you do something stupid like knock up someone from this dimension up," Bruce sighed.

"We'd have to do something more than just talk for that to happen," Ray said, zipping over from where he'd been talking with some of the others.

"I have proof otherwise," Becca assured the speedster, who was quickly pounced on by Ray-Ray, who was giggling and she 'clung to the super-fast Canadian. "We call him Hal.

"I was FIVE, let it go!" Bobby protested. "Anyway, Wanda, just place your hands in those circles there and focus on pouring your power into the gateway."

Wanda gave Bobby a little salute and said, "Can do!"

Ray leaned over and whispered into Ray-Ray's ear, "Fifty bucks says this backfires and we get trapped in the past or something."

"No bet," Ray-Ray whispered back, nipping the tip of Ray's ear briefly. "Believe it or not, my dumb ass cousin actually knows what he's doing. Most of the time."

"Perhaps, but Wanda has a habit of screwing up other spellcasters. If this works properly it'll be a first,"

"Well, just in case, you got a pen on you?"

Ray gave a quick glance down at his skin tight uniform and then said, "Uh, no. But give me a sec and I can find one"

"Get some paper, too," she suggested.

"Rachel, the no flirting thing extends to you too!" Becca barked.

"Whaaaaaaaaaat? It's not like I'm related to him!" she protested.

"Yeah!" Ray protested as well, now hiding the previously mentioned pen and paper behind his back.

Ray-Ray grabbed both while Becca was distracted by the two Benjamin Parkers getting into the start of a row with Bruce Jameson and Mr. Marvel over costume materials, jotting down her phone number and address. "Just in case you ever wind up in my neck of the woods."

Ray shot her a mischievous grin and slipped the paper into his pants, out of sight of the others.

"I saw that," David Storm said from behind them.

"Yes, and?" Ray-Ray retorted. "What's the harm?"

"He just wants to let me know he's got blackmail material ready," Ray said dismissively. "Don't worry about it, happens all the time."

"The secret to true long-lasting friendship is two parts affection, one part shared experiences and two parts blackmail," David said cheerfully before wandering past them towards where the other guys were arguing.

Bobby stepped back from the now glowing chalk drawing, looking into the swirling iris in the center. "Okay, portal's up!" he announced. "Time to test it." He ambled over to Gunther. "Who wants to do the honors?"

"Do we just push him in?" Laura asked.

"Push, kick, toss, whatever."

At that Ray's eyes lit up and a big grin spread across his face, he raised his foot to kick the god into the portal. Before he could actually do it though his foot seemed to keep rising of it's own accord and he ended up hovering upside-down. Ray shot a glare at Wanda, who had a hand raised and was clearly the one responsible. "Hey, what gives?"

"Do NOT kick the god," Wanda commanded. "The last thing we need is for him to rip his way back here looking for revenge."

"He tried to rip out my tongue!" Raymonde argued with a pout.

"He's an evil god," Benji pointed out. "They do that kinda thing."

"One of you could kick him for him," Ben pointed out. "It'd make him feel better."

"Oooh, lemme-" Dexter said. One could almost see a wicked gleam in is eye through the helmet that covered his head.

"Under no circumstances," Becca told her armor clad teammate flatly. She marched up to Gunther, looking him up and down, then picked him up and tossed him through the portal the way most people would discard a candy wrapper. "There will be no punting of gods."

"You're no fun," Ray said to Becca before turning his attention back to his team leader," You can let me down any time now, you know."

"But the view is so nice," Bobby pointed out with a mock pout.

"Stop it," Becca growled, herding her brother towards the portal.

"He's not wrong," Wanda said with a smirk before releasing her hold on Raymonde. He stopped his fall right before hitting the ground, "Ah, the curse of being pretty," Ray said with false sadness as he righted himself.

"We're leaving!" Becca called insistently, "before we do any more damage to reality! And before you all drive me completely mad!"

"So, it's been fun," Bobby said as Becca continued her herd him towards the portal. "Look us up if you're ever in our reality, and-"

Whatever he was going to say was cut off as Becca kicked him into the portal, then jumped in after him.

"It's bad enough just being a prince."

"It's not like aliens don't try to mess with our families anyway," Laura pointed out with a dismissive shrug, "might as well do what you can."

"Do they come after you often?" I was never really clear on the motivation there."

"Not so much anymore," Laura answered. A moment later she added, "Of course that might have something to do with the fact that the Empire pissed off a few too many cosmic powers all at once and is now busy scrapping itself up and trying to put itself back together. But they were pretty fixated on getting us for a while, we even had to go to them to make sure they understood that we wanted to be left alone."

"And that actually worked?" Bobby asked, surpirsed. "Cool."

"Like I said, it helps that they pretty much got squished around that time. We even did some of it ourselves," Laura explained. "We'll see if they got the message if they recover."

"Any problems with the Shi'ar?" Bobby asked.

"Not lately. They've been pretty quiet since they killed Jean Grey," Laura replied with a shrug. Even when they had been actively interested in Earth she'd never really had to deal with them personaly.

"How many times has she died in this universe? Just out of curiosity?" Bobby asked.

"Do you have a calculator?" Laura said, rolling her eyes. "But this one's probably for good. The Phoenix Force apparently found a new host to live in and has been behaving since then."

"Same thing happened to us, but she stopped at five in our universe," Bobby added.

"I am a bit worried that we don't know who exactly it decided to go to," Laura said, a touch of fear in her voice.

"You don't have anyone who can track her?" Bobby asked, surprised.

"Not really, she just kind of vanished," Laura answered with a helpless shrug. "The Phoenix is pretty much power incarnate, capable of doing almost anything it wants, if it wants to hide there's not much we can do."

"Very true," Bobby conceded. "Okay, who are your X-Men? What strange new directions has the Summers clan taken?"

After taking a few moments to think about it laura replied, "Well, in the latest generation, there's Rachel, Nate, Ethan, Helena and Cody for the Summers clan. Not sure who else exactly is an X-Man though, I dont spend a lot of time with them. You'd be better off asking ray when we get him back, he hangs around the mansion a lot."

"We've got a Rachel and a Nate." Bobby said, ticking things off on his fingers. "And a Christian, he's a Frost-Summers. Oh, and a half-demon Summers spawn named Daemon."

"They're breeding with demons now?" Laura asked with definite surprise. "That's a new one, unless you count Polaris."

"She's dead in our universe. Went with Cyclops and the White Queen," Bobby added.

"They're all still alive in ours," Laura said. After a second she added, "Not that they haven't been dead at various points, it just doesn't stick."

"It's stuck so far with them," Bobby said. "How about your Starsmores? We've got an Angel and a Zeke."

"We've only got one, Eliza, but she's enough of a handful to count as two," Laura said, rolling her eyes at the thought of the young woman in question. Laura might not be as familiar with the X-Men as the others but that woman's reputation was well know and, if what Raymonde told them was true, very well earned. And from those few times they'd met she had no reason to doubt it.

"Ooh, Zeke's more than enough of a handful," Bobby said with a look that someone could have almost called 'fond'.

"They can be fun, can't they?" Laura said with a small grin.

"Well, the empathic ones anyway. Angel..." His eyes took on a distant look. "Angel's not on the side of the angels, if you'll pardon the pun."

"Seems to be a pattern with Angels," Laura pointed out.

"God knows I don't want to be an angel when I die," Bobby sang softly.

"Going to be a bad little boy, hmm?" Laura asked Bobby teasingly.

"As my dear sister would assure you, I am absolutely awful," Bobby said with what sounded like a hint of pride."But that's just because she's a prude."

"Not to mention kind of a bitch. No offense," Laura added almost as an after thought.

"Not just any bitch," Bobby corrected. "Becca is a certifiable, grade A Alpha Bitch. Personally I blame it on her being first born. That and her being Kl'rt's favorite."

"Heh, must be a family thing 'cause Wanda's the same," Laura said with a nod. "Oh, and who is Kl'rt?"

".... the Super Skrull." Bobby said. "About ye tall generally, all the powers of the Fantastic Four, Frenched Ben Grimm at my parents' wedding in my universe."

"Oh....him," Laura said, her mood darkening noticably as she said it.

"That is the tone of someone who has not experianced him as a positive role model. Lemme guess... tried to kidnap one or both of you?"

"Yes, and he almost succeded," Laura said, angered at the memory. "Then we got mad."

"Our Kl'rt always lived in appropriate terror of what would happen if he so much as looked at any of us funny." Bobby clucked his tongue, shaking his head.

"Our's didn't get the chance, his first attempt was his last as well," Laura explained with a self satisfied smirk.

"Good policy."

"It seems to be fairly effective, though the Empire didn't appreciate us killing him."

"Our universe's Skrulls haven't been unified enough to have an Emperor... which is probably why we always had more problems with the goddamn Shi'ar."

"Shi'ar huh? What was that like?" Laura asked, curious.

"My youngest brother still has the scar from when a Shi'ar assassin blew a hole in his chest."

Laura winced at that, "Sounds nasty."

"Was. Is."

"If the opportunity presents itself I recomend sicking the Phoenix on them, it wprked wonders for us."

"I try to avoid cosmic entity types. Bruce is bad enough, and he's only got a fraction of the power of the Stargod," Bobby explained.

"I wasn't recomending bonding with it," Laura explained, "that's a sure path to trouble. You're right about cosmic entities being a pain though, Galactus given you guys any trouble lately?"

"Last anyone heard, he was stalking Ego the Living Planet."

"Better than trying to munch on Earth. Our's has a new herald with a grudge against a lot of alien powers," Laura said, a touch of worry in her voice.

"Oh God. Is there anything more obnoxious than a Herald? They think they's special." He laughed. "I think there may be more Herlads than there are Guthries."

"But not quite as many as there are Summers," Laura countered with a grin. The Summers family's size and constant series of insane events had become sort of a running joke throughout the hero community, addmittedly a great deal of that was directly due to Raymonde's enjoyment of making fun of them.

"Not in our universe. I think it's part of a plan for global domination."

"I wouldn't put it past them," Luara said, glad to be back on a lighter topic.

"So, about your speedster..." Bobby began.

"Ray? What about him?"

"He single?"

Laura chuckled, "Last time I checked. A relationship would get in the way of him climbing on top of anything with a pulse. or underneath. Or in-between. You get the idea."

"Sounds like my kind of guy." Bobby paused. "He's not a Shepard, is he? Cause that would be weird."

"Nope, he's a Beaubier and a Drake, but not a Shepard," Laura confirmed.

"... a Drake?"

"As in Bobby Drake, you know, Iceman?" Laura clarified.

Bobby just stared at Laura for a long moment, then burst out into giggles. "Oh, Zeke is going to love hearing this. And Lucian. I have to tell him when I get back."

"Oh?"

"Lucian is my universe's resident Beaubier. He's... lets just say his expression will be worth everything I'm going through now."

"Is he Northstar's kid too?" Laura asked, curious. After all, if she and Wanda had alternate universe siblings, the odds were good the others might as well.

"No, he's Aurora's," Bobby corrected. "But Northstar raised him, since she's... y'know."

"Completely batshit crazy?" Laura finished bluntly.

"Yup."

"Don't tell Ray I said that," Laura said. "He's somewhat protective of his family and what people say about them. Plus he might tell Violet and that would just be.....bad"

"This Violet would be Aurora's, then?"

"Yup, and she's a spoiled little bitch with way, WAY too much power," Laura explained with a look of distain. The few times she'd been unfortunate enough to interact with Violet had been more than enough to last her a lifetime.

"It's never a good thing when I'm not the most powerful being in the room," Bobby deadpanned. "Okay, you've been good about answering my questions. Anything you want to know?"

"Hmmm, what are the rest of your family like?"

Bobby took a deep breath and let it out in a sigh. "Jeff's... the sane one. He always knows the right word to say at just the right time to diffuse the situation. And somehow, he turned out nice. He gets it from Dad. He's also the one who looks like a Skrull in his natural form. Nate... Nate worries me. He puts on a good front, but I think the only person he actually cares about is Hal. That's Henry Lang. He's my fault."

"Your fault?"

"I was five, and my powers had already started to develop, and I thought that Aunt Cassie would make a really good mom... so I pulled a Half-Wanda."

"You got yourself pregnant with Cassie's children?" Lauta asked confused.

"Half-Wanda. This is generally meant to imply that I caused someone to become pregnant by a robot through unconcious use of my powers."

"Didn't Wanda impregnate herself on purpose? So wouldn't a half-Wanda be be either doing to yourself by accident or doing it to someone else on purpose?" Lauar asked.

"I was always told that is was an unconcious use of her powers."

"Nope, she did it on purpose, at least that's what I've heard. I don't get to talk to her much and it's not exactly a subject anyone's eagre to bring up." Laura said. "Although the fact that the kids were maintained by her powers was an accident"

"Facinating..."

"Basically she had a lot of built up magic energy and hexed herself so that she could have kids with the Vision." Laura continued. "Because, surprisingly, sex with a robot doesn't lead to babies."

"Gasp. Shock." Bobby deadpanned.

"Unless our family is involved. Even the Summerses haven't managed that yet."

"They need to breed with the Guthries so as to aquire the Guthrie Super-Sperm, THEN try with robots," Bobby suggested.

"....you realize you just doomed that to happen, right?"

"It's inevitable. And I have it on good authority that in my universe, a Guthrie and a Summers are sleeping together. They're both guys, but when as that stopped anything?"

"Oh, they are so doomed now. Personally, I blame you."

"I've been hearing that a lot lately."

"Really?" Laura asked playfully, "Been naughty lately?"

"Always, dear lady."

Jayna looked over at the others and asked, "Okay, what the hell just happened?"

"Short version?" the male reality warper in scarlet asked. "An Asgardian god from another dimension just hijacked the the brains of all the male superheroes except for me and is probably going to use them to cause a massive amount of havoc."

The three women just stared at the man in disbelief until Wanda finally said, "Excuse me, did I hear you correctly when you said you let a god into our world? One who is now controlling our friends and trying to take over?"

"Let? I didn't let Gunther do anything. It's not like I've got him on a leash, or he calls me up whenever he gets one of this ideas into his head! Why aren't your defenses better against this kind of thing?"

Protean cleared his throat. "Less bitchy, Bobby."

"Hey, we've got our gods under control, you don't see any of them rampaging through your world do you? You know why? Because We actually know what we're doing," Wanda shot back at the white haired man.

"You could be a bit less bitchy too," Protean growled

"I don't recall asking for your opinion," Wanda snapped at him.

"He's right, though," Laura interrupted. "We need to focus, there's a god controlling our teammates into doing who knows what right now."

"What can your guys do?" Protean asked. "We're going to have to take them down if we're going to get to Gunther."

"He'll start by gathering more followers," Bobby added. "Men. He can't really control women."

"Marvel's got super strength, invulnerability and can fly, Intuition's kind of strong, good reflexes and a borderline precog, Northern Light's got speed, flight and energy discharges and Acid, well, dissolves anything he can touch," Laura explained, having decided to trust the strangers, for the time being anyway. Besides, it's not like everyone from their world didn't already know what they could do.

"While we're on the subject, is there a reason the two of you escaped his control?" Wanda asked the only two men to have escape Gunther's control suspiciously.

"That's none of your business."

The speedster made a disgusted noise, and Bobby rolled his eyes. "Please. Who are they gonna tell?" He elbowed the shape-shifter gently. "Show a little trust?"

"I don't do trust, Robert Stephan."

"Hey, we just told you what all of our guys can do," Laura pointed out, annoyed that the other team wasn't returning the trust she'd shown them just moments ago.

Protean growled something decidedly uncomplimentary in what sounded suspiciously like Skrullos.

"Just. Do. It!" the speedster snapped.

"Fine. Fine!" The muscular male shuddered, his body twisting and shrinking, his hair growing shorter along with his body, until what was left standing there was a slight, rather ordinary looking young woman. She continued to glare, as if challenging anyone to comment. "I'm Rebecca Altman-Kaplan. And you are...?"

The three women stared in shock for a few seconds as the knowledge sunk in. Laura lifted her hand to her mouth to try and stop the laughter she was desperately trying to fight back.

"This is just typical," Jayna said "What other family could be this damn difficult to work with?"

Wanda simply raised an eyebrow and said, "Yes, I can see why you'd prefer to disguise yourself under such circumstances."

Rebecca bristled visibly (the new spikes were a sure sign of it), and grew again. "It's called a secret identity for a reason. Unlike some," she looked pointedly at Wanda's chest, "I like to have a life outside of the scanty costume."

"Who was it who was telling me to be less bitchy earlier?" Bobby asked, sotto voice.

"Yes, well, not all of us are quite given the option to hide who we are, some just have to live with it. And as for my costume," Wanda replied coolly, "I believe you'll find that every inch of me is covered,"

"By what, body paint?" which earned a few snickers from Wanda's teammates.

"My head hurts," Bobby muttered. "Becca-"

"Little Brother, I can and will punt you all the way back home."

"Looks can be deceiving, as you yourself should be well aware. Of course, if my appearance bothers you I can fix that," Wanda said and suddenly where there had appeared to be only skin, now was completely covered by her uniform. "There, is that better? I know I can be intimidating to lesser women."

"Okay, I for one have had enough for the catfight," the speedster snapped. "Have you all forgotten that our friends are being controlled by an evil god who is bent on global domination? AndthenextpersonwhobringsupwhosfaultitisisgettingasuperspeedWEDGIE!"

"She's right, Wanda, just let it go," Laura agreed. "We'll have plenty of time to figure out who's the bigger bitch one we've kicked some divine ass."

Jayna stepped up beside the green skinned woman and said, in a tone that was absolutely serious," And anyone who insists on acting like a bratty child will get far more than their underwear lodged someplace unpleasant."

"My head," Bobby moaned quietly, rubbing his temples. "I think..." He dropped to his knees, clutching his head. "I think something's wrong with me.

So far, they seemed fairly evenly matched when it came to outright speed, and he could make things explode (something she wasn’t used to having to counter, but so far she seemed to be doing alright), and he had her outclassed when it came to raw strength (of course, lots of people did). If things weren’t so very serious, she might have been turned on herself. Also, he had one of the most eye burningly bad costumes she’d ever seen, which helped dampen any interest.

Just keep moving, she thought, and keep blocking his blasts until someone’s free to help me because otherwise I’m a gooey smear.

At the moment, it was looking like Becca was her best bet. She was mopping the proverbial floor with the other team’s spell caster. But her cousin would be far more likely to swoop to Wally’s rescue, since he was getting his ass handed to him by some action chick. At any other time, seeing that might have been somewhat gratifying.

Maybe if Bobby would stop trying to explain things to Thong-Boy...

But Bobby seemed to have other things on his mind than kicking that amazingly bare ass.

Benji seemed to be winning against the other web slinger, but he really wouldn’t be much good going up against a speedster. And the other guys’ She-Hulk or whatever was already peeling Dexter out of his armor.

Ray-Ray had lost track of Bruce, up until the point where a massive blast nearly sent the green furred lycanthrope crashing right into her. It wasn’t much of a distraction, but it slowed her down enough for the badly costumed speedster to catch up with her.

And that was when everything went to hell.

That was when Gunther, God of who-only-knew (he often insisted that it wasn’t gays, but there was a lot of debate about that) finally appeared.

That was when the other speedster suddenly stopped, looking like someone had hit him upside the head with a 2x4.

“Oh shit.”

“Now will you people listen to me?” Bobby groused.

Wanda had been clear when she'd sent for them that this would be a mission so they were all already dressed in their uniforms, waiting with growing curiosity over what the situation could be. Things had been fairly quite recently, hero-wise, nothing more than the occasional fourth rate villain making a play for some attention in the last two months, certainly nothing that had required the full team's attention. Finally the door slid open and Wanda entered the room, dressed like the rest of them in full uniform.

"People, we've got a big problem," Wanda said, confident she had her team's attention.

"What's happened?" Jayna asked, her featureless mask displaying none of the worry that was clear in her voice.

"A few hours ago I sensed a great disturbance," Wanda began.

"As if millions had cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced?" Raymonde joked.

"As if someone or something of immense mystical power had forced itself into our reality," Wanda clarified, her tone making it clear she did not appreciate the joke.

"You're sure?" Ben asked, sliding down from where he'd been perched on the wall.

Wanda nodded, "It's not exactly a subtle thing. It sent shockwaves through reality itself that was probably felt by every mystic on Earth."

"How big a problem are we talking about?" David asked, leaning against the table they were gathered around.

"I'm not sure, but forcing your way through dimensional barriers isn't an easy thing to do. Whatever or whoever we're dealing with has a hell of a lot of power and is well versed in how to use it," Wanda explained.

"Has there been any word of anything strange happening?" Freddy asked.

"Not so far," Wanda replied, tapping some keys on the console in front of her, causing a map to appear on a nearby screen. "This is the area where it occurred. We're going to go and check it out. If we're lucky it will turn out to be peaceful, perhaps an explorer of some sort but if it's hostile we need to be ready to contain it until we can send it back."

"There is the possibility that there could be multiple travelers," Jayna suggested.

Wanda nodded in agreement and said, "Quite possible. We have no idea what we're getting into her so we're going to do this slowly and carefully. Hope for the best but be ready for the worst." Her gaze met each of her people, who nodded their understanding and then said, "Alright, let's do this."

Rowena paused in her kneading of the dough in front of her, one thick black eyebrow rising.

“You remember Gunther?” he asked, unfolding himself from where he had been sitting and meditating.

“The godling,” the immortal said. “Pretty boy. Tends to do stupid things.”

“I think he’s found a way to breach the walls of the realities, and has crossed over into an alternate timeline,” Bobby said. “I need to go.”

“Be back in time for the dinner rush.”

****

“Why do these things only ever seem to happen when the parental units are out of reach?” Becca asked sullenly.

“I don’t see what the big deal is,” Bruce growled, shifting to something between his real form and his Wolfman Jack persona. “It’s just Gunther. We’ve kicked his ass lots of times.”

Bobby looked at Bruce, his face pinched with barely suppressed annoyance. “What do I have to say to you -- all of you – to convince you that Gunther, being a god, is inherently dangerous? Do you have any idea how much power it takes to break through to an alternate time stream? Or what that could do to the very fabric of reality?”

“Okay, Bobby, we get it,” Benji said placating. “This is bad. But what are we supposed to do about it? You said that he’s already gone.”

“We follow him,” Bobby said bluntly, “and we drag him back here, then we seal the rift.”

“Can we do that?” Wally asked. “Didn’t you just say how hard it is to get from one reality to another?”

“We’ll be following the path Gunther already tore open,” Bobby explained. “That’s going to be the easy part, you see. Catching him, bringing him back... If he can take control of people, the right people... We’re fucked.”

“Okay, so we go now before he gets the chance,” Ray-Ray pointed out. “Lets go save reality.”

****

Gunther took a deep breath, the coughed explosively. The air here smelled odd, tasted odd, but it was free air, air in a world where he had the chance for real power, and nobody could stop him.

For the last two and a half days I've been unable to access this site. Every other site worked just fine but all I got was an error message when I tried to get to Livejournal. Naturally this led to much panicking on my part and desperate attempts to fix the problem (my computer has been virus scanned, malware scanned and defragged all in the last few hours) and I've finally been allowed back, with no explanation why it was inaccesable or why I can access it all.

Anyway, I've been having fun with the Marvel and DC kink memes, though few of my prompts have been answered. Also I've got some new fic on the way, it's being editted when i have time and the drive to do so. This includes the last couple parts of my crossover with the That Damned MPreg universe and a new iceman/Northstar roleplay I finished recently.

I just rememebred something from my cgildhood. In sixth grade we were given writting assignments, I don't remember the parameters but we were given a lot of freedom in our choice of topic (might have just been a 'write so many pages' type thing). You know what I wrote? Fanfiction. I write an episode of Beast Wars, I was a huge fan of the show, a full blown episode complete with all the characters, fight scenes, banter and even a new character. The plot revolved around a new stasis pod crash landing and the sides fighting over it. The Predacons won and gained a new guy, Spidek. I think he ended up getting his personality wiped or captured or something. I remember hating the ending upon writting the final draft and changing it.

Fic: Bad Idea

Title: Bad Idea
Author: Timemonkey
Fandom: Marvel
Rating: PG
Warnings: Nothing really
Disclaimer: Lots of Ocs
Author’s Notes: A future fic involving a bunch of original characters from my ongoing Marvel fics involving Iceman/Northstar and their son.
-when the girls say 'Dad' they're reffering to Hulkling and 'Daddy' is Wiccan.
Summery: The night did not turn out how Laura had expected it to.
Accidentsverse archive is here: http://timemonkey.livejournal.com/12522.html#cutid1

"Well, that sucked about as much is super humanly possible," Laura Altman-Kaplan said as she sank down onto her bed and sulked.

"Could have been worse, at least there wasn't a fight," Wanda pointed out as she sat down beside her sister and wrapped a comforting arm around her.

"Yeah," Laura admitted, her disappointed tone not changing as she added, "but if Ray hadn't run away there probably would have been. Ray'll probably never want to talk to me again after what I put him through tonight."

Wanda let out a sigh and said, "I did tell you it was a stupid idea. Daddy really does not like Ray. You're lucky he didn't zap him."

Laura groaned and fell backwards, pulling from her sister's embrace and sprawling over her bed. "And that's all my fault for when I told them about you two. Now it's come around to bite me in the ass! How was I supposed to know I'd end up dating him!?"

"Karma can be a real bitch like that sometimes," Wanda said with the faintest hint of a smile on her lips. Her romantic interest in Ray was long gone but the small, petty side of her got a small touch of satisfaction at karma catching up to Laura, but such enjoyment passed quickly. Naturally she was going to do everything she could to help fix the problem, which was going to be tricky. "About Ray, you don't have to worry about him leaving you over this. It takes a lot more than one bad night to drive that boy away. He put up with worse than dinner with the Dads when we were together," Wanda said with a genuinely warm smile. "At least this time it wasn't both of them hating him. Dad seems willing to give Ray a chance."

"Yeah, that's right!" Laura said, sitting up. "If we can keep Daddy from zapping him long enough they might be able to bond!"

"I'd suggest maybe getting only Ray and Dad together next time you try this, Ray'll have a better chance for surviving," Wanda said with a grin. "And I bet Ray and Uncle Tommy will get along, they've got so much in common."

Laura snorted and said, "Yeah, they're both vain, arrogant, pains in Daddy's ass."

"That's the spirit!" Wanda congratulated giving her twin a hug, which Laura returned, even the shape shifter's hair wrapping around her. After a few moments Wanda pulled away, stood up, and turned to leave, "Now, if you'll excuse me I've got to go track down your boyfriend and whip him back into shape. Can't have someone on my team wetting his pants and running in terror every time we mention our parents." Wanda turned back and gave her twin a mischievous wink and added, "Of course I might make him do it a few times just for laughs."

Laura laughed as her sister left and then watched Wanda's car drive away through the window a couple minutes later. She really did feel bad about what she'd put Raymonde through that night. She really hadn't expected her father to act so openly hostile towards him. She knew should should have though, Wiccan had always been fiercely protective of his family and she really had painted Raymonde as a total jerk in the past.

She briefly considered perhaps getting someone to send her back in time so she could undo her younger self's actions but quickly dismissed the idea. That would only created an alternate universe where things went differently, not change her reality. Plus time travel really just complicates things, all anyone had to do figure that out was look at Cyclops and his family.

Besides, if she didn't ruin things for Ray and Wanda they might have ended up staying together and that wasn't a risk she was willing to take. Not because she wanted Raymonde for herself, but, while she loved Ray and Wanda individually, together they'd pretty much become a swirling vortex of pure intolerable evil. They just encouraged each other to greater mischief and pranks until they were just absolutely unbearable.

Laura would definitely plan her next attempt to integrate Raymonde into her family much more carefully. Wanda was probably right, getting Ray to bond with Teddy first would help make the group gatherings easier. Introducing Ray to Tommy would be risky, the two men would either love each other or hate each other with no way to predict which it would be. Laura hoped they'd get along, after all, Tommy wasn't like Quicksilver, who pretty much hated everyone until he decided otherwise. The real problem would be getting Billy to accept Ray, there would only be so long Raymonde would tolerate her father's behavior before he started getting pissed off and returned the spell caster's hostility. Once that fear was gone things would definitely get ugly very quickly.

Laura picked up the phone and dialed her boyfriend's number. After ringing for a minute the answering machine kicked in and Laura said, "Hi Ray, it's me. I'm so sorry about tonight I really thought things would go better. Call me soon, love you. Bye."

Confident that Raymonde would reply once Wanda was finished talking to him, he always returned her calls. She would start working through their problems in the morning but for now she was going to bed.
