So, you might be asking why my posts for the last two months have been nonexistent. Long story short, I haven't have access to my home computer (alas, no laptop) and I've been on another computer which can't handle my graphics program. And so, no graphics. But I am here and haven't fallen off of the face of the earth, andd I'm no longer sick so yay. Unfortunately, I'm not sure when I'll be able to go back to my house where my comp is, so I'll just have to make due without a graphics program. Thank goodness I at least have internet, and I might be posting some old stuff in the meantime if I get the time to keep you guys from running after me with pitchforks and all. ;P So, that's the news and I'll post if there's an update. For now, just look for musing posts and perhaps some old work.

Long time no post?

Alas, you've probably seen nothing here for the past month except for some dusty old icons and a lack of new creations. The cause? Well, I'd say school for the most part and a lack of graphics muse for the other. My requests are closed so hopefully I'll be having more time to make a batch of icons for ye. Hopefully I can get in a lot more than I've been posting to make it up to you all. Just letting you all know that I didn't drop off of the face of the earth. ;)

Yay! I just got my computer back. They had to completely wipe the hard drive clean, so I'll have to redownload everything from my resources page, but after that, I should be good on the whole icon-making. All of my stuff got deleted because I was too stupid to backup my files before I got the virus, but not to worry. It's nothing that can't be replaced. xD Thank goodness for photobucket. *rejoices the new clean computer*

Computer Viruses Suck

Yes, my computer is all infected now, thanks to Frostwire. >.>; It's a long story but basically I've had to fight with my computer this entire week and I managed to back up my icons and textures on a flash drive. There's something weird infecting my font files and gimp isn't loading because of that, which really really really sucks. x.x; I hate computer viruses. For now, my computer can do basic stuffs because of the virus protection stuffs I have on it, but apparently it's skipping over something. Soooo either my compuiter is going off Tuesday to be fixed or I'm going to try to kill this with KasperSky. Whichever comes first. x.x; This sucks.

Beauxbatons Transcripts

So I brought it up in another post of mine that I was working on some visual representation of my HP Beauxbatons transcripts for my roleplay character on MNI, because I'm obsessed. <.<; So, I started out with good ol'GIMP and came up a pretty nice template to work off of. I ended up getting the parchment from a stock photo site but I had to edit it a bit to get it turning out like I wanted it to. I posted the unfinished OWLs one ealier, and now I'm finished with all three. So if anyone would like to see the spiffy transcripts, please click the cut. They're a bit too big to post randomly here. ;p (about 500 in width and 700 pixels in height)

Here's to trying some new coloring techniques, inspired by a tutorial that I have yet to find and credit, but nonetheless here are ze icons. Basically I didn't go all out with these, but I ended up liking most. There's probably two or three, as there are with every batch that I dislike. ;P I would also like to remark that photobucket is evil and it froze my computer so I'm having to retype this all over again. So fooey. It's all those stupid new features I tell you.

Yes, I like to credit people for their icons, because I know what it takes to make them. I usually label the LJ username to icons I upload into my favorites album on Photobucket. Unfortunately though, I'm a 100% human and often times forget who made which icon. Others I'm not sure if its the username I saved in the file name. So, in order to use these on a forum (MNI) I would like to credit you all properly. I'm asking for your help. If you know of who made an icon I've posted here, or if you were the one who made it please say so I can credit the right people. Because, you know, credit is love.

There are a number of these because I'm terribly forgetful, and I would also like to point out that I have no idea if some of these even came from LJ or not. I just want to at least get some names for some of these at least. *dies*

Okay, so I’m totally community pimping here, but I think you guys should run on over and check out touchee. It’s an icon community that I’m part of that was started by the lovely kakjzaaliite. As another note I would like to say that I'm trying out a new template, but I'm not sure who it's by. If anyone has an idea I would love to credit them in the ye olde icon resource post. And speaking of icons, these were mainly wild experiments, as I tend to do, so enjoy the different techniques I tried. Upcoming projects and the like...yadayada.

Just because I like to keep everyone informed of what's going on around here...

Currently I have finished the Elizabeth Hurley batch, but the icon template I normally use is going all funny on me so I'm postponing them. Not to worry, I know it's just not me being a coding moron this time. Others have had the same problem. I did figure out that I could just take the code as I posted it before and probably post the links in there if it isn't fixed before too long. Why haven't I done that now? <.<; Well, because it's miles of html and that makes my head hurt. If worst comes to absolute worst I think I won't even do that and just take the godawful amount of time to post them here as individual images. (yes, I know. I just like the quick and easy way when it comes to icons) It's still up in the air. Just hope that this mysterious template problem goes away soon so I can post these for yins. And if it doesn't, just know that I'll be posting them anyway in some other form. For now, here's a tiny preview. (yes, that's my favorite one out of the batch)

Also, I edited out the funny yellow color in my other post that was blinding everyone. That time I was being a coding moron and had mistakenly set the color for the last paragraph for gold. >.>; Because I'm OCD like that and it bothered me, I had to edit. Now, seeing that I'm keeping you updated, here's a very vague list of what I'm working on. A 'to-do list', if you will.

First, I must finish typing up those journals still. I really haven't sat down and opened my actual journal to finish typing those out, but from what I remember I'm thinking it's going to be over 10 pages in MS word with the font size set to Verdana at 8pt. So, yes, sucks for me, but I'm going to type those up eventually. I have yet to add them to my CoS on MNI, which I really want to do.

Second, I am working on a graphic for a Beauxbatons transcript for my character. No, there's not any particular need for it, but it makes me happy to have a visual representation for things like this. And yes, I'm entirely obsessed with HP roleplay. I think it's a neat little project to do though, and so far I have half of the page done. Just click the cut to see that. Also, if anyone knows of a HP info base that has a good and accurate Beauxbatons section, let me know. I already have the Lexicon and HPwiki saved in my favs and those have helped tremendously. I doubt that there's more info than what I've found, but it never hurts to scavenger hunt. I wanted to check in all possible places before I went my own way with a bit of JK Rowling's world.

Third, I would like to mention that Warner Brothers has fallen entirely below my expectations by postponing the HP movie and that they are "derrty sons of beeeches" for doing that, as my brother would say. I see no other reasoning behind it besides the money and it irritates me to no end that they could do that to us devote fans. But, of course, that really isn't so much as something I'm working on rather than just my personal opinion.

Fourth, I am planning to make another batch of light textures soon. I was wondering if anyone else was having difficulty downloading them so I can make different arrangements for when I post the next batch. Also, I think that I'm going to keep the batch to just 30 this time. Not that I regret the 100 pack, seeing that it was a good way to kick off my texture posts in this journal, but I think I can get them to you quicker in smaller bunches.

So that is the future so far for this journal. Random comments are appreciated. :B

And, as I said, this is what I have so far for the Beauxbatons transcript thing. I just wanted to have something that looked pretty neat as well as typing out the plain old text one in MS word. Any suggestions are appreciated as well, graphic or HP-related.

I'm really trying to be exact with how I think Beauxbatons would do things. I know they would take O.W.L.S after their sixth year instead their fifth, but I'm guessing that they would still have N.E.W.T.S in some form or another. For now I'm keeping it the same name with the O.W.L.S and such, since it's easier for RP purposes. I was also thinking on changing the classes around a bit. Like instead of charms, they might have Intro to Spellcasting and Advanced Spellcasting, and Care of Magical Creatures might just be called Magizoology. Just common differences that you might see between the schools, because I'm sure that it's not exactly the same classes. <.<;

Yes, I'm working really hard on this, and yes, it is just for fun. I guess I'm just overly thoughtful when it comes to these things. >.>

Yes, I deleted the ye olde request post. It wasn’t getting much use anyway and I have a whole lineup of icons batches I can finish, so I have that covered. Not to mention that it lets the more important stuff be closer to the top. (past the monsterously huge banner, I know. <.<; I love my banners) But if you would like to make a request feel free to post it wherever and I shall find it. I’m always checking for new comments so it will be found, trust me.

Speaking of comments, all of yins are being exceptionally quiet. I think the most feedback I got was from that cookie monster icon I posted that everyone grabbed. xD I thought that was kind of funny. I am getting friended by a lot of yins though, so here’s a well-deserved cybermuffin for you. *hands muffin*

Just remember that you can comment. I won’t bite your head off of anything, you silly people. ;P

As promised, here are my journals from my travels abroad. On the trip I carried three journals. One was an official one that had to be read by an advisor, the other was for my personal thoughts, and the third was one I used to take short notes to think about later. For each day I’ve combined what I wrote in all three so you can have the best overview of the time. Some are sappy, some are artistic, and others are just plain weird. I’ll let you decide for yourself. So here’s to PTP Europe Trip 2008. All behind the cut.

But first! The journals are very extensive, as you probably understand. Hence, I will be editing them into this post in groups. Hence, it’s only partial to the days that I have posted so far until my fingers stop hurting from typing. When this little message goes away (as in, I erase it) all journals have been posted.

What does it mean to be an American?

An American is someone more than a person who resides in the United States. An American is someone who remembers the principles that this country was founded on. Freedom, for one, came as a great price. Yet, without freedom, where would we be? What principles would we have founded such a nation upon?

To have freedom is to have the liberty to live as you want to live without the government controlling everything that you do. An American is free to have the type of lifestyle and be the type of person that he or she would like to be.

As Americans, we are not simply bound one social class throughout our lives. We have choices. Not all goals, of course, may be attainable, but who is there to say that we cannot try anyway? We can have dreams to follow and dreams to fulfill. The freedom to follow these dreams is what truly makes America a democracy.

What are your goals for being a student ambassador?

My main goal is not just to travel to these countries, but to understand the culture around us as we are there. The opportunity doesn’t come often to visit a new culture so different from our own, so it’s best to embrace it fully while there and learn what our destinations have to offer. New countries mean new things and I’m up for trying every new thing made possible (except the slightly illegal offerings, of course ;) ) while traveling abroad.

To be a student ambassador is to be more than a visitor. We are advocates for others to learn about our culture as well, and I hope to leave a lasting positive impression for my country.

Where is your favorite place to be?

Currently, I would say that Isle of Palms has to be my favorite place to visit. While still in the same state of South Carolina I feel as if the place- the actual beach in particular- is in another state of its own; another country even.

To me it’s a different place entirely, where the locals stride along the sidewalk in flip-flops and call it ‘evening wear’ while tourists, clad in oversized sunglasses, come from all over the globe just to sit in the sand. The restaurants, as diverse as the people there, offer a variety of exotic-yet-local cuisine and the waiter always seems to have met my dad on some previous occasion, referring to him simply as “Coach”.

I take risks when ordering at these places, always trying something seemingly strange on the menu. Not to mention that we always tend to get seats with a splendid view of the ocean, where my dad points out to the sea and gestures to some minuscule ship that I hadn’t noticed before. After dinner it’s become a tradition to walk on the beach back to my dad’s place, paying no mind to the unbeach-like clothes (random t-shirts and khakis) that we might be dressed in at the time.

In the winter (my favorite time on the island) there are no crowds and on slightly rainy days there isn’t a soul on the beach as far as the eye can see. Then we walk without glancing at any nonexistent beachgoers and it’s just our own personal stretch of island, reserved for the day only for us. Not only beautiful, but it’s an escape, where nothing else matters. Here, just go outside for your vacation.

Travel Journal Day 1 – Rome

Today was quite eventual, to say in the least. We ended up missing our first flight to Rome, and we nearly missed our second is we hadn’t frantically tore through the airport, suitcases and carry-ons bouncing along in our arms as we ran from our first airport to the other named Air France. (Even though we were flying from Munich to Italy. Go figure.)

On the plane I sat next to a French-sounding couple, but I’m still not quite sure if they really were French. I just know that Europe has entirely different expectations when it comes to PDA because they certainly didn’t mind displaying it. Luckily I basically passed out on the plane due to sheer tiredness and jet-lag so the experience was short-lived. As we were getting off however, I helped the couple with their baggage and found that they spoke some English, but very little.

After we landed we waited for our luggage to finally appear and almost everyone picked out a fine patch of cold-tile floor and promptly went to sleep, sprawled out as we saw fit. To witness this there was a nun who stayed for a while at the monotonous baggage claim, waiting on a suitcase that never seemed to come until an half an hour later. (The woman had god-like patience, pun intended.)

Eventually our luggage came too on the monotonous belt loop (all 40 suitcases) and we were able to escape the airport without delay. Outside we met our delegation leader (who we took to calling Kat.) and toted our luggage down the street for a while until we came to a bus, which had been waiting for us all along. We met our ever-famous driver, Wolfgang and then collapsed into our seats, ready to go to sleep.

Not Kat. Our ever-bubbly tour guide, immune to the effects of all jet lag in general, spoke to us about where we would we going (using the loudspeaker) and told us that both she and Wolfgang were from Austria. Many of our delegation members just wanted to kill them right then, only to find out after the jet-lag wore off that we had the coolest bus driver and tour guide combo that anyone could give us.

We then took the bus to the Coliseum, but not before abruptly being introduced to what they call ‘Italian traffic’. I hardly figure that it can be called traffic. Rather, I would think of it as a random collaboration of vehicles all driving in the same direction on the same road. Other than that, there were no rules. Lanes were not to be used and motorcycles (along with anything small enough to squeeze between the other vehicles) had the exclusive right to go whenever, and wherever they thought like driving, including the emergency lane. Speed limits were a matter of how fast you could swerve your vehicle between the other vehicles and if you failed at that, then you were just out of luck.

Once we had parked the bus we walked, walked, and walked some more. I really enjoyed the on-foot part because it was like one giant hike through the city, but there were complainers who deserved an abrupt slap to the head. All in all, the journey to the places we were going to see was just about as much fun as the tour sites themselves. (We would also be following this way or touring for the rest of the trip. Yes. Lots of walking. :B I love walking)

We were given a tour of the Coliseum and the Roman Forum by a tiny Italian lady whose name I do not remember. She seemed to have some trouble with English, but I was able to understand her well-enough. You just had to listen closely to her in person and not by those little radios that she gave us to wear. She noted that the Coliseum was not just used for gladiator fights, but for public ceremonies and carnivals too. Think of it as a public square with seats.

The Coliseum did look smaller in real life and there weren’t any cars driving around it. Instead around it was just a circular street (like a traffic circle) with all sorts of marketers and even ‘gladiators’ (people dressed up in red and gold gladiator outfits) who raised their wooden swords and tried their best to look intimidating. I think they were really trying to get into character, and they did a pretty good job with it.

Speaking of street performers (there were a lot in Europe) we saw a ‘human statue’. Basically it’s this person who paints themselves either silver or gold and goes on a street corner and stands really still, but when you stop and look at them they wink at you. This man was good at what he did. At first I really did think that he was a statue, but it turns out he was just a complete master at staying still. It was really amazing, and much harder than it looks.

Before we got to the Roman Forum we stopped to get water from a fountain and, much to my surprise, we discovered that the water tasted much much different from American water, but in a good way. It was clean, but it didn’t have that overly purified taste to it. Kind of like…mountain water, I suppose. Anyway, it was a nice change

At the Roman Forum we walked to a few sections and our tour guide (the same one from the Coliseum) explained a few more things but it was hard to hear her so I only caught a bit. Apparently the Roman government previously conducted its services there. The Roman Forum was also home to the emperor, who lived in a ‘palace’ which consisted of many servants and staff. Also, emperors were often regarded as gods after they died, so the forum was filled with temples created in their honor.

On the way back we walked through a park, earning that ever-famous Italian wink and smile as we greeted them. We also ran into a soccer game right off to the side of the street and found that the sidewalks were crowded with people watching, all with intent poker faces on. People were cooking out on the sidewalk as the game went on, and it seemed like a really festive atmosphere. Yet they were quite intense about their game and everyone practically flocked to it. They seem to love soccer more than I thought..

For dinner we ate at this nice pizzeria which was tucked off in a corner, as many shops and restaurants were. The food was great and was always served in courses no matter what the time of day. We had bread first, then salad, and then, oddly enough, chicken and fries (covered in this oil. You were supposed to dip the fires in it.), and a brownie for desert. Italians know how to cook, most definitely.

Day 2 – Roman Catacombs

Italians are perhaps the most beautiful people I have ever seen. Most, but certainly not all, have chestnut brown hair and chocolate-colored eyes. They dress to compliment themselves and it seems to be a trend to wear a dress shirt with the top half of the buttons unbuttoned (the women did this too, but of course, it was only one or two buttons than non, like most of guys). That was a bit strange since we certainly don’t walk around in America unbuttoned in such a manner. Yet, it seemed so natural to them that nobody even gave a second thought.

Another strange trend was the business-suited motorcyclists. Imagine some Italian man dressed in an Armani suit and silk tie randomly riding a moped down the street. It was pretty funny to seen that, but really cool. They wear formal clothes everywhere, and it never fails to impress me.

Speaking of motorcycles though…Traffic is insane here. Motorcycles were weaving in-between cars and crowds, and even though there are lanes, the white lines seem to be nothing more than figures painted on the road. Lanes! Ha! There are no lanes. There’s no order. It’s just a matter of how small your vehicle is and how many people you can get to move out of your way. Quite a dangerous way of driving…

Motorcycles and mopeds seem to be the easiest way around, given their size. They create roads out of narrow alleys and any space in-between, even going as far as to driving down the emergency lane past traffic. Funnily enough, the police don’t even care. They just do the same exact thing.

Moving on the educational portion and getting past my surprise at the insanity of traffic, we visited the Catacombs today. The feeling that the place was sacred just hit you right in the face as you ventured down underground, where half a million tombs reside in the stone walls. The walls, having been made for this burial purpose, were made out of soft volcanic rock and had niches carved out of them for the tombs. The sizes of most of these were actually smaller, because most of the tombs belonged to children.

At first we didn’t realize how many children were buried there, but as we looked for the smaller niches, it was impossible to count them all. They were simply everywhere, especially with disease being such a horrid murderer back then. It was a little depressing once we started seeing for ourselves how many had died, but it was, oddly enough, a comforting place to be in. I know that sounds rather weird, especially when half of the delegation wanted to leave as soon as possible, but it was peaceful. Maybe it’s this thing of coming to terms with death, because it didn’t seem frightening at all to me.

Popes were also buried in the catacombs. Even though most of the actual bodies have been removed I was under the impression that a few still resided there. We also were able to view the place where St. Cecilia was buried, but her actual remains have been moved to the Vatican. It really was amazing to see her tomb though, especially since she’s the patron saint of music and also the patron saint of my best friend. She’s often referenced in the Masses there, so I thought that was pretty neat.

Going back to the reasoning behind the tombs, it was quite interesting to find out that the early Christians buried everyone together because of their belief that everyone had an equal opportunity for Resurrection.

There was quite a bit of artwork in the Catacombs, all depicting religious scenes, of course. One of the paintings that made me stop and look was one of the ones by St. Cecelia’s tomb. It depicts her holding out her hands from her sides, palms up and opened in a graceful gesture. Out tour guide stated that this was the pose of prayer that Christians used back then, rather than placing their hands together as they do now.

Overall, it was amazing to witness such history and the Catacombs really took my breath away.

Still cleaning out the photobucket and I figured that I might as well put something out there while you all are waiting on the Europe Trip Adventures. Also I’m putting together a light texture set for yins, which is at 30 textures now. (I plan to have 100 to zip it all up and make it downloadable) so expect to see those in the near future.

As for these icons, some are old and some are new. (you can tell the old ones by the blindingly red light textures. ;P) But all are up for grabs soooo take ‘em. Just, you know, credit, comment, and love. All that jazz.

Back!

(With a new sexy header too, even though it looks a little funky with the current layout. ;p Meh. I like it.)

Even though I had totally forgotten to post that I was leaving in the first place, I have returned to the world of internet in general after spending 20 days in Europe. (Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and France)

Let me tell you. I had a time. O.O; It was wonderful, even though near the end our tour group wanted to somewhat kill each other. I saw so many amazing works of art and I truly feel lucky for being able to go in the first place. Ah-maz-ing.

Plus, I have journals that I kept throughout the whole time and pictures. Lots of 'em. >.>; (over 1000) Luckily I have narrowed that down to 492 and I shall be posting them and the journal entires in one huge collaboration by the end of the week. Do look forward to reading those. ;) They're hilarious.

Another text icon post!

After a quite eventful trip at FBLA Nationals, it feels great to be home.

For seven days it felt like a month, but it was a lot of fun. I even have pictures! (those will be behind the cut, of course ;B)

There was some bad mixed in with the good, but overall I think it was a really neat trip. We ended up going to Six Flags, an Atlanta Braves game, the aquarium, the World of Coke, and this really neat seafood bistro place. And for my B-day we went to this really nice restaurant called Wisteria where they had things Kobe beef, stingray, and calamari on the menu. I had the last two and it was really good. I've had calamari before with my Aunt, but I haven't tried stingray. I kinda wish I had ordered some more just for the sake of taking home (yes, I am a seafood lover)

As for Six Flags…Whoa, it was ah-maz-ing. When I was little I used to be terrified of roller coasters and I’m still a little apprehensive about going on them, but I got dared into it and rode every single one in the park. I have to say that the Superman was my favorite. When you get it you get tilted back so you can only see ahead and once the ride starts it’s like you’re flying. <.<; I couldn’t even see the rails or anything. It was like we were been thrown over the amusement park at breakneck speed. And the other rides…I think I ended up loving everyone I went on.

The batman roller coaster was really neat, but it was kinda creepy when we came back because apparently it’s closed down now because someone died on it. (Who happened to be from the same state as me. O.O) It’s really frightening hearing that after riding it three times in a row a few days before that happened. I really feel bad for the kid’s parents…

One of the non-roller coaster rides was this water ride where everyone got in this big circular boat thing and went down a river course. I must’ve ridden that four times. O.O; My whole FBLA chapter got soaked! But it was really hot outside so that worked out well.

Oh! And, going back to roller coasters…Goliath…Goodness. It was the tallest one in the southeast and it went like 80mph. Man…I want to go back on that one again. The first part is just going up forever and a day but when you go down it feels like miles of just falling. >.>; Crazyinsane.

So that was the amazingness that was Six Flags. I think that was my favorite part of the trip. As for the World of Coke… That wasn’t very fun, besides trying the different kinds of soda from around the world. ( The ones from France tasted great!) Most of it was just walking through and reading the stuff on the walls, and I didn’t happen to find much of it interesting even though I usually love museums and stuff. O.o; It just felt like an endless LSD Coke video thing, especially the entrance clips we sat through. It had all of these weird things living in a coke machine…It was really strange…

The aquarium was neato. I loved walking around and looking at the fish. There were a lot of people blocking the little signs where you read what the fish are, so I didn’t get to look at much of the facts, but seeing the different types of marine life was great. They had everything there, from beluga whales to sea otters and catfish. Even though the glass was probably a gazillion inches thick it felt like you were almost touching the animals. Speaking of touching the animals, they had a fish petting zoo! I actually petted a shrimp! That was probably the strangest thing I’ve ever touched. There were stingrays there (ew. Slimy.), sharks, and I think I petted a horseshoe crab (or something that looked like it, at least). It was a wonderful experience, even though I think those stingrays were really tired of being petted. >.>;

The Braves game had to be my second favorite thing. I love baseball and to finally see it in person…It felt so cool to be in this crowd of thousands of people, all cheering our heads off and acting all crazy. It was so exciting, especially at the end when the Braves were coming close to getting a tie with the other team. People were jumping around and baseballs kept flying into the seats. Very action packed. And the Indian cheer thing everyone was doing was so much fun. We all felt a little crazy, but nobody really cared. ;P

As for FBLA Nationals itself…There were over 7,000 people there. It was so cool meeting all of these people and collecting the pins from different states. Even the FBLA chapter from Puerto Rico was there. Every time they went up, I remember them holding a flag and waving it around. The two sessions (general to start and the awards at the end) were really exciting. There was even a motivational speaker there and she had us all jumping from our seats and laughing.

The hotel we stayed at was really nice. It had 47 floors and we took the elevator to the top just to look down. (People kept throwing paper airplanes down from there into the lobby.) We were on the 15^th floor, and I kinda wished we were higher, but then again everyone’s ears kept popping when we went up to floors over 20.

And yes, they had a pool. It didn’t go very deep, but I’m short so at the 5’ section I was in over my head. <.<; At night everyone went down there and we had this MASSIVE game of volleyball. I got up on Matt’s shoulders and started spiking the ball to the other side. That was so cool. xD And the hot tub was really nice. We just sat in there for a long time and met all sorts of people. I think the first people we saw were from the capital. I thought they would have more of an accent, because I could have sworn they were from SC. There were these guys from Illinois that stayed in there for a while, and this one girl from Nebraska. There were a lot of people from California there too.

As for our event, we didn’t get to compete! Longgggg story, but it sucked majorly. But it didn’t suck as bad since there were open events that anyone could compete in, so I decided to do Sports Management. I didn’t get the 1^st place spot (which is the only one awarded in those events), but I was glad I got to compete in something. We went to the workshops and campaign booths too, so it wasn’t a loss at all. I think we ended up replacing the disappointment with busying ourselves with other things.

And we encountered the motivational speaker again. She wasn’t as great as the first time around, but the activities we did were pretty fun in there. She had us do the human knot and this other game where we have to fall backwards into the arms of these people we just met. I think the people who caught me were from Ohio. >.>; *doesn’t remember*

Overall, wonderful wonderful trip. I could go on forever about how much fun it was, but I’ll spare everyone. xD So…how about some pictures? (just ignore any bad quality. I took most of these on the run xD)

going to be MIA for a while

I just finished packing for FBLA nationals in Atlanta and I have to say I'm really excited. And kind of nervous too...Basically FBLA stands for Future Business Leaders of America and it's a student organization where we all compete in events that have to do with business. My event is a partner event, Management Decision Making, where we have to inform a company of the best options for the future. At state we won first place against two other teams, but at nationals...Well, if there is one team from each state as a bare minimum....Well, let's just say we're up against 50 different teams. Kinda nerve-racking huh?

So that's where I'll be from the 24th to the 30th and I hope everyone wishes me luck. ;) I'm hoping for the best, but even if we're not the first place winners again, it's still going to be a wonderful experience. Plus, my B-day is on the 28th so I'll get to celebrate it with my entire FBLA chapter in Atlanta, Georgia. Whoot! Plus, we're staying at this kick-a hotel that's supposed to be really nice.

And I'm really looking forward to meeting new people....at the POOL. Okay, not just there, but you know what I mean. ;P And I am all good and ready. I even already got the tan. So if you can imagine a semi-dark Portuguese chick running around in a pink bikini...

I'm really excited for this. ^.^ So excited, in fact, that I can't sleep. >.>; I'll probably hit the sack writing some random story as I always do.
