Notes: For the fanmix slam. So I’ve never made a fanmix before but I really wanted to participate in the fanmix slam (but I made some art work to go along with it and accidently called it a “slam mix”…oops) so I decided to give it a shot, plus this was a nice way for me to ~~procrastinate from my big biology project~~ show my Jeff/Annie love through music. So when I think of the episode “Asian Population Studies” my mind immediately goes to the “either you want me or you don’t” bathroom scene, so a lot of the songs have to do with that scene.

01. Fell in Love Without You (acoustic) – Motion City Soundtrack
Annie’s POV

Last night I fell in love without you

Explanation: Annie has fallen for Rich. She was tired of waiting for Jeff to figure what he wants.

Annie’s POV

Explanation: Annie has just given Jeff her “Either you want me or you don’t, what’s it gunna be?” ultimatum. She’s thinking about their relationship and she’s decided that she’s tired of his ‘loves me-loves me not’ games and wants a straight answer from him as to what she means to him, cause she’s decided that she can’t continue on with their undefined relationship.

Annie’s POV

Explanation: While waiting for Jeff to give her an answer to her ultimatum Annie thinks about their relationship and can’t help but hope that instead of ignoring his feelings and their connection like he always does, Jeff will finally recognize it and say he wants her.

Jeff’s POV

Explanation: When Jeff gives Annie an answer to her ultimatum he is just trying to be realistic, knowing that the chances that they would ever have a real relationship are slim, and that the chances that they would work out and that he wouldn’t hurt her are bad. But it pains Jeff to say this (cause he likes her when he knows shouldn’t), so he finds a way to work his way around giving her that explanation (a.k.a. a straight answer).

Jeff’s POV

Explanation: Jeff knows that one of the reasons that him and Annie can’t be together is because he is bad for her. She is wonderful, and he isn’t a good enough person for her. Jeff knows this, but isn’t strong enough to say it out loud. By giving her his “Relationships are complicated”/not straight answer he is avoiding saying this reason. But then Jeff runs to Rich so he can help make him stronger in the hopes that one day he’ll be able to tell Annie in a straight forward way that he is bad for her.

Explanation: Jeff regrets not telling Annie how he really feels about her and thinks about their conversation in the men’s bathroom; thinking about both what really happened between them and about all the things he wished he had done instead.

Explanation: Annie’s thoughts on how great Rich is and how she really likes him, but he still doesn’t compare to how she feels for Jeff.

General POV

Explanation: Rich really is Mr. Perfect (or ‘Dr. Do-Know-Wrong’ as Jeff would say), but no matter how great he is, he can’t fill that special place in Annie’s heart which is reserved for Jeff.
