How to make this icon

Open your base image. 01

Go to image >> adjustments >> hue/saturation
Lower the saturation till it is almost all grey. (The actual amount will vary depending on the start image you are using.)

Open this texture >> Set it to Soft light >> %100

Open this texture and set it to Multiply >> %63

Go to Layer >> layer mask >> reveal all
Erase the area of the pattern covering the face.

Open this texture >> set it to multiply >> %100

Go to Layer >> New adjustment layer >> Selective colour
Set Black to:-
Cyan -30
Magenta +10
Yellow +12
Black 0

Open this texture by innocent_lexys >> Set it to soft light >> %100

Go to layer >> new fill layer >> solid colour >> #041645 >> Set to difference >> %39

Go to Layer >> layer mask >> reveal all
Erase the area of the pattern covering the face.

Open this texture >> Go to Layer >> layer mask >> reveal all
Erase most of the texture using a soft tip round brush set to opacity %30
(see layer list at bottom page)

Open new layer >> set to screen >> Select round soft tip brush >> size 54 >> opacity %30
Use the red to highlight the middle of the icon

(Move he texture around on the icon till it looks right)
