She inspired me to update this thing, which I SHOULD be doing.

So, I started school on Wednesday. It's going pretty well, I'd say, but this year feels realllyyy different to me. I've been getting into deep bouts of depression lately, for lots of reasons. Weird, because my cousin tried to commit suicide about a month ago. It's so scary to think about, but also...reassuring? When I'm having a "bad day"?
Does anyone else ever feel this way?

Project Runway is my obsession right now. I love Michael. He is the BEST.

I took a bubble bath last night, and I decided I needed some good romance songs. L.O.V.E., The Way You Look Tonight, Mona Lisa, and That's Amore are all owned by me now. I also took the liberty of downloading some classic *NSYNC songs. It was all about the classics today.

Obviously, I'm still sick. I'm sick so often, what's up with my immune system? It's not supposed to be so weak! Anyhow, it's completely ruining my social life. I'm not allowed out of the house - for everyone else's good. I'd infect my friends.

So, for now, it's Food Network and Game Shows. I've become very good at $100,000 Pyramid. Pathetic.

Ashley Love

Step One:

Begin with a picture (I chose Ashley Olsen) and resize it down to 100x100 pixels. This layer is now your base layer.

Step Two:

Duplicate your base layer and set the Blend Mode on Screen at 50% Opacity.

Step Three:

Duplicate your base layer again and drag it to the top. Set the Blend Mode on Soft Light at 50% Opacity.

Step Four:

Create a New Layer and fill it with #06065B. Set the Blend Mode to Exclusion at 50% Opacity.

Step Five:

Create a New Layer and fill it with #E3C5CD. Set the Blend Mode to Color Burn at 80% Opacity.

Step Six:

Flatten your image so far. This is your new base layer.

Step Seven:

Sharpen your image once.

Step Eight:

Select Auto Contrast (Image..Adjustments..Auto Contrast).

Step Nine:

Select Auto Color (Image..Adjustments..Auto Color).

Step Ten:

Select Auto Levels (Image..Adjustments..Auto Levels).

Step Eleven:

Create a New Layer and fill it with #B8A781. Set the Blend Mode on Multiply at 30% Opacity.

Step Twelve:

Create a New Layer and fill it with #456A98. Set the Blend Mode on Screen at 30% Opacity.

Step Thirteen:

Create a New Layer and fill it with #A3E2A3. Set the Blend Mode on Color Burn at 20% Opacity.

Step Fourteen:

Duplicate your base layer and drag it to the top. Set the Blend Mode on Screen at 40% Opacity.

Step Fifteen:

Now here's the cool part. It's optional, of course. Use the Polygon Lasso Tool to select a part of the icon you want defined - for me, it was her eye. Copy it, and paste it as a new layer at the top.

Step Sixteen:

Sharpen this layer. Set the Blend Mode on Normal at 80% Opacity. Blur any white spots with the Blur Tool.

Step Seventeen:

Flatten your icon.

Step Eighteen:

Select Brightness/Contrast and set the Contrast at +15 (Image..Adjustments..Brightness/Contrast).

I've been sick for the past two days because of food poisoning mixed with migraines. It's been unhappy, really. I've been on the computer or watching television the whole time, but still. Boooring. I hate missing school - is that weird?

It's been reality TV show after reality TV show - Flavor of Love, Real World, etc. etc. Quiiite a lot, if you ask me.

SO PSYCHED FOR PROJECT RUNWAY. Santino needs to gooo. I don't like his designs OR his attitude. End of story.

Off to get some ginger snaps. Will blog later, maybe. I've been making a lot of icons, so maybe I'll post one? Here's a sample:

ICON TUTORIAL NO.1

New York, New York!

1.0 Find a picture and resize it down to 100x100. This will become your base.	2.0 If needed, flip your image (Edit..Transform..Flip Horizontal).
3.0 Now, duplicate your base and set the Blend Mode to Screen at 100% Opacity.	4.0 Duplicate your base again and set the Blend Mode to Soft Light at 100% Opacity.
5.0 Create a new layer and fill it with #0E0172. Set the Blend Mode to Screen at 80% Opacity.	6.0 Create a new layer and fill it with #D5CAAE. Set the Blend Mode to Multiply at 80% Opacity.
7.0 Create a new layer and fill it with #FFCCFF. Set the Blend Mode to Screen at 30% Opacity.	8.0 Create a new layer and fill it with #820505. Set the Blend Mode to Color Burn at 10% Opacity.
9.0 Duplicate your base again and drag it to the top. Set the Blend Mode to Soft Light at 60% Opacity.	10.0 Sharpen the current layer. I did only twice, but many choose to do three or four times for maximum effect.
11.0 Now, add white text. I used Carnivalee Freakshow(14pt, Normal Blend, 86% Opacity) for the large letters, and Arial(3pt, Normal Blend, 100% Opacity) for the small letters.	12.0 Be sure to double check that your font setting is on Sharp as opposed to None or Crisp. This will produce a better result in the end as the letters will be a little bit blurred.
13.0 Rasterize both text layers (Layer..Rasterize..Type). You only need to do this if text is covering your character.	14.0 If your text is covering the character, select the parts that are "on top" and delete them. It now appearts that the text is behind them.

Hello Dollies.

Ski trip was absolutely AMAZING. Unforgettable. Fantastic. Incredible.

Indescribable.

Let's just say I had fun.

But now I have a huge bruise from learning to snowboard and falling onto my board when getting off the lift. I really should've just stuck with the skis. At least on those I can do blacks and such.

It's so weird to be here, but my grandmother has been so open with me about the whole situation. I'm trying to enjoy the time as best I can.

my grandfather died about 10 minutes ago

we had a weird relationship. he was neurotic and crazy, but i loved him so much. we talked all the time. he built a house for me up in canada.

i miss him already.

he was such a powerful force, and i can't imagine him gone. but he is.

he was on life support in a comatose state as of this morning. but they took him off of it. we knew it would happen but not so fast.

when i first found out...i checked my email, ate a pretzel, got on IM. and then went into hysterics. i'm okay now but i really don't understand myself sometimes.

I feel terrible. I slept over at someone's house last night and we stayed up late watched FRIENDS, tame stuff. But I forgot to brush my teeth and now my mouth feels fuzzy and disgusting. I hate that. And my stomach feels weird and my head is pounding. Not good.

On a happier note, I finally saw American Wedding. It's a total dick flick but I enjoy those kinds of movies - EuroTrip, anyone?

Also nice - I figured out animated in ImageReady. It's not too hard once you get the hang of it. I Google-d tutorials and just combined a whole bunch of them in order to get a good idea of how to do it. The worst part, though, is that you HAVE to .gif it. HAVE to. There's no other way - and it sucks.
