Nigeria used to be Frontier, then FX issues made it difficult for investors to move money out of the country. So in 2023, Nigeria got moved to “unclassified”.

Translation: You could invest… but exiting was not straightforward. And investors don’t like locked doors.

Last year, Nigeria got kicked out of the Frontier Market club because foreign investors couldn’t take their money out.
