Gedanken zur Tageslosung für Donnerstag, den 09.04.2026

Losungswort

Pesangon, BPJS, THR, lembur, semuanya dihitung dari GAJI POKOK.

Lo kerja 5 tahun, di-PHK.
- Gaji pokok Rp 7 juta: pesangon + UPMK bisa Rp 50-70 juta.
- Gaji pokok Rp 3 juta dengan sisanya "tunjangan"? Anjlok ke Rp 25-35 juta.

Selisih puluhan juta.

Gak masuk hitungan THR.

Lo pikir THR lo Rp 7 juta, ternyata cuma Rp 3 juta. Akal2an perusahaan.

At 19 I had a psychotic break at UC Berkeley. Hardly slept for two weeks. Thought I was the messiah. Ended up in the psych ward.

4 hospitalizations. 5 meds. My psychiatrist told me I was treatment-resistant.

He was wrong. Here are the metabolic strategies that healed me. 🧵 Image
Strategy 1: Ketogenic / Carnivore diet

Your brain can become insulin resistant. When that happens, neurons can't fire properly, and you get psychiatric symptoms.

Ketones bypass the broken insulin pathway and fuel your neurons directly. The brain actually prefers them over glucose.

I went keto January 4th, 2021. My manic episodes stopped. Not reduced. Stopped. I've since switched to carnivore and feel even better.
Strategy 2: Sleep

Every night of sleep deprivation spikes cortisol. Cortisol raises blood glucose. Raised blood glucose accelerates insulin resistance.

So bad sleep directly worsens the metabolic problem driving your psychiatric symptoms. It's not a soft recommendation. It's biochemistry.

The manic season is spring because the days get longer and sleep gets disrupted. I've lived this. Sleep is medicine.

[1/5] Supremacists and bullies often speak the loudest.

But what if that noise is not strength - just a signal of insecurity?

Let’s take a closer look. 🧵

A thread worth your attention, because beneath the noise lie patterns that science has been quietly decoding.Image
[2/5]

A substantial body of social and behavioural science suggests that dominance-driven hostility frequently emerges from fragile self-concepts.

Individuals who feel uncertain about their own worth seek validation by elevating their in-group while demeaning others (suggest reading about Social Identity Theory (?)).

Similarly, the concept of "compensatory narcissism" describes how exaggerated displays of superiority can mask underlying vulnerability, self-doubt, or perceived inadequacy.

In this light, bullying is less about power and more about overcompensation.

[3/5]

This is why such behaviour often appears performative - even “cringe.”
It is not grounded confidence but a projection.

A defence mechanism attempting to conceal internal instability.

Empirical studies on aggression and prejudice consistently show links to threat perception, low self-esteem, and cognitive rigidity - not genuine strength (Ostrowsky, 2010).

Image

"Just a friendly reminder: There will be a Protestant Service (No Catholic Mass) for Good Friday today at the Pentagon Chapel,"

Your veins and arteries carry the same blood. Same LDL. Same ApoB. Same everything. Yet veins almost never get plaque. Arteries constantly do.

Maybe you've seen the recent discussions about this. It's an interesting question that provides clues in cardiovascular science, and could challenge how we think about LDL and ApoB. 🧵
If ApoB-containing lipoproteins were "sufficient" to cause the disease, we should see plaque everywhere.

But we don't.

We only see it in the high-pressure, high-turbulence environment of the arterial system.

The real "experiment" happens during bypass surgery (CABG).

When a surgeon takes a pristine vein and grafts it into the arterial circulation, something changes.

Subjected to arterial pressure, that vein suddenly becomes susceptible to atherosclerosis.
This demonstrates that mechanical factors, pressure and sheer stress, could be the primary triggers. High pressure leads to endothelial injury, which then initiates the atherosclerotic cascade.

The injury happens first; the "repair" (plaque) follows.

This leads us to a key question: Is ApoB actually sufficient for atherosclerosis, or is it merely a necessary participant that only becomes a problem once the "soil" (the endothelium) is damaged?

I just read the new Haaretz article about how Israeli planted pines are suddenly dying en masse and it is absolutely worth dissecting. Here are a summary & my observations as a Palestinian scholar who writes on green colonialism. 1/ Image
Israel boasts about having planted 250 million trees since its founding. 90% of those trees are not Indigenous. About 50% of the planted trees are "Aleppo pines" that originated in the south of Europe (mainly Spain) & North Africa. The article doesn't note they're invasive. 2/ Image
Israel planted monocultures of these pines over the ruins of Palestinian villages to hide their existence, prevent Palestinians from returning, assert claim over the land, & greenwash its state image. I describe this weaponization of tree planting as green colonialism. 3/

The replacement of humans has always been the goal. Now it’s actually starting to happen.

For years, insiders tried to warn us—engineers, whistleblowers, entire teams inside the biggest tech companies in the world. They saw where AI was heading… and what it was becoming.

They were ignored, dismissed, written off as overreacting.

@zeeemedia lays out a pattern that’s getting harder to ignore—where technology once sold as progress is now being used for surveillance, automated warfare, and the systematic replacement of human labor at scale.

And the most unsettling part?
This isn’t a glimpse of the future. It’s already happening.

Tonight is Part 2 of our Great Reset: Next Phase series—and what we’re about to show you makes one thing clear: this next phase isn’t coming, it’s already underway.

Before any major crisis, there are always voices trying to sound the alarm. They get dismissed, labeled as overreacting, written off as “panicans” or worse.

But this time, those warnings didn’t fade away. They came true.

The people closest to this technology saw exactly where this was heading—and now we’re watching it unfold in real time.

Tomorrow night, we’ll focus on solutions. But today, we need to face something far more immediate: what the world looks like if no one steps in to change course. 🧵
The risks surrounding AI were never hidden—they were identified early by the very people building the systems.

Engineers and employees inside major tech companies raised clear, repeated concerns about how these tools could be used for surveillance and warfare. They understood something fundamental: once the capability exists, control becomes secondary. Infrastructure drives expansion.

Even when leadership promises restraint, the incentives push in the opposite direction.

In 2018, thousands of Google employees signed a letter opposing military AI projects, warning: “We believe that Google should not be in the business of war.”

That warning points to a deeper reality. AI doesn’t stay confined to its original purpose. Once integrated into defense pipelines, it becomes adaptable, scalable, and increasingly difficult to contain. Years later, whistleblower allegations suggest the exact scenarios employees feared are no longer hypothetical.

The pattern is hard to ignore—internal resistance, public reassurance, then quiet escalation. The people closest to the technology saw where this was heading.

And even they couldn’t stop it.

@elonmusk @tomzhu_nz @Tesla_AI

THREAD: The NYT Iran war story wasn’t written for the left. It was written for MAGA. Here’s the proof including where the story’s own claims fall apart. 🧵

The only question I have left is which Eurasian slop peddler thought of this plan.
On April 7 hours before the Iran ceasefire the NYT dropped a 4,500-word story on how Trump went to war.

Bylined Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan.

Sourced entirely from anonymous officials.

A preview of their forthcoming book “Regime Change,” due June 23 from Simon & Schuster.
Every major outlet treated it as the definitive account.

The MAGA anti-war crowd treated it as scripture.

And that’s the tell.
The story’s core claims:

— Netanyahu gave Trump a “hard sell” in the Situation Room on Feb 11

— Ratcliffe called the regime change plan “farcical”

— Rubio said “in other words, it’s bullshit”

— Vance was the most vocal opponent warned of regional chaos and MAGA betrayal

— Trump decided on “instinct,” ignoring advisers

— Hegseth was the most enthusiastic

Zero named sources.

Every claim deniable.

Every official given an alibi.

Let’s test the claims against the public record.

on one hand, i share the sentiment of compute needing to be open at all costs to avoid a few people controlling everything

on the other hand, even if we end up in the bad timeline, there is always a way out of that very situation and no i am not talking about taking your own life that is not a solution i am talking about some other ideas :)
those ideas clearly being hosting a gmod server and a minecraft one and endearing them to play until they are physically too tired to do anything, clearly.
jokes aside in general i think a lot of people are being way too doomer-ish about humanity and its role right now in general, the concept of a permanent underclass is not really a sustainable one at all lol

🚨EXCLUSIVE VIDEO and EXPOSÉ: CHRISTOPHER NIENHUIS CAUGHT AS*AULTING A FEMALE STUDENT BEFORE SEPARATE ST*BBING INCIDENT: ENTIRE FAMILY HAS HISTORY OF TARGETING

The same advocates for Karmelo Anthony are now defending Christopher Nienhuis, the teen who st*bbed another teen in a North Texas community park last year. They claim “victim” and are now claiming that his father is also a “victim, despite the fact that Mark Nienhuis was just charged with aggravated As*ault with a Deadly Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury and EIGHT counts of Aggravated As*ault with a Deadly Weapon after his gunfire struck his OWN 11-year-old daughter.

However, I have spent countless hours digging deeply into the family and interviewing those close by in Midlothian. This was prompted by the fact that Dominque Alexander (a previous spokesperson for Karmelo Anthony) claimed Christopher was a “victim” and his family had suffered from “racism” and “targeting”. Dominque Alexander, a career criminal himself, has defended all the wrong people in an effort to position himself in the spotlight, and I immediately knew that what he claimed was nonsense. His voice always raises a red flag.

I was right.

Christopher Nienhuis, and his brothers, have a past of harassment, fighting and causing trouble within the community. Christopher, who is currently on house arrest for a st*bbing and awaiting trial, physically as*aulted a fellow student in October, 2024. I have obtained video footage of the as*ault. According to witnesses I have spoke with and the obtained report, Christopher grabbed the female student’s cell phone and threw it across the room. He also broke the victim’s laptop. He then began to punch the female till she was finally underneath him. This is where the recording begins below. She was hit in the head but thankfully was not seriously injured.

His family did later try to make excuses for Christopher and claimed that the female student had “tried to wrap the charging cord around Christopher’s head”. The police stated that Christopher never made this claim, and suffered no marks. It would seem that holding their son accountable tends to be an ongoing issue, considering Mark (his father) posted Christopher’s bail after the parking lot stabbing.

After the altercation in the classroom, the victim was scared to attend class, and attended school online, causing her to miss the rest of her high school experience. Also, following the classroom fight, Markel Nienhuis (the older brother) posted a childhood photo of his brothers on Snapchat with the caption “Call 1-800-Whoop THAT H0”.

Also, on one of the female victim’s Instagram lives, Jayden Nienhuis (another brother) posted “I’ll use the brick method on all y’all” and “Ima touch all ya’ll when ya’ll sleep”.

From April of 2022, I have also obtained a video of all of the Nienhuis brothers fighting. According to the witness I obtained the video from, two large groups were fighting eachother. And you can visibly seen Chris Nienhuis (black T-shirt) hitting a boy in a blue hoodie in the face with a rock.

In a third video I obtained, Chris is fighting in a class hallway. According to a source, this fight ended up continuing in the school bathroom. And according to the witness, Chris and his friends reportedly made a few edits of the student he fought and shared it online in an effort to bully him.

So while these so-called “advocates” try to paint this as a good family being unfairly targeted, here’s the reality:

A little girl has been shot - by her own father.

That father now sits in a hospital facing multiple violent felony charges.

And his son - the one they’re calling a “victim” - is awaiting trial for stabbing another teenager and nearly killing him.

This seems to be an unfortunate family pattern. And others are suffering the consequences.

Today’s anti-Dignity Act pile-on is remarkably intellectually dishonest.

It’s people describing the failures of the status quo as if they’re arguments against a bill designed to fix them. 🧵
“How do we vet millions?”

By making people come forward. Eligible applicants must register with DHS, submit biometrics, admit unlawful presence, pass criminal background checks, and check in every 2 years. If they don’t register, they must depart within 12 months.
“How do they afford to live if they pay taxes?”

The same way MILLIONS already do: by working. Unauthorized immigrants are already in the labor force. The difference is that the bill pulls more of that work into a legal, taxed system instead of leaving it in the shadows.

The "what is Danish culture?" thread

(a short resume)
x.com/i/grok/share/a…
"The thread has consistently circled around the distinction between the old, organic Danish/Nordic core and later overlays (Christianity, Enlightenment, modern state, multiculturalism)."
"Danish culture, as we have mapped it, is not primarily a product of the Reformation, the welfare state or 19th-century Romanticism. It is a deep, organic life-form shaped over 4,000+ years by the Nordic environment, migration patterns and social selection."

Japan did everything the experts recommended. For three decades straight.

The result was three decades of stagnation. 🧵 Image
In 1990, Japan's asset bubble collapsed. The Nikkei had peaked near 39,000. Land prices had tripled in five years. The grounds of the Imperial Palace were reportedly worth more than the entire state of California.

When the correction came, it was severe. And the government made a choice: don't let the market clear. Fix it instead.

That choice defined what followed.Image
The response was exactly what mainstream economics recommends.

Ten major fiscal stimulus packages in the 1990s alone, totaling over 100 trillion yen. Interest rates cut to near zero and held there for decades. Quantitative easing, pioneered by Japan before the West copied it. Infrastructure spending at over 5% of GDP, more than double the U.S. rate.

No country has ever run the Keynesian playbook more faithfully.Image

Vista aerea, Multiplaza La Romana.

I use 2 strategies to trade the market. 1 is an open range expansion/breakout trade setup using the first 15 minutes of the opening range 930-45am eastern time. The second Is an Equilibrium/Mean Reversion trading strategy using the 6, 630, 7, 7340, & 8 hourly candles.
Strategy 1 15m ORB
1. Wait for the 930-945 opening candle to form and close
2. wait for a break AND close outside of that 15m range on the 3 or the 5 minute timeframe (i usually use the 5 lately)
3. enter at open of next candle or retest of orb
4. Target 50% of ORB range
Break and close. You have 2 choices here You can enter at open of next candle or wait on the retest. Set profit to 50% of ORB range above. Stop can be below breakout candle or below orb midline. Both entries worked on this day. 2.2.26 Image

New Working Paper Alert 📔
Do accents shape social and economic opportunity? With @miweintraub83 and @NGarbirasDiaz, we tested this in Colombia through an online experiment with 6,000 adults.

🧵 Image
We discover a large “accent premium”: those with high-class accents are more likely to be seen as trustworthy, employable, and worth choosing as friends, coworkers, business partners, or bosses. We also show why this premium emerges. Spoiler: it is not only income or education. Image
Why should we care? Accents are among the earliest cues people perceive. They signal not only where someone is from, but also where they stand in a society’s class structure. If the way we pronounce words changes how others treat us, accents likely help reproduce inequality.

Image

Any assessment of the jacobins that does not stress they ended slavery the moment they got power, and forced through civil rights for jewish and black people and actors (!), that they opposed the girondinist war etc is simply unserious. Their policy track record was unbelievable.
There were deep organisational issues with the revolutionary government, but these were constitutional and jurisdictional issues that had basically nothing to do with the ideological commitments of the jacobins or the personalities of their influential members in parliament.
Pretending the committee of public safety were mustache twirling villains whereas the committee of general security, which coordinated all the purges in joint meetings, if mentioned at all, was some kind of sane liberal alternative (as if they didn't do a coup) is pure propaganda

launching `data-label-factory` a generic auto-labeling pipeline. You write a YAML for your object class and run one command: a vision dataset on a 16 GB MacBook. No GPU, no labelers, no vendor. Using Gemma 4 @Google mlx-vlm @Prince_Canuma + Falcon Perception @lkhphuc
here's how : 🧵(point your /agent at the claude.md file to start asap)
your object class and run one command:
data_label_factory pipeline --project projects/drones.yaml

Stages: gather images from DDG/Wikimedia/YouTube → VLM filter for yes/no →
Falcon Perception draws bboxes → second VLM verifies each box → review what's left in a browser. All of it runs locally on Apple Silicon.
The bbox grounder is Falcon Perception (~600 MB). The verifier is a 26B-param Gemma 4 MoE that should not fit on a 16 GB Mac. It does, because we stream
cold experts off the SSD on demand and only keep ~3 GB of weights hot at any given time.

Resident set ends up around 5 GB total. Our 'MLX + Expert Sniper' does the heavy lifting.

Same idea would work for any MoE model where activation rate is~10%.

And if you’ve ever wondered, this is what EMOTIONAL SAFETY looks like:
1. Vulnerability without fear:

Being able to share the deepest parts of you, your past, your fears, your dreams, your secret wishes, without worrying you’d suffer consequences for your honesty. Rather, knowing you’d be understood, seen, empathized with, and loved even more for who you are.
2. Intimacy without restraint:

The ability to seek comfort and support without feeling like a burden. You can walk up to them at anytime and ask for a hug, and they’d stop whatever they’re doing to give you the biggest hug without question. All you need to do is ask, “Do you have a minute?” and you become the object of their full attention. Space is often made and held for you.

A massive Nature study of 27,885 GLP-1 users just dropped some major news about Ozempic and tirzepatide.

Your DNA determines how much weight you lose and how bad the side effects hit.

1 in 3 people see minimal results, and now we know why: (1/9) Image
Researchers found a variant in the GLP1R gene (the specific receptor these drugs target) that affects weight loss.

Each copy of this variant adds about 0.76 kg to your total loss.

If you have two copies, you'll likely lose significantly more than someone without them. Image
The response gap is huge, because while average weight loss is 10%, some lose over 25% and others lose nothing.

Using the same drug and dose leads to completely different outcomes because our receptors don't all function the same way. Image

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:

"Citizens of Israel, I want to thank you, our wonderful nation.

While you demonstrated resilience sitting in the secure rooms and shelters, together we achieved immense accomplishments: Our fighters at the front and you on the home front.
But before all else, I wish to bow my head in memory of our loved ones who fell in this campaign.

I wish to embrace the bereaved families and, on behalf of all of you, send wishes for a speedy recovery to our wounded loved ones.
My brothers and sisters, the State of Israel has achieved immense accomplishments, achievements that until recently seemed completely imaginary.

Iran is weaker than ever, and Israel is stronger than ever. This is the bottom line of this campaign, up to this moment.

Who won the Iran war?

The answer depends entirely on your prior view of Donald Trump. If you did not like Trump, for wahtever reason, prior to the bombardment of Iran, the US and Israel obviously suffered a humiliating defeat there is no coming back from. 1/
If you did not actively hate Trump the answer is rather different. Lists of regime thugs taken out, IRGC bases blown up, missile launchers destroyed, navy and airforce eliminated will be trotted out. 2/
The Islamic regime was, effectively, assassinated. Production facilities blown sky high. But, Trump adverse people will argue, the regime still exists and the facilities can be rebuilt. The war changed nothing. 3/

The ceasefire with Iran is barely 12 hours old and already disputed on every front.

I pulled the exact answers from today’s White House (Karoline Leavitt) + Pentagon (Pete Hegseth) briefings on the biggest points of confusion 🧵 Image
1. Does the ceasefire cover Lebanon/Hezbollah?

Leavitt: “Lebanon is not part of this ceasefire. That has been relayed to all parties.” Netanyahu supports the deal and will remain a “helpful partner.” Future inclusion? “Will continue to be discussed.”
2. Is the Strait of Hormuz actually open?

Leavitt: Iranian state media claims are “completely unacceptable.” White House sees “an uptick of traffic today.” Ceasefire is “subject to” immediate, safe reopening with no limitations. Monitoring “minute by minute.”

Afternoon! (Again)

We're expecting the first Joint Budget Committee meeting of the 2026 fiscal session to gavel in soon. Only one thing on the agenda, so hopefully short and sweet!

HB1002 deals with district judge reimbursements

arkleg.state.ar.us/Home/FTPDocume…
Actually pretty big news - it sounds like Rep. Lane Jean is preparing to step down as co-chair of Joint Budget Committee. This is a pretty big deal - Jean has co-chaired it for 12 years and genuinely done a lot of good in the role. Rep. Lee Johnson seems prepped to take over.
Rep. Johnson is also a pretty good dude. A practicing physician, he's quietly shepherded a lot of great healthcare legislation through the years. A good move!

The dividing lines in the next election will be clear and will be around issues of Canada's sovereignty. The Conservatives are relentlessly anti-China.
Poilievere seeks to reestablish trade relations with the U.S. by capitulating to Trump's whims. He's already said that he will tariff Chinese EVs at 100%. Trump hates Canada's supply management of the dairy industry and that will be the next to go in Poilievre's platform.
We are in an historical pivot point brought about (largely) by a fracturing of institutions and their supporting systems, like global trade. We were there at the end of WWII.

1) don't make arguments about how we're on stolen land & white ppl r bad; works for native americans or black americans. doesn't work a for u

2) a free country, but just because something is legal doesn't mean ppl aren't going to be really annoyed
3) typical/normal for new communities to settle together into 'ghettos,' whether lower east, cupertino or frisco. but it's also typical normal that this elicits rxns from established communities. be chill

4) express patriotism whenever u can, even if some americans are dicks
5) work on skinny-fat body-type that seems to be the norm among middle class indians. get on GLPs or shift to high protein. ppl are shallow, sorry

6) it's hard, but show grace and try and be more understated. many societies are dog-eat-dog, but ppl notice if u r grasping

The bitter lesson strikes biology—again.

The current SOTA virtual cell uses a 7-term loss function and injects 6 knowledge sources into a bespoke architecture.

We trained a Transformer on free public data. With a chocolate pudding ranking method.

We beat SOTA. But what our virtual cell learned next will SHOCK you🧵Image
Everyone in bio is trying to build a 'virtual cell'—an AI model that understands cell biology well enough to predict what happens when you intervene. The field thinks you need massive perturbation datasets to train one. Billions of dollars are flowing into Big Perturbation to generate this data.

NLP thought the same thing. Big Parallel Corpora and Big Treebank held back the field for years, until GPT-1 figured out unsupervised training on raw text and all that became a footnote.

Big Perturbation doesn't want you to know this one simple trick for unsupervised pretraining on observational RNA data...Image
We found the answer in a 2022 statistics paper on ranking likelihoods: P(a > b > c...). The paper had 4 citations and its most recent applications were ranking chocolate puddings and golfers.

We scaled it up on hundreds of millions of cells and beat SOTA on perturbation prediction.

And then things got far more interesting.Image

Recently reported $UDR sale in Denver provides a fun opportunity to get some insight into property-level returns from an apartment investment in a market that's gone from boom to bust.
Property reported sold April 6th at $137.3m / $630k per unit (!!!).
1/ Image
$UDR originally provided a participating loan to the developer in 2013, funding up to 85% loan to cost / $93.5m at a 6.5% rate. They had a ~2yr purchase option following completion and were entitled to 50% of the upside.
2/ Image
They exercised their purchase option in Q4 2017 at a price of $141.5 - a 4.5% cap rate.
However their upside participation totaled $14.9m, resulting in an effective basis of $126.5m, which they indicate reflected a 5.0% yield on cost.

Bengal SIR: The patter deepens - what the data from Malda and Murshidabad is asking?

AltNews has digitised electoral rolls of 12.8L+ voters:
Kolkata : Bhabanipur & Ballygunge
Malda : Manikchak & Mothabari
Murshidabad : Baharampur & Samserganj

Thread. Image
Mothabari(Malda) was at the centre of a recent controversy where seven judicial officers were gheraoed by agitated locals and were stuck for over 9 hrs. They were posted to adjudicate objections raised during the SIR process. Supreme Court called the incident “preplanned, calculated and motivated”.

Alt News decided to examine Malda and Murshidabad's data.
But first — what is "Under Adjudication"?

A software flag introduced for the FIRST TIME in Indian electoral history during Bengal SIR 2026. ECI calls it a neutral algorithm triggered by data inconsistencies — name spellings, transliteration errors.

The numbers suggest it isn't neutral.

Image

NEW: After Morgan McSweeney’s Labour Together operation, a new Starmer-linked think tank has been popping up on X.

An account with 7k followers, but their ads receive millions of views.

I’ve been investigating “Labour Future” and its links to McSweeney.

Here’s what I found:🧵 Image
Image
Labour Future Limited was dissolved in 2022, but was reborn as “Labour Future (2025) Limited” last August.

Their director is Labour councillor Brendan Chilton, and their advisory council includes a key Morgan McSweeney ally.

Is this a repeat of McSweeney’s Labour Together? Image
Image
Labour Future’s advisory council includes Maurice Glasman, founder of the “Blue Labour” lobby group.

Glasman joined Labour Together just after it was set up in 2015 and helped attract initial funding from Trevor Chinn + Martin Taylor.

Glasman described McSweeney as “one of us”. Image

Managed Agents is the first 'agent in the cloud' API that has the right mix of simplicity and complexity.

Implementation details like how you manage a sandbox are abstracted, but you have a lot of control over the actual execution of the model.

Firstborn daughter betrayal list:
1. “I never asked you to do that for me:” The words will come from someone you’ve sacrificed for. Someone you’ve shown up for over and over again. And it will hit you like a punch to the chest. Because suddenly, all the lifting, all the burden-carrying, all the stepping up when no one else would - it’s being rewritten as something you chose to do. Like it was charity—just the volunteer nobody acknowledged. 😕
2. Your mother being your first bully: Not in the obvious way. But in the little comments. The comparisons. The hurtful words that quietly carved into how you see yourself. Moments where her “tough love” made you feel responsible for her moods, her happiness, her peace. You love her deeply—but her voice was the first one that hurt you before the world even got a chance. And unlearning that voice takes years.

RELEASING RETH 2.0!

Reth is now faster, smaller, and ready for the future of crypto infrastructure.

Gigagas per second has not just been achieved, it's been blown out of the water.

We've put in a ton of work in this, and we're incredibly proud to be sharing this with everyone. Image
Reth 2.0 is really incredible and not just on small Ethereum-size blocks.

We took benchmarking seriously, built synthetic benchmarks for gigagas blocks, and we measured everything in depth.

We had to improve our infrastructure to reduce the time to run an E2E benchmark from hours to minutes. This required insane amounts of work & tuning.

We even built an auto-optimization harness similar to Karpathy's autoresearch which we hope to get a lot of gains in the coming weeks.Image
We got on this performance journey around 2024, when we pushed the industry towards aligning around "Gigagas per second" as the goal.

It took us over a year to tame the "parallel, pipelined, modified state root", but we did it, without having to resort to a trie-specific database AND preserving the amazing archive node capabilities of Reth.

Everything you’ve been told about skin cancer and the sun is a lie.

Outdoor workers get 3–10 times MORE sun exposure yet have LOWER melanoma rates than those stuck inside.

It gets worse.

A 20-year Swedish study found that avoiding sunlight raised the risk of premature death by 60%, especially from heart disease and cancer.

They pushed sunscreen and fear while ignoring the simple truth that sun exposure mostly causes HARMLESS cancers, while sun avoidance is linked to the DEADLIEST ones.

Get ready to be re-educated about the sun. It’s time to unlearn the lies you’ve been sold.

🧵 THREADImage
Ever wonder why you were told to hide from the sun?

It was never about your health.

Sunlight regulates circadian rhythms, lifts your mood, drives blood flow, and lowers your risk of dying.

And yet dermatology declared war on it—turning life-giving light into a deadly threat while skin cancer diagnoses soared.Image

3 Iran held back its small air force—it wasn't destroyed
4 There's been no impact on Iran's nuclear capabilities
5 Only .3% of Iran's army was neutralized

The ceasefire was supposed to end the risk. Instead, it exposed something much bigger. What if the real story isn’t peace, but what almost happened at Kharg Island?

1/12 Image
Why this island keeps coming up?

There is one location that keeps repeatedly appearing in discussions about escalation: Kharg Island in the Persian Gulf.

A large share of Iran’s oil exports flows through this point, with some estimates reaching as high as 80–90 percent. That alone explains why Washington has reportedly examined scenarios involving a limited military operation there, potentially combining naval and ground elements. At first glance, the idea looks rational and even efficient, because it targets a clear economic bottleneck.

But the problem is that strategies that look clean in theory rarely behave the same way once they are placed into real conditions, where geography, logistics, and political reactions begin to interact.
Some reports mention troop movements into the region, including airborne units and naval deployments. However, this is not about a full-scale invasion of Iran, which would be unrealistic. The discussion is centered on limited, targeted operations against specific points.

2/12Image
The reason so much oil is concentrated at Kharg is not political, but physical.

The seabed around the island is deep enough to allow large oil tankers to dock directly, while much of Iran’s coastline is too shallow for that kind of infrastructure. In other words, this is not simply a matter of preference but of geography shaping economic flows.

At the same time, Kharg is not Iran’s only export route, even if it is by far the most important one. During the Iran–Iraq war in the 1980s, repeated strikes on the island forced Tehran to rethink its vulnerability, which eventually led to the construction of a pipeline running to the port of Jask, further southeast, beyond the Strait of Hormuz.

This detail matters more than it may seem. Jask sits outside the main chokepoint of the region, which means that if Kharg were disrupted, Iran could still redirect part of its exports there. The capacity is significantly lower, so exports would drop sharply, but they would not collapse completely. The system would be damaged, not disabled.

ATOR 1: O BANCO EMISSOR

ATOR 2: A CORRETORA

Image

Both sides of this discussion are annoying.

I don’t think Iran's aid to Russia justifies everything Zelensky says. And I don’t like how some foreigners use it to justify war.

But if you’re talking about Ukraine’s position on Iran, you can’t ignore the Shahed drones. 🧵1/12
Like every Ukrainian, I’ve spent many days without electricity and water since September 2022 because Iran provided Russia with drones and instructors to attack Ukrainian civilian infrastructure. Many civilians have been killed and injured as a result. Nevertheless… 2/12
The Israeli-US attack on Iran is a crime against the Iranian people and international law.

This is the starting point from which any conversation about this war should begin. Nothing the Ayatollah regime has done in Iran or abroad justifies this attack. 3/12

I told my therapist:

“I feel like I’m running out of time to build the life I want.”

She didn’t even ask why.
She just looked at me gently and said:
1. Your timeline is yours alone.

Stop comparing your chapter 2 to someone else's chapter 20. The anxiety of falling behind is just a symptom of watching too many highlight reels.
2. You are not exhausted from working too hard.

You are exhausted from stressing about where you think you should be by now. Drop the imaginary deadline.

Good day, Arkansas! We're back for coverage of the Arkansas Legislature's fiscal session, 2026 edition.

You can read our preview of what we expect to come up here: forarpeople.org/2026-fiscal-se…
The quick and dirty summary: LEARNS likely to be the defining issue of the session, with SNAP, PBS, U of A, and some other stuff likely to make an appearance. We DON'T expect to even see a vote on the Franklin County Prison appropriation, but never say never.
This is just our best guess, though. As ever, sometimes things crop up! The 2024 session ended with a very unexpected fight over the Game and Fish Commission appropriation, so who knows for sure?

One of the most sought-after Indian allies in these wars was the Marathas. As the preeminent Hindu power during the height of Mughal expansion, they had survived by developing a strong cavalry arm—which the Europeans competed to win to their side.🧵 Image
Mughal military power rested on their excellent cavalry, which was mounted on superb Turkic and Arabian breeds they brought in from Central Asia. At their height, they imported upwards of 100,000 horses a year through Afghanistan. Image
Their geographic position magnified this advantage. India is not good country for raising horses, and the Mughal power base in the northwest allowed them to cut off the supply of horses to their rivals, making it very difficult for them to source remounts. Image

NEW: A stunning new report claims that the Pentagon summoned Pope Leo XIV’s top American diplomat and threatened him after the U.S.-born pontiff gave his January state-of-the-world address.

Leo used the address to denounce a world ruled by “a diplomacy based on force” and “zeal for war.”
thelettersfromleo.com/p/the-pentagon…
In January, behind closed doors at the Pentagon, Under Secretary of War for Policy Elbridge Colby summoned Cardinal Christophe Pierre — Pope Leo XIV’s then-ambassador to the United States — and delivered a lecture.

America, Colby and his colleagues told the cardinal, has the military power to do whatever it wants in the world. The Catholic Church had better take its side.

As tempers rose, one U.S. official reached for a fourteenth-century weapon and invoked the Avignon Papacy, the period when the French Crown used military force to bend the bishop of Rome to its will.

That scene, broken this week by Mattia Ferraresi in an extraordinary piece of journalism for The Free Press, may be the most remarkable moment in the long and knotted history of the American republic’s relationship with the Catholic Church. substack.com/home/post/p-19…

It's used by elites from authoritarian countries where political retribution is a real threat.

Zinc carnosine rapidly and powerfully reduces gut inflammation + heals digestion, even in severe cases.

(🧵1/7)Image
Zinc is known to be depleted in inflammatory bowel conditions,

and its levels directly are correlated with the severity and stage of the disease.

Worse inflammation = lower zinc, universally.

Zinc carnosine is a special form of zinc used overseas for various digestive ailments.

It was administered as a one time enema - 150 mg of zinc carnosine (~30 mg elemental zinc).
