Exhibition Management

It is essential to know that a clear understanding of the VAT rules is crucial to avoid unnecessary financial problems.
If it concerns individuals or organisations registered within EU member countries (except the Netherlands) VAT is reverse charged, given they can provide a currently valid VAT-ID. This results in zero VAT on invoices issued to these exhibitors.
Individuals or organisations from non-EU-countries will only be exempt from Dutch VAT if providing us with a certificate of their entrepreneurial status (i.e. scanned registration as company at the respective tax authority).

Environmental and Social Impact
Renting is reuse, making it environmentally friendly. But at The Works we take this a step further by pursuing a sustainability policy throughout our entire value chain, aimed at lowering our environmental impact and maintaining a high quality of life.

Sustainability
Recycling is sustainable by nature. We guarantee an optimal life cycle by making our choices of materials and suppliers based on quality, timeless design and reusable materials such as carpet tiles and hard wall shell scheme booths. All of this in combination with conducting thorough inspections and  demanding lifespan-increasing maintenance and demanding the use of recyclable packaging during transport from our suppliers.

Environment
Throughout our business process, we maintain a focus on environmental impact. This is clear from our and our suppliers’ efficient energy consumption, use and reuse of high-quality materials, operational efficiency and environment-conscious transport planning. We also consider such aspects as the recyclability of waste materials, stackability and volume considerations in relation to storage and transport capacity and CO2 emissions.

Society
We at The Works are well aware of our responsibility as a purchaser, rental partner and employer. We feel strongly about devoting the necessary attention to people and the environment throughout the entire chain.
That is why we work with suppliers who pursue socially responsible business and production practices and only use materials bearing the PEFC or FSC label.

Climate
By devoting considerable attention to reducing the energy consumption of our vehicle fleet and offices, we strive to lower our impact on the environment as much as possible. We calculate our CO2 emissions based on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. This information enables us to achieve further savings in our energy consumption and compensate for our CO2 emissions.

Proximity 
In order to be able to provide the most accurate service, in combination with protecting the environment, one of our primary goals is to operate as closely to our clients‘ events as possible. That is why we have established a European-wide network of suppliers and partners. This way we can serve our clients in almost any major exhibition and congress facility throughout Europe, without having to travel vast distances. Keeping distances short results in lower fuel consumption and, as a result, lower CO2 emissions.
