Hello again, December.
Another year has come and (is almost) gone. - A Love Letter to December
Somehow, it’s the end of the year, again. It’s true what they say; as you get older the years fly by faster and faster. I swear it was just March. I vividly remember making a February Spotify playlist. And watching 4th of July fireworks. And counting the days till fall. But somehow, again, here we are. Where snow covers the ground and a winter chill covers the days. When the festive coziness of it all is top priority and it’s socially acceptable to play Christmas music all day and watch Christmas movies all night. And to go to bed at 8:30 pm since the sun sets four hours before then.
I decided I want to make a collage of all things that feel like December to me. I think I’ll start do it for every month. I spent hours making this one so I do hope it’s pleasant to look at.
This month the cork board is a little cluttered and cozy because that’s what December feels like to me. It’s a lot. There’s always a bunch of things going on and everywhere you look you see red and green. But as chaotic as it can feel, there’s comfort in the chaos. There’s something magical about December. How people come together to be more giving, have more cozy movie nights, rest a little more, make their spaces more intentionally pretty with lights and decorations. And I think something else that makes it feel so comforting is the consistency of it.
Every year, without fail, it comes. No later or earlier than it did last year. And here it is. Again. And because people do the same things they do every year in December, that they’ve done since they were little, it gives it this nostalgic magic that tends to remind you of the things that really matter. And for someone like me, who’s love language is gift giving, it’s such a fulfilling time.
So here she is again, December. A warm embrace to welcome in the beginning of winter. A great reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the all the months that came before.
May this sweet December keep you warm and filled with a feeling of magic and comfort. Have a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows, light candles at 5:00pm and slip into winter, the season of rest & restore, reflect & regroup, slowly and softly.

December is a time that radiates warmth for me. I absolutely loved this collage. I am a visual person and to see the warmth of December before me is such a delight. Keep up the work and please do make more collages in the future!
