Why do writers seem to hate Irene Adler so much?

So yesterday I went to go see the new Sherlock film with a friend, and I was not impressed. Tbh, the main thing that really made me side eye the movie was the treatment of Irene Adler's character in the beginning of the film (spoilers ahead). It truly demonstrates just how disposable, and even replacable, men in Hollywood seem to think women are. Killing Irene in the beginning of the film was, at least to me, an obvious tactic used by the writers so they could have a new female character, because god forbid you have more than one badass lady in a film. Writing like this annoys the shit out of me, not only because I've seen it happen multiple times (frankly, I shouldn't have to see it at all), but because it's just damn lazy.

Also, the way they killed Irene off was the worst. Irene Adler is not someone who dies after being careless with her food when conversing with a villian from season one of Fringe. Fuck no. I'm sorry, Guy Ritchie, but do you know who Irene Adler is? Well let me tell you. Irene Adler is a badass lady and is the only person who is by any means, equal to Sherlock. Someone who is clearly that awesome does not get killed like that. No. If you're going to kill Irene Fucking Adler, you do it in the most awesome, tasteful, and deserving way possible, just like you would if you ever decided to kill Sherlock or Watson.

Combine this with the FUCKING HORRIFIC treatment of Irene in BBC's Sherlock (fuck you Moffat, just fuck you) I just. I can't.

Also I'm sad because I can't watch new episodes of Young Justice because they don't EXIST.
