I thought about how each screening is its own living, breathing circuit of experience - Dario Llinares

The week just gone, I went to the cinema three times.

Three different films, three different cinemas.

Sunday: Crime 101, at Peckhamplex.

Monday: The Experience, at Close-Up.

Friday: Wuthering Heights, at Everyman Crystal Palace.

Dario’s words, quoted above, echoed through each of these visits to the hallowed bright-wall-dark-room. Each experience was decidedly different, and not just because of the divergence of styles and storylines on screen.

In fact, the singularity of each circuit of experience was down largely to the aura, set-up, and environs of the cinemas themselves - as well as who I went there with.
