It’s great for shared bathrooms and small business spaces, all in a clean contemporary design.

Red/Green Occupancy Indicator: A built-in indicator changes color when the door is locked or unlocked. It’s visible from up to 40 feet away, so no one has to knock or guess.

Contemporary Style: The square lever profile fits modern home decor and pairs with other Halifax collection hardware.

Grade AAA BHMA Certified: Security, durability, and finish meet the highest ANSI/BHMA standard. This ensures it’s suitable for frequent, high-traffic use.

Easy DIY Install: A screwdriver is all you need. The latch backset adjusts between 2-3/8 and 2-3/4 inches, and the lever fits standard doors from 1-3/8 to 1-3/4 inches thick.

Lockout Prevention: A release tool is included so the door can be unlocked from the outside, reducing the risk of accidental lockouts.

The Halifax Occupancy Lever is a practical, well-built upgrade for any shared space.

Under 249g, No FAA Registration: At under 249g, the S1 falls below the FAA registration threshold for recreational use in the US, so most users can fly right out of the box.

Up to 40-Minute Flight Time: A single battery delivers up to 40 minutes of flight, and the 3-battery combo extends that to up to 120 minutes of total airtime.

Front Obstacle Detection and Auto Return: Real-time front obstacle sensing helps avoid collisions, and the drone returns home automatically if the signal drops or the battery runs low.

Smart Shooting Modes: Auto Track, One-Tap Pro Shots, Timelapse, Panorama, and vertical 2.7K video for social media give users creative tools without manual setup.

The SKYROVER S1 is a solid pick for first-time flyers who want capable hardware at an accessible price.

If you’re like me, Mother’s Day crept up faster than you expected—and now you’re in that “I need something good, fast, and obviously not panic-bought” mode. But that doesn’t mean you still can’t impress your mom. You just have to get creative with last-minute Mother’s Day gifts.

My advice? Don’t go for a generic mom gift here. No flowers or slippers. Ignore that cute coffee mug from the card shop. You want something that feels thoughtful—like it was planned. The tricky part is that most last-minute gifts are either too cheap or too lazy, and that’s what we’re avoiding here.

So this is a curated selection of last-minute Mother’s Day gifts that actually hold up—things that feel considered, useful, and genuinely gift-worthy, even if you’re buying them at the eleventh hour.

What to look for in last-minute Mother’s Day gifts

If you’re shopping for a last-minute Mother’s Day gift, the real priority is finding something that feels intentional without days of research or overthinking. At this point, speed matters, but so does avoiding anything that screams “rushed decision”. Mom can tell.

First, you need something that looks thoughtful, a gift you choose for her. Wellness gadgets, home accessories, or items that align with her interests all work great here.

Second, ease matters. She probably doesn’t want something she’ll have to “figure out.” The best last-minute gifts are intuitive—plug-in, wear, use, enjoy. If it requires setup tutorials or long instructions, keep looking.

Finally, speed and availability are essential. You want her to feel great on Mother’s Day, not days after. For that reason, all the gifts below are in stock and available for fast shipping.

It’s basically a full home gym + personal trainer in one sleek setup, but without the ongoing subscription stress. I like it because it does the thinking for you—guides workouts, adjusts to her level, and keeps everything simple. It’s definitely more of a statement gift, but it still works last-minute because it feels intentional the second she sees it. If you want something that says “I really thought about this,” this delivers.

Get it for $4798.00$3598.00-25%

It’s definitely more of a wow gift, but still easy because it’s just wear-and-play. No appointments, no effort—just a home skincare upgrade that feels a bit spa-like. I like it because it turns a last-minute situation into something that actually looks planned. If you want something that lands with impact but still fits the time crunch, this is the one.

Get it for $349.99

It’s compact, powerful, and feels way more luxe than a typical hair tool. I like it because it’s actually useful in real life—travel, busy mornings, random weekends away—so it doesn’t feel like a one-off present. It’s also one of those gifts that looks expensive and intentional. Basically, it does the job of looking thoughtful for you.

Get it for $299.99

It’s perfect for a last-minute Mother’s Day situation because it feels personal without needing any extra effort from her. It tracks sleep, stress, recovery—basically her whole wellbeing in the background. I like that it doesn’t ask her to change anything, just quietly gives insight over time. It reads as caring, not random, which is exactly what you want when you’re out of time but still want to get it right.

Get it for $239.00

It’s basically a sleep upgrade in wearable form—blocks light, plays calming audio, and helps her actually switch off. No setup drama, no learning curve, just put it on and zone out. For a last-minute gift, it works because it feels instantly useful, not like something that’ll sit in a drawer. Really, it’s one of those rare “she’ll use this tonight” kind of gifts.

Get it for $99.00

It’s a wearable fan and mist system, which sounds extra but is actually super practical—especially for travel, walks, or outdoor days. I like that it’s flexible—you can hold it, clip it, or wear it—so it fits into real life easily. It’s also one of those gifts she wouldn’t think to buy herself but will absolutely use. For a rushed gift, it feels surprisingly intentional.

Get it for $129.99

I like that it doesn’t ask her to change anything—it just fits into something she already does. It feels a bit beauty-tech without being overwhelming or complicated. For a rushed gift, that’s ideal. It’s small, practical, and just different enough to feel intentional instead of default. Honestly, it’s the kind of thing she’ll start using immediately without even thinking about it.

Get it for $59.00$39.99-32.2%

It’s one of those “plug it in and everything just sounds better” situations—music, podcasts, whatever she’s into. I like it for a last-minute gift because there’s no learning curve or setup stress, it just works. It also feels modern without being complicated, which is key here. Honestly, it’s the kind of thing she’ll use every day, and that’s what makes it feel thoughtful—even if you bought it last minute.

Get it for $219.00

It keeps her coffee or tea at the perfect temperature for the entire day. It sounds small, but it’s weirdly life-changing. I like that it doesn’t require effort—set it once (or don’t), and it just works. It’s one of those everyday upgrades that feels a little luxe without being over the top. For a last-minute Mother’s Day gift, this is an easy win.

Get it for $164.90$134.90-18.2%

What to avoid when buying last-minute Mother’s Day gifts

If you’re buying last-minute, the biggest mistake is overcompensating with something that looks like effort but isn’t actually useful. Think bath sets, overly sentimental items, or anything that feels like it came from a “Mother’s Day aisle.” It reads rushed immediately.

I’d also skip anything that requires setup or a learning curve. If she has to “figure it out,” it’s not a gift—it’s a task.

How to choose a last-minute Mother’s Day gift fast

If you’re short on time, prioritize fast shipping or instant usability—that’s non-negotiable. Next, pick something that fits into her daily routine (coffee, sleep, music, skincare) so it feels natural right away.

When in doubt, go for the gift that requires the least explanation. If she can open it and immediately get why you chose it, you’re good!

Every brand is making a foldable right now—but most of them are just expensive copies of each other. So when Nothing shows up with something different, it’s worth paying attention. Today, I’m introducing the CMF Flip 1, a concept flip phone that doesn’t try to hide how it’s made—and might actually make foldables more accessible in the process.

It still has that satisfying clamshell snap (very Motorola Razr nostalgia), but everything around it feels more intentional—and more modular.

If this thing ever makes it to market, it could change what we expect from a flip phone entirely.

Why Foldable Phones Still Feel Overpriced

Right now, foldables are only available to people who can afford to spend thousands on a phone—or those who aren’t looking for a serious device. Meanwhile, every brand is refining the formula its own way—bigger screens, thinner hinges, book-style fold—but in the end, consumers are left with a phone genre that has no middle ground.

That’s an issue. People clearly want foldables—they’re fun to clack shut. And that front screen that also acts as a cover? Super convenient.

Still, few have thought to offer a mid-range foldable that looks cool—exactly what made the original Razr so popular in the first place.

What Is the CMF Flip 1 Concept Phone?

Nothing

That’s where the CMF Flip 1 becomes interesting.

As a concept from Nothing, it doesn’t try to compete with the Galaxy Z Fold7 on polish, or the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold on screen size. Instead, it leans into what Nothing does best—a radically minimalist design, segmented construction, and a folded shape that looks super practical.

On paper, it’s still a full smartphone experience, with a large touchscreen when opened, a compact clamshell form when closed, and a secondary outer display for quick glances.

But seen in this rendition, the foldable becomes a stylishly everyday device.

Visible Design and Modular Construction

This is where the CMF Flip 1 really separates itself. Those interchangeable back covers, and tool-free components hint at a modular design. Nothing has always said that people should be able to fix their phones. Will it give us the first modular foldable phone?

There’s not a screw I can even see on my Samsung. So the first modular, repairable foldable phone would be huge. Now, to be real with you, Nothing has been mum about the CMF Flip 1’s specifics. Its website and Instagram simply display images of the concept phone.

But suffice it to say, I’d be totally ready for a phone like this.

How Modularity Could Make Foldables More Affordable

Nothing

Most smartphones today are expensive not just because of what they do, but because of how they’re built. Foldables take that complexity and multiply it—hinges, folding displays, reinforced structures, precision sealing.

The CMF Flip 1 looks to have simplifed the architecture and reduced unnecessary layering. That doesn’t guarantee a cheap phone—but it does remove a lot of the reasons foldables have stayed locked in premium pricing territory.

Could This Change the Future of Smartphones?

Of course, it’s still just a concept. There’s no guarantee something like this ever launches exactly as shown. But the CMF Flip 1 certainly takes the foldable phone in a new direction. It’s a reminder that foldables don’t have to live permanently in the luxury category. They could be simpler. More repairable. And yes, potentially more affordable.

If the smartphone industry starts taking that idea seriously, we might finally see foldables move from novelty territory into something that actually makes sense for everyday users.

I used to think buying a TV was simple: pick the best picture quality you can afford and call it a day. But then TVs got… aesthetic. Now I’m staring at two completely different appliances: a sleek, performance-first screen that looks amazing when it’s on, or a design-forward TV that actually looks good when it’s off. Art TV vs regular TV, which one fits your home in 2026?

These days, that’s a valid question. Because a TV isn’t just a gadget anymore—it’s usually the biggest object in your living room. And whether you realize it or not, it shapes your space 24/7.

And Amazon’s recent launch of its affordable Ember Artline TV just gave us one more “frame” option to consider. If you’re torn between an art TV and a traditional TV, here’s how I’d think about it:

Art TV vs regular TV: what’s the real difference?

Here’s the part people might not realize right away: art TVs and regular TVs are optimized for totally different things—and that creates real compromises.

For starters, art TVs are designed to look like art first. That’s why they use matte, anti-reflective screens that scatter light instead of reflecting it. That’s also why artwork actually looks convincing—even in bright rooms. Matte coatings dramatically reduce glare and reflections, which is what makes the illusion work.

But that technology comes with trade-offs (nothing’s perfect, ha!):

Lower contrast

Slightly flatter blacks

Less “pop” in darker scenes

In other words, the tech that makes art look better can also make movies appear less cinematic.

Regular TVs do the opposite.

They use glossy panels and advanced backlighting (OLED, Mini-LED, etc.) to maximize:

Brightness

Contrast

Color depth

That’s why movies and games look incredible—but also why your screen turns into a mirror during the day. And even if you enable “art mode” on a regular TV, it’s not the same. Without a matte finish, reflections break the illusion immediately. So yeah—an art TV can’t be a cinematic TV. Blame physics.

You’re choosing between a screen that looks better when it’s off vs one that looks better when it’s on.

When an art TV makes more sense for your home

If your living room doubles as a design space, an art TV just makes more sense. This is especially true if your TV is front-and-center—like above a console or fireplace—where it’s impossible to ignore.

Personally, I’d go art TV if:

I care about my space looking cohesive and intentional

I hate the “giant black rectangle” effect

My TV is visible even when I’m not watching it

I watch casually (Netflix, YouTube, background TV—not hardcore cinema nights)

An art TV is a great decision for anyone who focuses on how their home looks aesthetically, not on how immersive sports or Friday movie nights are. An art TV removes the black rectangle from your wall and replaces it with beautiful art.

The trade I’m accepting here:
You prioritize how your home looks all day, not just when you’re watching something.

Best Art TVs for design-focused living rooms

When it’s off, it doesn’t sit there like a black screen—it genuinely looks like framed artwork on the wall. The matte display is a big part of that effect because it cuts reflections so well that paintings and photos actually feel closer to real prints than digital images. I’d choose this if my TV is in a bright, central space where it’s always visible.

Get it for $1497.99$997.99-33.4%

I also like how much of it is driven by software. That makes a noticeable difference when I switch to actual movies or shows—everything feels more dynamic, with better contrast and more depth. For me, this is the middle ground. I still get the aesthetic benefits of an Art TV, but I don’t feel like I’m giving up too much on the viewing experience.

Get it for $2097.99$1497.99-28.6%

If I actually care about what I’m watching—like really care—this is where I’d go traditional. Because performance still wins here, there’s no debate about that.

I’d choose a regular TV if:

I watch movies in the dark and want that cinematic feel

I care about deep blacks and high contrast

I game and want smooth motion + low latency

I want the best value for performance

There’s also just more flexibility. You can get better specs for less money because you’re not paying for the “lifestyle” layer. And let’s be real—if your TV is in a media room or off to the side, the whole “it needs to look like art” thing matters way less.

The trade I’m accepting here:
You’re okay with your TV looking like… a TV.

Best TVs for picture quality, gaming, and value

The OLED panel is doing the heavy lifting here with perfect blacks and individually lit pixels. Dark movie scenes feel way more cinematic than standard LED TVs. Combined with Pantone-validated color, everything just feels more natural and less processed. Where it really wins for me is motion. With a 144Hz refresh rate and AI motion enhancement, fast-paced sports and gaming feel incredibly smooth with almost no blur or lag. The Mini-LED Pro backlighting is insane for contrast control, with thousands of local dimming zones that make stadium lights pop while still keeping shadows deep and detailed. It basically makes fast action feel sharper and more defined, even during chaotic scenes. For gaming, the native high refresh rate with VRR and low latency support means I’m not dealing with lag or screen tearing. I also like that it’s tuned for realism with AI picture optimization. Yep, whether I’m watching football, a blockbuster, or playing a competitive game, it adjusts to keep things looking sharp and immersive.

Get it for $898.00$798.00-11.1%

Fast motion is where it surprises me most—games and live sports stay smooth and readable even during intense scenes. What I like here is how balanced it feels. It supports modern HDR formats like Dolby Vision and delivers strong contrast control through its halo management system. I’d put this in a setup where gaming, streaming, and sports are all equally important, but budget is a consideration.

Get it for $448.00

Art TV vs regular TV: which one should you choose?

Here’s the cleanest way I can put it:

If your TV is part of your home’s design, go with an art TV.
If your TV is about performance and viewing experience, go with a regular TV.

More specifically:

If you care about home design, minimalism, and a clutter-free space → art TV (like the Amazon Ember Artline)

If you prioritize picture quality, gaming, or cinematic viewing → Regular TV

That’s really it.

If your TV sits front and center in your living room and you’ve put effort into making your home feel cozy, styled, or intentional, something like The Frame just makes more sense. It blends in, it adds to the vibe, and you won’t feel like you’re decorating around a screen.

But if your priority is movie nights, gaming, or just getting the best picture for your money, a regular TV is still the better move—and you’ll probably notice that upgrade way more.

Talk about Microsoft Gaming, and I picture Solitaire Collection, Sudoku, and those default PC games—not Xbox. Even though Xbox sat under that label since 2022, reports point to a shift back to the Xbox name under new leadership in 2026. That shift brings a clear signal: Xbox returns to the center of Microsoft’s gaming identity. When the first Xbox hit in 2001, the goal was to keep distance between brands. Back then, people didn’t link Microsoft with gaming at all.

A fresh start puts xbox front and center

Several reports say Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, who took the role in February, plans to bring back the Xbox name for the gaming division and drop Microsoft Gaming. She said Xbox should serve as the identity, which signals a move away from the prior label.

Xbox once led the console space, but a run of poor calls hurt its market share. The brand lost ground as it failed to match rivals like Nintendo and Sony in exclusive titles. Think The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild or God of War. Xbox even stopped sharing console shipment numbers in 2015 as the gap grew.

Sharma made her first big move with Xbox Game Pass. Last week, Microsoft cut the price to $23 per month from $30. I don’t see that as a cut. It feels more like a rollback after two years of hikes.

That shift comes with a trade-off. New Call of Duty titles will not land on the service at launch. From now on, they will join about a year after release. It’s one game out of a huge catalog. Players still get older COD titles, just not the newest one. For some, that loss hits hard since it may rank as a favorite (mine too). Still, most people get better value with a lower price in exchange for one missing release.

The first step in a much larger comeback

Take a step back. Sharma’s push to bring back the Xbox name ties into her promise of a “return of Xbox.” That move aims to put fans first and fix past mistakes. I see this as the right mindset. Xbox sits under Microsoft, but the brand needs space from its parent. That makes this a key move for a CEO. The loss of identity around Xbox stands out, and this change offers one of the fastest ways to rebuild it.

8BitDo Charging Dock for Xbox Wireless Controllers

Get it for $34.99

Picture Sony telling PlayStation to drop its name and go with Sony Games and Sony Network. That idea sounds wild. So Microsoft thinking it could drop Xbox feels just as strange. A leadership change opens space for big moves. Sharma doesn’t face years of past decisions or internal pushback. That gives me optimism for Xbox’s future.

Where AI meets overload

We’ve officially entered the era where you don’t search—you ask.

You open tools like ChatGPT, type “best budget headphones” or “should I invest in crypto right now?”, and expect a clean answer back. No tabs. No rabbit holes. Just clarity.

That’s the promise of AI-driven discovery.

But here’s the part people don’t talk about enough:

Even AI needs a reference point.

Because when everything is available instantly, the real challenge isn’t access—it’s orientation.

And in crypto, that orientation still starts in one place:

Bitcoin.

AI can surface options—but it still needs a baseline

AI is incredible at compressing chaos.

It can:

Compare 20 products in seconds

Summarize trends across thousands of data points

Personalize recommendations based on how you think

But under the hood, it still relies on anchors.

In product discovery, that might be:

“Best in category”

“Most reviewed”

“Top-rated for your use case”

In crypto, that anchor hasn’t changed.

Bitcoin is still the baseline that defines:

Market direction

Risk appetite

Overall sentiment

Not because AI prefers it—but because the data keeps pointing back to it.

Bitcoin is where most people actually start

Before Bitcoin becomes a signal, it’s something much simpler:

It’s the first step.

Bitcoin remains the largest crypto asset by market value—and that scale shapes behavior. For most people entering crypto, it’s not about comparing 50 tokens. It’s about figuring out one thing:

How to buy BTC?

That’s why first-time users end up exploring:

Wallets

Exchanges

Payment methods

They compare platforms like Changelly and others to see how to purchase BTC using:

Bank transfers

Debit or credit cards

Apple Pay or Google Pay

Even recurring buy setups

And as users get more comfortable, that exploration naturally expands—questions like how to buy bnb start showing up alongside BTC queries, signaling the shift from entry to exploration.

It’s a practical entry point. And it matters—because for most users, Bitcoin isn’t just part of crypto.

It’s their introduction to it.

Bitcoin is less like an asset—and more like a signal layer

Think of it this way.

AI doesn’t just answer questions—it interprets context.

And Bitcoin is one of the clearest context signals in crypto.

When it moves, it tells you something about:

Where capital is flowing

How confident investors are

Whether the market is leaning risk-on or risk-off

That’s why even when you ask AI about altcoins, the answer quietly references Bitcoin’s position.

Because without that layer, the rest of the market loses shape.

The illusion of infinite choice

AI gives you the feeling that everything is equally accessible.

And technically, it is.

But psychologically? Not even close.

People still need:

A starting point

A frame of reference

Something that reduces decision fatigue

That’s exactly what Bitcoin does.

It’s not the most advanced.
It’s not the most exciting.

But it’s the one thing that makes everything else easier to compare.

Just like in product discovery, where one standout device helps you evaluate the rest—Bitcoin plays that same role in crypto.

Institutional behavior reinforces the pattern

Here’s where the system doubles down on itself.

When large-scale investors entered crypto, they didn’t diversify across dozens of tokens.

They chose the most legible entry point.

Bitcoin.

The approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs opened the floodgates for traditional capital, bringing in tens of billions through regulated channels .

And that matters—because AI models, market narratives, and user behavior all start aligning around where the biggest signals are.

It becomes a feedback loop:

Institutions choose Bitcoin

Data strengthens around Bitcoin

AI reflects that data

Users see Bitcoin as the default

Altcoins thrive on exploration. Bitcoin survives on clarity.

AI is fantastic at helping you explore.

That’s where altcoins shine:

New ideas

Niche use cases

Faster growth cycles

But exploration only works when you have a reference point to come back to.

Bitcoin is that return point.

It doesn’t need to be the fastest.
It just needs to remain understandable.

And in a space that constantly reinvents itself, that’s a bigger advantage than it sounds.

So what changes in an AI-first world?

Not what you’d expect.

AI doesn’t replace benchmarks.
It actually makes them more important.

Because when decisions get faster, the need for reliable anchors increases.

In product discovery, that’s where platforms like Gadget Flow come in—cutting through noise with taste and context.

In crypto, that role is still played—quietly, consistently—by Bitcoin.

Closing thought (keep it sharp, your style):

AI might be rewriting how we discover things.

But it hasn’t changed how we understand them.

And until something offers a clearer signal,
Bitcoin isn’t just part of the conversation.

It’s still the thing everything else is measured against.

Extreme Magnification: The lens delivers up to 24x magnification with a focal range from 300mm to 600mm, so you can reach distant subjects with clarity and no distortion across the full image.

Full 48MP Resolution: Shoot at 300mm while keeping the full 48MP sensor output, giving you far more detail than the native telephoto can produce on its own.

Premium Build Materials: Lanthanum optical glass and aerospace-grade aluminum keep the lens sharp, durable, and compact enough to carry every day.

ReeMag Filter System: The magnetic filter mount lets you attach and stack ND, VND, and CPL filters in seconds, so you can adapt to any lighting condition quickly.

Broad Smartphone Compatibility: Optimized for iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, it also fits iPhone 13-16 Pro models and Samsung S23-S26 Ultra via a standard 17mm thread mount.

The Reeflex Ultra Telephoto is a practical upgrade for mobile photographers who want serious reach without the weight.

Ear-Based Sensing Advantage: The ear sits close to major blood vessels, so Lumia 2 captures a stronger, less motion-affected signal than wrist trackers. This means more accurate heart rate, body temperature, and blood flow readings throughout the day and night.

20+ Health Metrics: Lumia 2 tracks sleep stages, readiness, cycle patterns, HRV, activity, stress, and blood flow insights, giving you a fuller picture of your health than most standard fitness bands.

Under 1 Gram, Jewelry-Grade Design: The sensor sits behind the ear and weighs less than a coffee bean. Choose from huggie hoops, studs, or cuffs in gold, silver, and titanium finishes, or attach to existing push-back earrings via SwitchBack technology.

7-Day Swappable Battery: Instead of overnight charging, Lumia 2 uses two interchangeable batteries. Swap in a fresh one weekly so tracking never pauses, especially during sleep.

Research-Backed Platform: Developed with researchers at Johns Hopkins, Duke, and Harvard, Lumia 2 builds on six years of engineering and real-world testing by a Boston-based team with backgrounds at Bose, Peloton, and Philips.

Lumia 2 is a practical, low-profile health tracker worth considering for anyone who wants data without a wristband.

Huawei is a rare Chinese firm that found a way to grow during the first quarter of 2026. With the MateBook 14 HarmonyOS Edition hitting shelves, the brand might grab a lot more eyes. People blame Huawei for copying Apple without clear reason. Take the P9 phone, which used the same weird star screws in the exact same spots as iPhones. But my Huawei MateBook 14 HarmonyOS Edition first impressions show an artist shaping widely loved concepts into something fresh.

Lightweight build, loud personality—until the keyboard ruins the mood

A quick look at Huawei’s MateBook 14 HarmonyOS Edition brings the MacBook Neo to mind. It keeps a thin profile and compact body with color options like Wild Green, Cherry Blossom Pink Gold, and Space Gray. When Apple launched the MacBook Neo, I expected strong appeal among students. It works as a fashion piece for many users. Huawei aims at the same group.

The MateBook 14 weighs about 1.33 kg. You can hold it with one hand. It fits into a backpack and moves between campus and café life with ease.

But the keys; I hate them. Round keycaps look awful for work since I want zero parts of a keyboard that mimics a vintage typewriter. Still, taste stays a personal thing, and if you find it cool, your opinion wins. Huawei claims the curved caps hug each finger while big arrow keys help your precision. It feels good, the brand says.

Design wins attention, performance must prove it

The 24 GB + 512 GB version of the MateBook 14 HarmonyOS Edition starts at CNY 6,599 (≈ $959). At that point, the design appeal meets a clear question about power. Users who need strong workload support may look toward MacBook Air instead.

Related: M5 MacBook Air vs. M4 MacBook Air: I know the upgrade isn’t essential—but it tempts me

After 2020 restrictions, US limited Huawei access to global chip design and manufacturing partners. Huawei shifted toward in-house work through HiSilicon chips. This raises a key question: can the MateBook 14 HarmonyOS Edition’s Kirin X90 act as Huawei answer to Apple Silicon?

The Huawei MateBook Fold introduced the Kirin X90 in May 2025 as an 18-inch foldable OLED device with HarmonyOS. We still need see how the Kirin X90 handles tasks in the MateBook 14. For now, the MacBook Air with M5 chip still leads in efficiency, raw output, and creative app support.

120 Hz OLED on a budget? Huawei plays its strongest card

The Huawei MateBook 14 offers a sleek 120 Hz OLED touch screen. It feels more like a fancy tablet. Apple keeps 120 Hz tech for Pro gear. I love that Huawei gives us fast response times and less eye strain without a massive price hike.

For notes, sketches, and everything between

The Huawei MateBook 14 HarmonyOS Edition supports the M-Pencil Package (3rd generation). I’ve read that buyers place the M-Pencil next to the Apple Pencil in comparison. Some even bought the MatePad 11.5 tablet for the pen alone. It senses pressure, blocks palm touch, and keeps input delay low. Get the M-Pencil for €89.95 for notes in meetings and classes.

Not a copy—a competitor with intent

I see the MateBook 14 HarmonyOS Edition not as a mere copycat, but as a bold competitor that bridges the gap between high-end aesthetics and functional hardware. While the Kirin X90 still has to prove it can dance with Apple’s M-series chips, I’m impressed by Huawei’s willingness to offer premium features like a 120 Hz OLED touch screen at a much more accessible price point.

You should consider whether you value the seamless, fashion-forward portability of the MateBook 14 HarmonyOS Edition enough to trade away the established creative ecosystem of a MacBook. If you’re looking for a device that feels like a “Pro” tablet but works like a laptop, this might just be the versatile tool you’ve been waiting for. Do you think the inclusion of a high-refresh touchscreen is enough to make you switch from a traditional macOS or Windows setup?

I didn’t expect much from this DJI Lito Series review. But my meh feeling turned into curiosity when I saw how oddly in-between this consumer drone lineup is. The Lito 1 and X1 are not ultra-budget—yet they’re not anywhere near DJI’s more advanced or enterprise-level systems either.

According to DJI’s official store listings, the Lito 1 comes in at around $397 in Europe, while the Lito X1 lands closer to $490. That alone immediately tells me this isn’t cheap drone toy territory — but it’s also not enthusiast-level pricing.

Instead, it lands in an awkward-but-interesting middle zone. And that’s where the story is.

What is the DJI Lito series?

The Lito series is DJI’s newest entry-level consumer drone lineup, built for beginners who still want solid aerial imaging without entering DJI’s more expensive Air ecosystem.

Both drones come in under 249 grams, which is important because it helps them avoid registration requirements in many regions — a detail DJI clearly isn’t ignoring when positioning this line.

What stands out to me most is that this isn’t a rebrand or continuation of an older series. The Lito name is brand new, suggesting DJI is carving out a fresh starter tier instead of just updating existing models.

A middle-tier drone strategy (and why it actually works)

So, DJI’s being pretty intentional here. The Lito 1 and Lito X1 don’t compete with DJI’s higher-end consumer drones. Instead, they sit in a very specific gap:

Above ultra-basic beginner drones

Below the Mini series

Far below pro or enterprise systems

That middle space is usually where users either get frustrated or give up entirely — and DJI seems to be trying to smooth that out.

Both Lito drones also ship with the RC-N3 controller, which uses a smartphone as the display instead of a built-in screen controller. That choice alone keeps costs down and simplifies the learning curve, even if it feels a bit less premium.

DJI

Lito 1 vs Lito X1: where the real difference shows up

On the surface, the two models look similar. But DJI clearly split them by capability.

The Lito 1 is the simpler entry point — focused on stable flight, easy controls, and basic 4K capture for beginners who just want something that works well, without stress.

The Lito X1 is where things get more interesting. It reportedly upgrades sensing and imaging performance, including improved obstacle detection and a forward-facing LiDAR system for more precise environmental awareness. That’s a notable feature at this price tier, especially for beginner-focused drones.

It also expands controller compatibility in bundled versions, including higher-end DJI controllers like the RC 2 depending on configuration. I’m thinking it’s best for Gen-Z graduates or young professionals.

Not the flashiest DJI launch — but maybe the most strategic

I’ll be honest, the Lito series isn’t exciting in a traditional sense. There’s no dramatic leap in design language or headline-grabbing innovation.

But, of course, that’s not what DJI is going for. This feels more like DJI quietly building a structured entry pipeline into drones. Instead of throwing beginners straight into either very limited or relatively advanced systems, they now have a defined middle step.

It’s a middle step might actually matter more than it seems. Because most users don’t start with “pro intent.” They start with curiosity — and either level up or drop off depending on how that first experience goes.

Final thoughts

In this DJI Lito Series review, the positioning is what stands out more than anything. The Lito 1 and Lito X1 aren’t disruptive or flashy. They’re not super cheap. What they are trying to do is make DJI drones more accessible in a structured, strategic way.

And while that might not sound exciting on paper, it actually feels like one of the more interesting drone moves DJI has made recently — even if it’s subtle.
