Our mission is to open the marketing and advertising profession to all voices and perspectives.
The advertising and marketing profession continues to be stronger and teams perform better when they more accurately represent the populations they serve.
That's where The BrandLab steps in.
Our four pillars drive our vision of creating sustainable careers in inclusive workplaces for everyone. Here’s how each pillar ties in with our programs:
Make every voice in the profession feel valued and heard.
Show students how marketing and advertising shapes their world and why their voice matters.
Paid internship for college students within the marketing and advertising profession.
Continued support to enter, grow, and thrive in the profession.
"I did super well in my Advertising and Marketing courses. The material genuinely interested me, and I was ecstatic to break into the agency world, especially as a person of color where I saw an opportunity to bring new perspectives."
– Tess Montgomery, TBL Alumni

After 20 years of working in education and the nonprofit sector I launched Cufflink, my consulting practice. A large part of my professional life was spent growing The BrandLab from a start up to a multi market organization serving over 1000 students annually. Starting in 2009 as their first program director I spent the next 12 years growing the organization. From designing holistic programs focused on impact, to hiring the team, managing the board, and developing a social venture 100% focused on the mission, I have been able to wear just about every hat in a growing non profit.
Prior to working for The BrandLab I worked in schools locally and internationally where I held various leadership roles inside and outside the classroom. I get the most energy from helping organizations deliver against their vision. My passion lies in seeing people come together to move closer to the vision they imagine for the world.
