This March, we’re thrilled to present a staged reading of 1989, in partnership with SunCity Productions. The story holds special meaning for our community, as it references the origins and founding of Theatrix itself.
Looking ahead to spring, our production of MYTHS AND MIRRORS will be the first of our plays to take on a new form as it’s adapted into a radio play. Thanks to additional support from Heritage Canada’s MARP grant, this project will be made accessible to the blind community with the help of our partners at Vocal Eye and the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB). We’re proud to continue expanding access to our work in thoughtful and inclusive ways.
We’re also grateful to have received new grants from Rotary, the Port Coquitlam Foundation, and Spirit of Coquitlam, which will allow us to adapt several of our previous original scripts into radio plays. Audition announcements for voice actors will be coming soon, and in September, one of these productions will be celebrated with a special digital launch party in partnership with CNIB and Vocal Eye.
This April marks the launch of our brand-new Musical Theatre Academy, offered in partnership with Evergreen Cultural Centre. Registration is now open, and we encourage interested participants to visit our website and register directly through the program-specific links to secure a spot.
Finally, save the date for October! We’ll be hosting an anniversary reunion party for everyone who has been part of Theatrix over the years—performers, volunteers, parents, and more. With a Rocky Horror theme, it promises to be a fun, nostalgic, and unforgettable night celebrating our shared history.
