As you are probably all well aware, not all the canons represented at squarewarts provide all (or any) of their characters with family names. This is fine and dandy, however! There are also some characters here who need to be able to refer to other characters in an extremely formal or polite way in order to reflect certain elements of their characterisation. For example, neither Professors Kuchiki nor Jones would refer to a student so casually as to use a given name.

With such in mind, and out of consideration to your fellow players, the mods and your moogle would like to make a request of you all, kupo.

If you have a character that canonically does NOT have a family/last name, please reply to this post.

You DO need to provide their name in Western style, i.e FIRSTNAME LASTNAME.
For example: Galatea Godeye, Karin Carmody, Yuna Lesque.

These names will become game canon (used for tags in the log comm and for our wiki tables, as well as being what other characters call your character by), so unless you have a good reason you can't just change it at the drop of a hat.

Please reply to this ASAP with current characters, or when you app them! IF YOU DO NOT REPLY OPHELIA WILL PICK A NAME FOR YOU AND WRITE IT IN YOUR BLOOD.

...Or I will throw nuts.

I know, I know - organisation, in a crack comm? Madness! However, kupo, there is a method to the madness. Here are a few guidelines for the comm. This entry may be updated in future, so check back!

General

As with everywhere else in squarewarts, the crack comm is a place for us to have fun, enjoy each others company and share our idiocy wacky ideas. Being the crack comm, almost anything can happen here! It is not game canon. However, we do ask that you remember that even if we are joking around, to treat your fellow players and moderators with respect. If you have any concerns, questions or suggestions for the crack comm, please direct them to the mods at squarewarts@gmail.com.

Getting Started

First of all, when posting in the Crack Community (which is squarewartcrack, if you do not have it friended yet) please use one of the following tags. This way if anyone goes looking for that cracky gem you posted, they'll be able to find it! They are all pretty self explanatory.

Concerning Crack Memes

From this point on, all crack memes are to be posted by the moogle journal (this journal, kupo!) only. Memes do not require mod approval, however you will need to submit meme ideas to the moogle for posting. We're just doing this for the sake of making sure memes don't get repetitive and as some sort of quality control, and so that we don't end up with 87766578989 memes all at once.

Feel free to either e-mail the helper moogle with meme ideas, or post them here.

WELCOME MOOGLES

HOGWARTS WANTS YOU

So basically, kupo, a fair while ago, there was talk of creating a sort of welcoming committee for greeting new players to squarewarts, and following all the recent revisions our mods have made, the idea has been revisited. Although there is the original post floating about somewhere on the comms I ~~couldn't~~ haven't gotten around to finding it yet, and it is at least a few months old. If you had any comments or interest about the idea that you mentioned then which you still feel are relevant, please feel free to bring them up here! ~~Eventually I will find that freaking post, kupo.~~

HOW DOES A WELCOME MOOGLE 'MOOGLE'?

When coming into a new game (or even beginning LJ RP), it can be a bit overwhelming, especially among a group of established players. The role of the Welcome Moogle is to make our new players feel at home, and give them a contact they can rely on when they first start off. Here is the basic play by play of what a Welcome Moogle might be expected to do:

☛ Establish contact with the new player to whom you have been assigned and get to know them
☛ Answer any questions they have about the game, or help them feel less (potentially) daunted about approaching a mod with any questions they have that you can't answer!
☛ Thread and/or log with them to help get them rolling with establishing CR

In short, help them feel comfortable in the game and ease them into the Squarewarts community. If this sounds like something you would like to and have the time to do, please proceed to the next step!

(Please note – anyone can sign up to be a Welcome Moogle, although there is some degree of commitment involved. We don't want anyone getting neglected by their moogle, kupo! That's just mean.)

As new players reply positively to the new section in the app asking if they would like a Welcome Moogle, we will work through the list of Moogles to accommodate them, and cycle back through as necessary. If you are selected as the next Moogle during a hiatus or hectic time for you, you MUST contact the mods and let them know so that another Moogle can be sent in.
