TextSpresso is an easy to use, professional level text filtering application. TextSpresso includes 200 filters and can handle a wide range of tasks, including:
- Cleaning up E-mails, Web pages, MIME text documents, and other text retrieved from the Internet.
- Preparing text for the Internet to insure that it is readable regardless of transport method or end destination. TextSpresso can prepare Mac text, which may contain Internet incompatible special characters and formatting, for E-mail, Usenet, and message boards.
- Converting cross platform text files between Mac and PC with special character preservation.
- Preparing text documents for publishing in HTML on the World Wide Web.
- Preparing documents for print publishing. TextSpresso can reformat text so that it looks good in print and obeys many of the common spacing and character rules of graphic design, saving publishers a great deal of time and money.
- Whatever you need. TextSpresso lets users create new filters using 7 different core filter types including pattern matching and MultiFilter.

Jetzt, wenn der Dialog "Anfang/Ende des Dokuments...Suche fortsetzen" angezeigt wird und der Benutzer auf OK klickt, wird die Suche durch das gesamte Dokument fortgesetzt. Zuvor wurde nur zur vorherigen Cursorposition zurückgewickelt. Wenn der Cursor in der Mitte eines Treffers war, wurde dieser Treffer nie gefunden.
- [Fix] Der Cursor blinkt jetzt konsistenter und stabiler, insbesondere beim Löschen von Zeichen/Auswahlen.

$29.95 is not free. Even $20, which is what it is priced at on the developer's site is not free. This ought to be corrected.

How does TextSpresso compare to TextSoap? I'm trying to decide between the two, unless… do the two complement one another? I'm sure that there are *some* overlapping features between them, but, are the two apps built to serve different functions?

I have missed this product for a few years now, since I was not only an early adopter of OS X, but also left Classic more than 2 years ago. We don't use Classic on any of our 6 Macs, and have an older Mac around that can run OS 8 just in case we need to access some old data or disk. So I haven't had TextSpresso on my systems for at least 2 years, probably 3, and in our publishing workflows it's sorely missed. SmartWrap is helpful in some cases, but we needed the robustness and customizing capabilities of TextSpresso.
Anyone who has to repurpose text from one format to another really needs this. One feature that I'd like to see in a future version would be to be able to open PDF files, like Preview does, and then convert them to other formats such as RTF or HTML or plain text.

I am glad to see that the new version [3.0b1] of TextSpresso runs very well under OS X Tiger 10.4.5.
I had to stop using my TextSpresso 2 version under OS X when I moved to Jaguar 10.2.5
But, don't tell anyone :-), I liked it so much that I was still running TextSpresso under the classic mode.
By the way, it was the only application to deserve that in my PowerMac.

I keep downloading defective files. Stuffit Expander goes into a spin and can't unstuff the .sit file.
