TextAloud

TextAloud uses the text-to-speech system to convert any text into high quality speech. The program allows you to import any text or documents and work with multiple articles to read them aloud or to convert them into audio files.

You can select among different voices to produce the output speech. You can also increment or decrement the speed and pitch of the voice and also generate pauses at the end of a sentence or paragraph. You can select among different audio formats and sample rates to write the audio files.

The program includes buttons to move forward or backward within an article or among articles. The articles are displayed in a separated tab but also can be displayed in a dropdown list. You can change the font, size, and color of the articles. The program allows shell integration with Windows Explorer and allows you to install a tool bar on different programs to interact with them, e.g. Internet Explorer, Outlook, Firefox, and Microsoft Word. Additionally, you can use different skins to change the program's appearance.
