We want to provide a diverse dance for everyone to enjoy so we are looking for everything from electronic to rock and anything in between, and of course don't forget the fursuit dances too!

Are the dances all just going to be techno?
- We want to give you what you want, and we can't do that unless we have a diverse lineup to choose from, so please send in the demos for whatever you are interested in playing.

Do I need to make a demo?
- For the non fursuit dances, yes a demo is required. Please make it at least 30 minutes, but no longer than an hour.

The demo can be uploaded to soundcloud, if you need a server to host your mix.

Auditions will close at the end of September, and invites will go out shortly after that, depending on how many last minute mixes come in. Invites will go out in Early October. I look forward to hearing what everyone out there can bring to the table!

Tekfox

Looking at new hardware

I guess its that time again, where I start to look at new hardware. With SandyBridge out I can severely cut down the expenses of owning a desktop since I don't technically need a graphics card (at least not right away) to do my daily functions. I'm currently running a P4 setup, so I am seriously behind the times in terms of hardware. My laptop on the otherhand is beefy, and I use that 90% of the time so I'm not really sure if I even need a desktop, which is also something to think about.

So where does this leave me if I were to build one?

Case: Lilan-li (reusing my old one, also I hate glowing/windows and fans)
If anyone has any other non flashy cases they like, let me know.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112154

Processor: Core i7-2600k. Since I don't plan to ever SLI, I don't think there is a reason to go for the higher end one. Soundcards are all external (firewire or USB)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007627%20600093976&IsNodeId=1&page=2&bop=And&CompareItemList=280|13-121-474^13-121-474-TS,13-121-486^13-121-486-TS

Ram: 8 Gig G.Skill 1333 DDR3 Ram.
A brand I've not heard of, but it is highly rated and they seem to have good customer support.
MFF Musics

    <lj:music>Tek-Fox - Live at MFF 2010</lj:music>

I've been playing Dnb for just about as long as I can remember. I remember when I finally made the transition over from playing Hard House and trance into more beat oriented music, that must have been in about 2004. When I moved to Colorado in 2003 I was checking out the local record stores and I saw that Hive was playing in Denver. I had Hive's CD's but I didn't know what DnB was at that point. I looked up what he had been doing recently and found myself amidst a new genre of music. I fell in love with the label renegade hardware, and I'd been playing DnB ever since. That was until I found dubstep.

The same thing happened again, but this time with the label Rottun Recordings. I heard their first albums, back when you had to buy their tracks directly from their website as they didn't have a distributor yet. I was enamored with the diversity of this genre and the innovation in sounds that it was able to produce. I was always wary to play it on a larger scale though. My stuff usually clocks in around 180bpm, and to crank that down to 70 is quite a jump, and I wasn't sure how that would go. I stuck to playing it at room parties, and in the past year have been adding little bits and pieces of it to my sets to just to kind of "plant the seed" and give people a little intro to what this music is all about.

At MFF this year I decided it was time to take the plunge and play a set that is comprised of the music that I love, Dubstep and glitch hop. Going into the con I was a ball of nerves wound up about as tight as could be. I was worried I was going to just completely kill the vibe at the dance, and screw it up for anyone playing after me. I thought of Drac hopping on the decks at midnight to an empty floor and it just staying that way. I had no idea what to expect, other than Dire and a bunch of my friends were going to be there to support me, which helped a lot more than they will ever know.

I was so goddamn wrong that it isn't even funny. Not only did it not kill things but it was extremely well received. The set went off almost flawless, except for some tracks which "vanished" (The downlink one was just missing from my ableton set). Most of it remains a blur in my memory but things started off well and the intensity stepped up with every track. Vinny got up on the mic and really helped get the crowd into things, shirts came off, dinosaur dances were invented, and Recca rocked out on stage in suit for the whole time. At the end I was drenched in sweat and elated that I was able to share music that is so important to me with everyone else, and that they loved it.

I can't wait for FC now.

Tek-Fox - Live at MFF 2010

Innerparty System - Die Tonight Live Forever
Excision - Subsonic (Elite Force Remix)
Babylon System - Our Moment
MIA - Steppin Up (Ant-en-nea Remix)
Bassnectar, Jantsen - Blast Off
Subvert - Speaker Humpin (Mark Instinct Remix)
Downlink - Emergency
RSK - Castlemania
Flux Pavilion - Hold Me Close
Bare - Bring it Back
Far East Movement - G6 (Mochipet Remix)
An-ten-nae - So High
Jantsen - Banging Like Me
Knight Riderz - Turn it Up
Spor - 8 Bit Bitch (Jantsen Mashhur)
Apox - Stay Triumphant
Mat the Alien - Lazer Bass
Opiuo - Patchouli Dump Truck
Bassnectar - Cheb I Sabbah
Jantsen - Sideshow RemiXXXX
Opiuo - Computer Music
Mind Vortex - Onslaught
Apex - Gonzo
Mindscape - Bounce
Camo, Krooked - Can't Get Enough
Ajapai - Incoming (Taku Remix)
Ludachrist - Legend of Curtis
Loadstar - Link to the Past
Dot-Sk - Just

I hope everyone enjoys this as much as I did playing it

Yesterday was a perfect day, one of those days where everything just comes together in exactly the way you want it to.

As with pretty much every day it started off with work, which was very very productive. I was able to present on my designs that I'm working on and so far everything is being well received. There is more to be closed on but it looks like everything is trending in the right way, which is nice for a change. I'm not being overworked, schedule isn't bashing my head against the wall and the people I work with have been nothing short of awesome.

After work it was off to crossfit with Xanie, and it was awesome to go with him again. He is great to work out with cause he pushes himself so goddamn hard and the effort he puts out is almost infectious. Both of us managed to PR our front squats at 185 and 175 respectively. I feel that I could have gone with 195 as I was so close to getting up but I felt my form held me back. I felt my core breaking down and I didn't want to risk tweaking my back for the sake of getting it up. Next time. I rocked the workout, prescribed, even though my snatch form was awful at the weight I was doing. It's hard to really get your form dialed in when you are doing reps for time. I'm gonna have to start practicing it more often.

Then, soon after arriving home I was pounced by a wuff. The sudden switch of being a badass and lifting weights over my head to having my muzzle pushed down into the floor and squealing to the point that made Xanie have to turn the TV up to drown me out was absolute bliss. Dire had drawn me a bath, complete with salts and scents but sadly I couldn't spend too long in there. It was very relaxing especially post workout. The wags from that "encounter" continue into today.

To wrap things up we went over to see Trigg and Gary, who had so graciously made chili for everyone. Gary is such a good cook that I always enjoy anything he can come up with. The company and conversations that we had were the best way to end the evening.

Now today is a new day, and I'm full of wags just counting down the days until the 31st.

I shouldn't neglect the LJ as much as I do, but with as busy as we have been around here it gets tough to actually find the time to sit down and get something written properly.

So what has been going on in my life as of recently? My training has been going well, to the point where I almost feel overconfident about what I'm setting out to achieve. This Saturday my marathon schedule had me set for my first 20 mile run, which is a bit of a milestone in the schedule, and is a little daunting when you sit down and think about it. Needless to say, I rocked it hardcore. My total time for 20 miles 2:37:53. I am so happy with that training pace that I am having to tell myself to back down and make sure I'm not pushing myself too hard as the last thing I want to do is to injure myself from over training. Now, I'm going to scale it back and work up to another 20 mile run at the end of the month. I should get 2 in before the big race.

What I really find interesting is that I am taking a completely abnormal approach to marathon running and it seems to work. Normally you would run a lot, for instance on a training schedule online they would have had me run 45 miles last week. I am doing mostly sprint and interval work during the week, with one 6 mile run the day before and then my long run on Saturdays. I get in about 30 miles a week, with most of it being hill work, or running with a 25 pound vest on. Then I crossfit 4 days a week at least as well. I don't know if I'm doing it "right" but I know that each week I've run further and faster, so I think that speaks for itself.

Oh, speaking of crossfit I got my first muscle up. I feel so badass today.

We finally got our couch, and now it feels like we have a completely different place. I would say it was money well spent. The living room is almost done, as we are getting Dire's painting framed and we got some nifty shelves to hang too. Now my focus is getting the rest of the house up to the same level of awesomeness. It will take a few years but I think it is in the realm of possibility. Next on the long list is lighting as it is severely lacking at the moment. Currently we are refinancing the house as that will help with the lower payments, and the thought of having everything paid off early is quite appealing.

The wuff is a stressed out due to work really putting the screws to him, but he is fighting though it and really stepping up his game. I'm proud of him, as it speaks to his character and I know he can rock it proper.

The new project is nice, and I'm really happy with where things are going for that. I've actually got a good list of responsibilities and deliverables and I don't feel like I am going to be killing myself to get them done. That and the team is 1000x better, so I'm glad to have moved onto this.

Now I am just counting down the days to when I get to see glitch mob, prefuse 73 and beats antique. It is going to be amazing.

I'm waiting for my boss to come by for a status update, where I get to tell her that we are pretty much in the same boat as we were last week. Lovely. I'm not really looking forward to that. Hopefully this week will be more productive than the last.

I'm getting deeper into my training, and so far its been good. I started to have a weird ankle pain last week, so its been on ice and anti-inflammatory meds when possible. After doing some reading I believe it is due to excessive pronation with my barefoot running. Up until now it hasn't been an issue, but just due to the way my foot lands it rolls more outside in than normal. I did my 11 mile run the other day in shoes, still keeping with the midfoot strike and I came back with 0 ankle pain. So I am now looking into a midfoot striking shoe that will help with my pronation and not want to force me into the heel strike that a regular one does. Thankfully, there is a shoe that does that *wags*. I've got a pair of newtons on order and they should be coming in around thursday of this week.

I was very happy with the split time for my 11 miles, 8:02. My target for the whole 26 is 8:00, so I'm not too far off. My body seems to have adapted to the new fueling system, as I don't seem to feel as lethargic on my long runs anymore.

We finished up our 6 week strength training focus session at the crossfit box. I ended up posting up these numbers. #125 press, #255 Back squat, #275 deadlift. I'm pretty happy with the results I've seen so far, now onward and upward!

The other highlight of the weekend was going to see Scott P vs the World with the wuff. Goddamn that was good. I would see that again in a heartbeat *nudges xanie*. Keeping with the movie topic we also saw the rifftrax of reefer madness, which was just fucking hilarious. The shorts they did were awesome, and the movie was even better. If you haven't seen any of the rifftrax, I suggest you check it out. Otherwise my time was spent playing dominion, cleaning and spending time outside in the hot august sun. All in all, it was a good weekend, much relaxing to be had while still keeping productive.

*wags*

Friday night we loaded up the car with the crew and headed down to sub.mission, the local Denver dubstep night. It turned out to be less a night of music and more a night of reflection for me, and my current state with music.

Sub dot was started just before I quietly left the scene. When Recon, the local dnb crew, was starting to dwindle and dubstep was just starting to come onto the scene a few of the locals started their own spin off night dedicated to just dub. This was way back, when dub was pretty obscure and hadn't evolved into the beast that it is today. The early sub dot nights were mostly just the dub lovers from the unnet, so it was small and everyone knew the people that attended the events. Since then it has evolved into quite the night, with good attendance, good locations and the same good people that it started with.

We arrive there on Friday night entering the club to the DJ playing party alarm, which I'm impressed with. It's not an easy track to mix with, as subvert isn't a DJ friendly producer. The rest of his set I found mostly boring, with tracks that went on for a little long and weren't terribly interesting. After him Jantsen got up there. He's producing with bassnectar and playing a lot of the glitch festivals, so I had high expectations. I was pretty unimpressed with him as well. The tracks he played were good, but it was just slammer after slammer, so the crowd was into it when the heavy beats were dropped but there was little variation in anything and even less cohesion. After that was numbernin9, which I felt wasn't that great either. His tracks were good, his mixing was much better, but he carried the crowd less than Jansten, and just let things fall off. Given his epic trance tracks, I would have expected really big builds, but I got the opposite of that. Instead I was left with some tracks that were good but mixed in a way that didn't really get me moving all that much.

Through the entire show I kept thinking to myself, I can do better than this, I can do better than this. I've dedicated so many years, to my craft that I know what I can do, and I know a good performance when I hear one. So then why am I not up there instead? What the hell am I doing down on the floor. So I need to get the sub dot crew a demo and get myself back on stage, because there is no reason I shouldn't be doing this again, with the music I love.

The weekend of movies!

Dire and I saw a lot of movies this weekend, I think it totaled out at 4 if you include despicable me, which we saw a little earlier in the week.

Inception: Amazing, amazing, amazing. Plot was very original, acting was great, everything was weaved together well to create a real experience. Go see this now.

Despicable me: Really funny and cute. I enjoyed it the whole way though, and you get dreamworks face, so who doesn't love that.

Boiler Room: An old movie about "wall street" that was done back in 2000. I thought this was very well done, and an interesting insight into sales. I liked this movie for the dialog, and character interactions.

Collateral: Jamie Foxx stole the show on this older move, which I had yet to see. This movie felt like a spin off of training day, similar situations and plot points, but in different scenarios. Overall, a good flick as well.

We made a trip down to Denver and spent the day down there with Lone, Brad, Fen and Minty. We browsed around the mall checking out sale and whatnot. I got myself a new belt, because I don't have a nice one and needed to get one. Dire got a shirt and a pair of pants which I hopes he likes. After the mall we went to Bistro One and enjoyed the tasty entries there.

All in all it was a good relaxing weekend. *wags*

    <lj:music>Distance - Menace</lj:music>

It's a slow day here at work, so I figured I would hop on the old LJ and write something down. How inspiring.

Given how things have been recently, I'm happy to say that my stress levels have been going down quite rapidly. All my work deadlines have come and gone, now its just kind of cleanup and starting to get ramped up on the next project. Work stress = gone. My health results came back clean, and now having the exploratory procedures behind me is fantastic. Health stress = gone. The yard and house are shaping up nicely, plans are laid and I feel pretty good about em. House stress = managed. All in all, I'm edging in on being a stress free fox, how I should be.

Tomorrow the wuff and I will be picking up our new phones. I've just about had it with my iphone, as I can't seem to make calls anywhere, I get my texts about an hour after they are sent and despite the phone telling me my signal is great, I still can't seem to connect to anything. So I'm going to switch to Verizon with the Drioid X. Much wags. If anyone is looking for a iphone 3gs that has only suffered minor scrapes to the edge, I am looking to sell mine for cheap, just let me know.

This afternoon I've got my WOD, which so far has been absolutely fantastic. I think the hardest thing is telling myself that I need to lay off any significant weight and concentrate on form, making sure that I've got that down pretty well. So far the workouts have been intense, but awesome. Marathon training starts next month, so we will see how well those two things go together. The plan as of right now is to run the Seattle marathon over thanksgiving, and spend the time up there with A. ^.^

There seems to be a bit of a snag with respect to my AC set, but hopefully you will see it here soon. My apologies for that taking so long.

With that, tis time for me to get back to it!

Yesterday, I had my first colonoscopy/upper endoscopy which went much better than I thought. No (or very little TMI I swear!)

The prep started weds, which consisted of some laxative tablets and then drinking a bottle and a half of magnesium citrate. I'll spare you the details but its basically like giving yourself an enema with a 55gallon drum... except there is no drum, it all comes from inside. I had been told it was hellish, painful, awful, the worst thing ever so I was quite nervous going into it. Turns out it was none of those things. It was actually pretty easy, so long as you obey the rule "its never a fart". I'll spare you the finer details, but it really wasn't that bad at all.

The day of, I had to do the same thing again, this time I wasn't allowed to drink anything. Dire drove me to the hospital, and at that point I just wanted to stop having to go to the bathroom cause it was just annoying. The nurses called me to the back room and put me in one those sexy hospital gowns, so everyone got to see my cute butt, that was a plus. I was telling the nurse that my brother is in nursing school, and apparently ended up jinxing my IV, as she borked it the first time making me bleed everywhere. I'd never really seen a vein bleed like that but I guess its expected when you puncture it. My BP was about where I would expect it to be, slightly elevated, but my resting heart rate was 54. I was impressed at least. I joked with the medial staff, they commented on how I practically inhaled the IV drip since my veins are huge, I got a kick out of that. The Dr came in and we chatted, I signed some consent forms as apparently if you don't give them written consent then it is considered assault. They told me to roll over on my side and boom, thats all I remember.

The next real clear memory I had was sitting on the couch. I don't remember post op, I don't remember getting dressed and I don't remember going to cold stone to get ice cream. Worst of all I don't remember eating said ice cream! I faintly remember asking Dire if he wanted to go to the pen store, and I remember having dire talk to my mom on the phone but I don't know if I called her or if she called me. The stories of my sedated state are pretty awesome, considering that I told Dire when the Dr told me to roll over on my side I said "Bitches come!". Once I was capable of remembering what was going on, we went out to eat at the Rodizo (aka meat faucet) and I ate nothing but meat for as long as I could. I'd never been so hungry.

The tests came back negative, and I'm still waiting on the biopsy work. Nothing in my colon, and a few stomach biopsies were taken for further review. All in all, it wasn't too bad of a procedure and I'm glad that its all done. Now, normal life can resume again. My wuff was also so caring and loving that it made my tail wag. He gave me a cute little card to perk me up before the procedure and took care of his drugged up loopy fox for the rest of the day after ^.^

This weekend Dire and I headed back to Kansas to visit his family and some of his old friends. I really liked Lawrence the last time I was there, so I was excited to go back and spend more time seeing what the town had to offer.

The first night we left FoCo around 1ish. This put us into Kansas City at around midnight or so. We drove straight to the gay club to meet val and his friends there. They were already half in the bag when we got there, so drunken craziness ensued. Dire and I got hit on by old men, *sadface* but in the end it was all fun and we left with stories about all that happened. We danced some, I had a drink (or two) and watched Val stuff money into some dudes tiger print breifs. I think we made it home and crashed around 3.

Saturday we slept too late, but still managed to make it to a really nice place for lunch. I was pretty happy with what I got, a nice salmon and goat cheese dish. We headed off to the zoo, which in hindsight was a horrible idea. We got there late, around 2, paid full admission and then got kicked out at 5. I figured that it would be open later given that there is daylight until around 9pm but I guess not. I liked what I saw, and what was so cool about the place was that it is very spread out. We met blaze and Ferric there, and only got to see them for a little bit before they had to head back out. It was nice to see them though, I like em both. After the zoo we went to the mall, which is always fun but there was nothing there that caught my eye. That night we settled in and watched some movie, but I can't remember.

Sunday morning the wuff and I had brunch with his family, which was fantastic. The food was just fantastic, and I ate waaay too much. I got to meet his grandmother, who has the same name as mine, so I thought that interesting. I snagged to shirts that I really liked at a small shop down town and drank more of the coffee from a local coffee place that I completely fell in love with. A huge storm rolled in, so that put a damper on most of the 4th activites. Instead we curled up and watched movies all night. Hellraiser, Zombieland and then Taking Woodstock. It was a great way to relax and end the day.

Monday we had sushi at a fantastic place downtown with Dire's parents. We had a lot of fun talking about various things, but sadly we had to get on the road since we had a long 9.5 hour drive home. The drive, each way seemed to pass so quickly. In fact, I think the drive was my favorite part of the trip with the beautiful plains to look at and a wonderful wuff to talk to.

Reflections on the con (DJing)

    <lj:music>Liquid Stranger - Alert</lj:music>

AC has come and gone and looking back it was a fantastic time.

DJing on Friday night was the highlight of my con. In the days/hours leading up to it I was about as stressed as I could get. The days before were spent warping tracks and getting used to using my own custom ableton template. The interface I got was new as well so I was learning how to make sure that could be setup and taken down quickly. I spent the plane ride over reviewing what I wanted to play and how. In the last few hours before the dance I just paced back and forth in the DLCC trying to fight back the urge to throw up. When it time came to play, I saw that a bunch of my friends had come out to see me which made me feel better. Among those was Dire, which instantly made my stress drop away.

On stage I pushed myself about as hard as I could. Ableton gives me the freedom to do so much more with my mixes than before, dropping fragments and bits of other songs in times where I'm not mixing. I got so into one of my tweaks that I missed a cue point. Thankfully I managed to recover without too much effort. I worked up such a sweat that it was dripping off my forehead and onto my mixer as I played. When it came to drop the dubstep I didn't even think twice about it. I nailed the transition from 180 to 140 and watched to see what everyone would do. It took a bit for everyone to find the groove, maybe a track or two (4 minutes) but once they did it was awesome.

The sound was fantastic, the lighting set the mood and most importantly the crowd loved it. I was elated when I stepped off stage. To everyone that helped me cope with the stress before I played, thank you. To everyone that danced to the beats I brought thank you so much. I am reminded every year that it isn't just me that loves this music so much and I'm so lucky I can share that with you.

On Friday Dire took me to go see Imogen Heap, someone he had introduced me to a few years back. He had seen her live and really enjoyed how she preforms, so he wanted me to experience that as well. All I can say is that it was very inspiring through and through.

The night started off with a British band called Geese, which I really liked. They were a sort of experimental band, but what they did came together really well. I snagged their EP that was on sale, despite the person selling it not understanding what I meant when I said "Can I snag one of those?". The guy who played after was ok, but nothing that really made me take interest. He was a guy with a guitar, so pretty standard.

Imogen heap came out at 9 and played a fantastic set. Not only does she sing well, but she recreates all of her songs on stage. Picture this, all across the stage are various instruments, some of them almost unrecognizable (like the waterphone). She wanders around with a mic in hand, or using the handy mics on her wrists plays them for 4 bars which gets recorded. She moves to the next one, and records a new 4 bar loop and so on and so on, until she has her song built up. The band provides some variation on the rhythm of the songs and her voice drives it home.

In between songs she engages the audience, telling the story behind what she sings, or what was going on in her life when she wrote the song. The stories were always welcome to hear, as it gives that bit of personal insight into why she does what she does. At some point she brought up a high school choir from Boulder who did an acapella while she sang, which was just so awesome that I couldn't help but smile the whole time.

All in all, as an artist I found it to be very inspiring. She played for 2 and a half hours, which is loooooong for one person to be up there. I was impressed in every way possible and it defiantly is in my list of top concerts I've ever been to.

AC is a week away, and I feel like I'm staring down the barrel of a gun. This is pretty much standard for every time that I play a con, it just sucks. I will pretty much be heads down in music until I'm comfortable with what I want to play. I'd like to build things up, starting with a pinch of dub, and a smear of breaks and ending up with the dnb that I love. We'll see though...

For some reason we got a weekend of rain, which rarely ever happens here. Despite that we still managed to make it out to taste of FoCo with the crowd. It was alright, I figure it was mostly hindered by the weather which is unfortunate. After that we hung out until the Denver crew had to pack up and head home. Electropaw, Celanor and Triggur joined the group for dinner and hookah downtown. When the night was all said and done it was a good time with great people.

Sunday was mostly a lazy day. I cooked my weekly meals, went for a run and worked on getting music stuffs ready for the con. I wanted to get a bit of cleaning done before the weekend was over but that didn't happen, so I think I'm going to tackle some of it over lunch. I feel like I'm going to be going at 100% until AC comes, and then as soon as Friday night is over I can relax.

I might swing by GC today and see if they have the MOTU interface I need to pick up.

Now I have a meeting with my manager!

Now accepting MFF Dance/DJ demos!

    <lj:music>Milanese - The End</lj:music>

Hey all you furs out there, MFF is officially accepting demos for the 2010 dance! With the con moving to a new hotel I'm excited to see what can be done with the new space, and you can be sure that things are just going to get better from what we've had in previous years.

What we are looking for:
MFF is looking for qualified/responsible DJs who can get furs to shake their tails on the dance floor. No con DJ experience is required, just good tunes.

What kind of music?
All kinds! If you can play it well, then we will consider it. The music at the dances tends to be varied, and differs from year to year. We are looking for fursuit friendly music, 80s-90s-00's, top-40, electronic (dnb, dub, trance, house, etc) and even hip-hop (yes, I said hip-hop).

How do I try out?
You can send an email to dance.2010@furfest.org with your info. The email should include a description of what you play, when you are available, what equipment you use and a link to a demo. It is very very hard for me to judge someone without a demo especially if I don't know you so it is very important that I have something to judge your skills with.

What if I just use a laptop/winamp/itunes?
If you play good tunes, then it doesn't matter what you use.

I live in a giant bucket?
I'm sure you do.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone!

I'm pushing into week 3 of working my ass off, and it kind of blows. Stress is kind of getting to me, my back just hurts all the time and I tend to be easily annoyed. To top it all off it snowed last night so now its cold and wet, which is just absurd. Despite all that, things here are going well, we have a good grasp of what we need to do and even though we are on the schedule of being a week+ late it looks like we are getting there. I'm kicking ass along the way though, so that at least has me feeling good. I think good things could come from all this.

Dire and I are trying to figure out what to do for AC, flight wise we don't wanna spend 500 bucks on flights to go to a con, especially when we could take two flights to other cities to visit friends for that price. I don't know why flights to the east coast are so goddamn expensive right now. Going to keep looking though.

Spring cleaning has left the house in a state of disarray to some extent, but we've gotten rid of a bunch of stuff. I've got a few things that I'd like to sell off if at all possible, otherwise it will go to goodwill. The basement is looking much cleaner, as is everything else.

I think today I'll be home at a normal time, I'm working through lunch so I'll be able to leave a little earlier. It will be nice to have the extra hours in the day to work out, or do something useful.

    <lj:music>Shakes - Surprise</lj:music>

This was a much needed weekend, especially after two weeks of brutal work. The weeks of brutality continue, but at least I am recharged.

Mr Xanie decided we should go for a "stay-cation" in Denver and spend the weekend at the JW Marriott. The hotel is located in the heart of Cherry Creek and was pretty fantastic. The hotel bar was top notch, as were the rooms. The shower was the best I've seen in a chain hotel, and the concierge lounge with free deserts, booze and snacks was really nice.. For $700 a night, it had better fuckin be though. We didn't pay nearly that much, but if you ever think that con hotels are expensive at regular rates just try that one on for size.

Our resulting trips out for shopping and dinner proved to be fantastic, as I came back with a shirt that I absolutely love, and a new laptop. I checked out the Sony's and decided that its best just to stick with the MBP, so I am now in the process of loading that up with all my old stuff. The shopping was a little less than desired, as I was having a hard time finding things that I like, but that is how it goes sometimes. It turns out I look good in a suit. Now if I only had a reason to wear one. The food we had this weekend was just awesome. The crepes were great, and the dinner at Duo was even better. I was extremely happy with what we ate, even if it did upset my tummy a bit in the end.

The spring cleaning is coming along well, if not slowly. I'm almost done sorting the basement to the 90% mark. Once that is done, then its just a matter of going though the rest of the stuff and figuring out what I want to get rid of and what I want to keep. Hopefully the keep pile will be less than the toss pile.

Now its just another week of work to get though, and this one will probably be the worst.

    <lj:music>Megadeath - This day we Fight!</lj:music>

I hate when McAffee runs on my corporate laptop, it takes up so many system resources that all I can hear is the loud ass fan on this stupid HP. Why we even run it, I'll never know.

Hockey was bullshit last night, 99% of it was our fault, but goddamn did it suck. 5-2 lead, for some reason we are getting calls against us. Todd got called for a trip when he wasn't even close to the guy, we got other weird penalties that were really inconsistent, which always sucks. The worst however was a shot that rebounded off our goalies pads and landed in the crease. The ref blew the whistle and 1-2 seconds later they put it in the net. They called it a goal, despite having blown the whistle. When we asked the ref he said, well I blew the whistle cause it was going in the net. Talk about retarded. So our season is over. I'm pretty annoyed with what the situation is there... again. More so, I'm annoyed with giving up a 3 goal lead and just taking it out on the convenient target.

So far trying out Gluten free has been working out well. I got a small bout of familiarity with my old pains when I ate that cheese last night so that may be something I need to keep an eye on. I think some of the cheese I like (read dry, hard, salty cheese) might not sit well with me, so its time to keep a log of that. The gluten free has been harder than I thought to do, but so far its not impossible. I've enjoyed not having my GI be fucked up all the time though so thats really nice.

Going to try and snag a new laptop this weekend. I'm pretty impressed with the 15" that Xanie got. Yes its a little big, but I'll enjoy the newfound real estate that comes with it. Speaking of apple, I hope the leak of the iphone has a net positive on them. Then maybe their marketing department and Steve Jobs would pull their head out of their ass and actually let us know what the fuck they are working on. Doubtful but, eh.

And now its back to work, just another 10 hours to go today...

    <lj:music>Narch, Mix n Mash - I Got...</lj:music>

I've noticed that my LJ has become rather diluted with stuff I don't really care to read. More often than not I find myself scrolling down an entire page of entries and not reading a single one. Removing the fursuit community helped a ton, but there is still more paring down to be done. If you do notice that I've taken you off the list please send me a PM if you feel wronged, but it is most likely that I've just found myself not reading your entries as of lately. I rarely lock anything, and if I do, it is usually locked to a filter anyway.

Now, to the content!

The weekend was spent doing a lot of cleaning, running and cuddling with the wuff. We went and saw kick ass and it was just that. Kick ass. Highly recommended to anyone out there. The spring cleaning is coming along even if it is a little slow. I should have the first room done today, which will be nice and then its on to the kitchen.

I hit 8 miles yesterday in the 5 fingers! My feet hurt a bit, as my heels took quite a beating but it was still awesome. I did it in just over an hour, so I'm pretty happy with that. I'm looking at marathon training guides, as I am really seriously thinking about running on this year. 18 week training program... so we'll see how that goes.

Tis gonna be a long week, but it is already off to a good start *wags*
