About TEDxEast TEDxEast seeks to develop and leverage the TED experience at a regional level, bringing together innovative thinkers to connect and discuss great ideas. TEDxEast works to share the voices of thinkers, innovaters, and performers who will delight and inspire. TEDxEast is a collaborative effort on the part of many individuals. The founding committee members Julianne Wurm, Marisa Farina and Connie Frances Avila have expanded the event and the committee as the TEDxEast community continues to grow. The committee includes Vico Sharabani, Lucy Flores, Dr. Rona Frederick, Tommy McCall, Ofelia Mangen, and Susanna Pollack. TEDxEast has been graciously guided and supported by a number of "TEDsters" and we thank them: Andre Balazs, Taylor Milsal, Christine Mason McCaul, Kelly Stoetzel, Sunny Bates, Beth and Steve Varon. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDx[name], where x = independently organized TED event. At TEDx[name], TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
