When I first used AI for UX copy, I was impressed by its speed and fluency, but I realized it lacks the deep context, empathy, and product understanding that real UX writing requires. I’ve come to see AI not as a replacement for writers, but as a powerful workflow tool that accelerates drafts and consistency.

When I researched what documentation experts about the future of AI, one thing became clear: AI doesn’t fix broken workflows. The experts reinforced what I’ve seen firsthand. AI is powerful for triage, PII detection, summarization, and clustering, but only when it’s grounded in governance, validation metrics, and clear exception handling.

AI in technical writing is powerful, but only if you understand its role. I’ve used AI in documentation workflows because it can help you move faster, generate first drafts, enforce consistency, and repurpose content across audiences.
