Advancing Dual Credit in Indiana

Sustaining the Impact

Although the Teach Dual Credit Indiana program concluded on December 31, 2025, its impact continues through the educators who participated and the students they serve. Over the five years, teachers from across Indiana committed time, energy and passion to complete advanced coursework to strengthen their content-area expertise and expand access to dual credit opportunities for high school students. Their work has contributed to lasting improvements in instruction and student access to postsecondary pathways.

Teach Dual Credit Indiana was created to ensure that Indiana high school teachers became equipped and qualified to teach dual credit courses. Teach Dual Credit Indiana provided the funding for tuition and books for teachers seeking to fulfill dual credit credentialing requirements as set forth by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), the accrediting organization for degree-granting postsecondary institutions in Indiana and 18 other states.

Teach Dual Credit Indiana was made available by a grant from INvestEd to the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and administered by the Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning (CELL) at the University of Indianapolis.

At this time, no additional information is available regarding future funding for Teach Dual Credit Indiana or STEM Teach. Updates will be shared with former participants and new subscribers if they become available.

"Program Opportunities Played a Key Role in Her Success Story"

“I think the biggest barrier for teachers furthering their education—and ultimately students’—is the cost. I wouldn’t have been able to pursue dual credit teaching had this program not been there.”

-Sara, English Teacher

"Highly Recommend"

“There are few universities that allow graduate-level Spanish classes online, and Teach Dual Credit Indiana fulfilled my requirements for meeting dual credit certification.

Now, my students benefit from my credentialing by receiving college and high school credit in my Spanish III classroom. I highly recommend Teach Dual Credit Indiana to any teacher wanting to further their education in their content area.”

-Kimberly, Spanish Teacher

"Made the Process So Easy"

“As a veteran teacher with a master’s, the thought of taking more grad classes seemed so daunting.

Teach Dual Credit Indiana made the process so easy! Classes were not only varied and interesting, they were easy to sign up for and professors were understanding and accommodating to the needs of a busy classroom teacher!”

-Andy, History Teacher

"Seamless and Enjoyable"

“Teach Dual Credit Indiana helped me attain 18 additional credit hours in history to become dual credit certified. The process was seamless and enjoyable. The program was user-friendly and convenient for a full-time teacher to complete.

Best of all, I was credentialed to help students attain future credits for college.”
