Sue walked to her bus stop, so relieved to have left the luxury store. Baby Shark was blaring in there and the previous three soundtracks were no better. She wanted to shout like an umpire as she was leaving the store. That’s four annoying songs, and you’re definitely out! She almost went to the bed and bath section to get a towel to put over her ears.
As the bus pulled up, she wondered why the stores couldn’t use musical instruments like a conga drum. 🪘©2026tblily

Charlotte rose out of bed with a yawn and stretched her stiff legs. Growing old is weird, she thought. She slipped on her warm plush slippers and shuffled slowly across to the kitchen. She peered outside her window. Frost had made a visit last night.

Unfinished chores left frosted cobwebs on her lattice. The morning sun fought to dissipate the fog. Serenity frozen in time. Daydreaming with her coffee cupped in both hands, she was glad she made the decision to move here. ©2026tblily

MLMM #469: Hike

Good evening, in response to MLMM, Monday Wordle #469 using all or some of the words. I will try once again with a fictional story. 🙂 🚶‍♀️‍➡️🌳

Words: modern, change, steep, twice, list, ring, leaf, beast, yet, mace, fob, hole

Colossians 3:2 | StockCake Image

Be smart and safe, Rose thought. You never know if I shall run into a beastly wild dog or something. She grabbed her mace and her fob, and stuffed them into her pocket. Rose began the steep walk up the dirt path into the protected provincial park. A leaf slowly twirled down, reminding her that winter was near.

She mentally checked this hike off her to-do list as she looked up at the sun, which had a white ring around it. Twice she missed the hike this week she thought sadly.

Walking away from the modern world is where she finds quietness to unwind her mind and focus on what will last. ©2026tblily 🍁
